Chasing loss in gambling is not really good because at the end you might loss everything you have. And that is the mindset of many gamblers. They think the their next game will give them what they have loss from the previous game and they loss out again and bet or play again until everything in the pocket or in the wallet is exhausted before their eyes always open to see and the brain open to understand that they wouldn't used all their money for the gambling or they wouldn't chase the loss. chasing loss is not always a favorable thing to do.
I can remember very well that when I started gambling, I do not have control over my somehow addiction gambling. I noticed that if I lost small amount of money and I continue to gamble, I will lose all. Not that I will continue to lose. I will continue to win and lose randomly but after several games played and gambled, the loss will surpass the profit and before I know, all my money would have been exhausted. Chasing loss is a bad idea and very related to gambling addiction and it can happen to beginners gamblers.

       -  You are, without a doubt, not the only one who has encountered such things as a gambler in crypto gambling, even though I have also been in a scenario where I know I have lost but continue to play. That's why I didn't realize I was going closer to danger while trying to recoup my gaming losses.

And the risk is that my money will run out, so instead of not having to gamble, I will move more and more with the urge to recoup my losses.

Lastly, I deposit 1800$ to have a better bankroll again, This time I’m betting like a high roller and lucky manage to recover my losses and bag 150$ profit.
At some point gambling gets boring. At that time I don't like gambling or anything else. But as far as I know if one continues to gamble even after feeling bored with gambling the chances of loss are high. Even if your bankroll is $5000 at that point you will lose it with in short of time. Those who feel worried should take a break from gambling immediately. I myself have gambled a lot in such situations and lost. After losing I realized my mistakes. There have also been many regrets as to why I didn't take a break from gambling back at that time. Again I depleted all my bankroll recovering small amounts in some cases. Another reason for gambling losses is chasing. A gambler should not try to recover lost money.

I’m not a regular gambler nor an addicted gambler but I recently experienced a terrible chasing loss that start with small amount. I’m on a day off on my job right now due to my minor flu. My feeling got better while I don’t have things to do on my work dormitory so I decided to just gamble for fun only.

My game start by just betting minimum bet on a blackjack table with my initial deposit of 85$ which is my signature campaign earning last week. I lose my initial bank roll with just few bets on consistent losses. I decided to deposit again but this time with higher bankroll which is 250$. I bet twice the minimum bet this time since my bankroll is higher, the result is much terrible loss.

Lastly, I deposit 1800$ to have a better bankroll again, This time I’m betting like a high roller and lucky manage to recover my losses and bag 150$ profit.

Conclusion: I will never gamble again when I’m bored or chase loss small amount. With this exhilarating experience. I think I will stop gambling for a long time and reflec on what dumb thing I do today.

SS of my game history:

I can attest to this. I have hear similar stories of this. But its not advisable to bet when you have emotional issues. Am happy for you because you recovered the amount you loss it would have been another story if you hadn't  recovered the money. Perhaps next time you could watch movies or play music when you want to have fun. Another thing is that you were too fast to place a bet without looking at the odds of winning even you increased your amount of stake regardless of the amount you are loosing. You have such a strong mind and it worked for you. Not everyone it would have worked for. Maybe next time you just learn to be careful and understand that betting is not for everyone especially with much emotions attached.

Your strategy, particularly with those pauses between bets due to the need of depositing, is a very risky martingale approach.

Taking a break to reflect on what happened is a wise move. Best of luck.

I bet op may not know what martingale is at the time he was struggling with those bets, he was not considering any strategy rather he was all focus to get back lost fund and nothing of martingale came to his mind. He was purely losing his money and regretting his initial action to play but martingale is intentionally used whether losing or gaining. It is all lucky for him that he got back his losses otherwise he would have totally had a negative experience he won't be able to forget easily.

You're lucky to have regained your losses and even made a profit, I was not lucky when I tried to chase my losses I lost 80% of the staking token I'd used for additional earnings, it really hurts and that made me stop gambling for a while.

Chasing your losses is a high risk you could lose a lot of money, you have to control your ego and moderate your greed you must create a line where you need to stop, our ego is our greatest enemy and we are blinded by reasoning all we know is we have a chance to regain our losses so we keep going on.

If you experience losing a lot of money from chasing your losses, you will experience guilt feeling that will lead to depression and that's exactly what happened to me.

With the conditions experienced by you and maybe also by some people can confirm exactly that gambling really refers to luck alone, maybe this can be an example for some people out there who are still suffering from the cycle of addiction. I would also say very lucky for those who can eventually recover the initial loss by continuing to gamble, what impresses me is their awareness when in such a position and they prefer to stop right away because they are not strong with the conditions in gambling, so it's better than you continue to gamble with the intention of recovering previous losses, because the final result is clearly completely unpredictable so in my opinion stopping is better as a preventive measure than later the amount of loss is getting bigger.

