Having a reality check before the knock out period is a good thing and it is going to be a tight match as Afghanistan has good clean hitters who can clear the boundary and the only way they can shut them down is by bowling short pitch bowling as Afghanistan usually had a tough time against those deliveries.
With Sri Lanka winning the match against England which i never expected, the upsets keep on happening in this world cup.
NZ lost both their openers for golden duck today, not seen any team loosing both openers like that in a long time. Grin

We need more upsets in this world cup to make it more interesting, but at the same time a defeat today will put India in a very difficult situation. They will be left with 7 points from 5 matches. Fortunately for them, teams such as Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have hardly any chance of overtaking them. But finishing at no.4 can be disappointing for them, as they are considered as one of the stronger teams among the top 3.

1. Consider this as a blessing and testing period for middle order batsmen.
2. Reality check before going to the big games.
3. Testing period for Indian bowlers ( defend low score)

Even a score of 250 looks tough now with Kohli gone and I have lost trust on Dhoni to make a big score. I just hope they put up a decent score and win this game else after Eng's loss yesterday, things look too bad for India.

After the shock defeat by England against Sri Lanka, now we have India struggling against Afghanistan. Top four batsmen including Virat Kohli are back in the pavilion, with just 135 on board. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is still there, but if the Afghans make use of the advantage then they can restrict India under 200. And that will give them a real chance of an upset today.

Rooting for India all the way personally. I guess they might enter the semi-finals quite easily if they win the match today against Afghanistan most probably especially after the way Afghanistan have been performing recently.

Sri Lanka has a strong chance to make it to the top 4 now unexpectedly while Bangladesh still needs to win many games against some powerful teams which is why I doubt they will qualify inspite of having a great batting lineup.

Also, BTC has breached the $10K mark and is already heading towards the $11K mark. Epic!

LOL! I can see that all of us lost the bet but this was really a miracle as defending 232 is almost hopeless in WC. am still in shock wondering how it happened. Almost all the SL bowlers had an economy of about 4 and they took wickets too especially Malinga was the hero today.

If someone would have tried to calm down in the pressure situation and tried to keep rotating the strike to Stokes then they would have made it. Moeen Ali played that shot carelessly and then Woakes and Rashid trying to play off shot against Silva's delivery just made it much more worse.

I admire the way Stokes batted with calm head.