Self-control is the only thing that is very important when we are in gambling because I think that's the only thing that can help us not to suffer too far losses, like you said above, but the fact is that if they are already addicted to a high level then I think there is little chance for them to apply these controls and limits, their ego is very high and all they want is unlimited victory but on the other hand gambling is created so that you keep losing haha. So think about it well

you were lucky to not lose everything again and get a small profit, but I don't think you are exempt Wink in the future of similar issues.
How to avoid?
create a cold wallet where you are sure you do not have easy access (example 2of3 + password).
only keep available the money you can "throw in the garbage"... the rest are not funds for gambling Roll Eyes

In the past, when I wanted to recover my losses, I didn't end up well because I lost more than before. And because I deposited another amount of money to continue gambling, the money I deposited ran out that day. It was added to the money I had previously deposited to increase my losses. That makes me think that I don't need to recover any more losses because in any case, I will have a hard time getting the money I lost and could end up with more losses.

I agree with @OP who will not chase losses or use gambling when bored because it can change the atmosphere and my mood for the worse, especially if I lose. There are still many other activities that I can use to overcome my boredom and also get pleasure. Gambling is entertaining but can also cause you to lose a lot of money if you are not careful with the money.
Maybe what you did at that time was that you were not able to control yourself well so you could lose the money you deposited and in my opinion at that time you had not found the luck to win, and what you did was chase losses by gambling again even though you should have What to do is stop gambling immediately so as not to cause even greater losses.

@OP's opinion is absolutely correct, with the bad conditions and situations we are experiencing, it's a good idea for us to just stop gambling, because that way we can prevent the risks of gambling and it's better to look for useful activities to restore our minds and if we want to go back to gambling we already have thoughts. be good and careful when gambling to minimize the loss of the money we have.

Even though you experience defeat in gambling, I think you are a very lucky person to be able to realize this, because there are many people out there who continue to chase losses but are unable to realize the losses they have experienced and the stupid problem is that they continue playing and continue to ignore other people. people around him tried to wake him up.

True, I think there is very little chance for gamblers who have been overcome by emotions because of the many defeats to realize the mistakes they have made in. It's not uncommon anymore and maybe now we find quite a lot of gamblers who are very ambitious in gambling, like you said they continue to gamble with the intention of getting a win or even those who have won still can't stop because they expect a much higher win there and this is the real addiction cycle in my opinion where whatever you get you will never be satisfied and always want more than what has been obtained. Basically it is quite difficult to be able to realize that you or they have gone too far in gambling, none other than that because their mindset is very difficult to control and all there is is just wanting to continue gambling despite the fact that the final result will lose more often than win, and it is also useless that basically people who are already addicted will be very difficult to tell or remind through some advice from others.

If you stop gambling, you can feel better and you will feel able to overcome the urge to gamble. why not, you decide to stop gambling. And to make it easier for you to stop gambling, if you have an environment where people gamble every day, leave that environment for a while because this is the factor that often makes someone lose the determination to stop gambling.

Anyone who can finally stop doing this activity or just reduce it in my opinion is good enough and this is the best thing to do. I am sure that anyone will never be comfortable with all the pressure resulting from losing in gambling, of course if indeed your environment is active in gambling then there is no other way to get out of the addiction zone unless you are able to avoid the bad environment, whatever we can do to stop gambling as long as our intentions are strong and firm.

The OP is just going beyond the limits of his ability to get rid of boredom. He should know that using smaller amounts of money is better for getting rid of feelings of boredom, unless he really wants to make money, after all if he initially uses smaller bets it won't drain more of his money but luckily OP has managed to recover his losses and that's good enough.

But if he loses and chases his losses and fails, it will obviously be very detrimental to him. Limiting his gambling budget is important because when he loses he can stop playing and start to feel that it is not good to continue. It should not be continued. Playing with smaller money for fun is no problem. , for example OP is looking for another activity for example playing golf or playing a fun game that costs $100 or more maybe OP will not pursue it because he feels it is entertainment so why ask for money back, just like OP lost at the start but pursuing it is a decision which is wrong and reckless even though in the end he can win it, OP should reduce the budget limit to a smaller one if he really wants to enjoy gambling when he loses there is no need to chase it

Ouch, this is really terrible result for you mate, as you have said, you are not even a regular gambler, maybe just wanted to have some fun and just past the time and just decided to deposit your signature campaign earnings. And that's good though, I mean of course you work hard for it for a week. But you want to be entertained and since you have noting to do, then why not gamble?

But I guess even if you are a novice or experience gambler, it just shows that it's very difficult to control ourselves specially if we are losing. As the initial deposit of $85 have been lost, your mind tells you that you wanted to get it back and so the cycle begins. You deposit $250, lost and then $1800 which is already big even for a casual gambler like the majority of us here.

That's a normal feeling for a newbie, They have no control in their spending and all they know is that there's a chances of hitting big prizes when in fact, there's a thing called beginners luck. It can be a fun and exciting activity at first but it also has a potential to become addictive and lead to negative consequences so it is important to educate yourself about the game and risks involved, always be prepare to lose.

SS of my game history:

I once betting like this during my newbie days. You should not martingale when lose but rather on profit but use a minimal increase on bet instead of x2 your bet so that you can secure profit every rollover.

You are playing classic freebet blackjack which is so rare to find these days. Most the casino remove this table for unknown reason. I love this type of blackjack before but later become tired playing it due to the 22 bust draw since all the free double and free split is null once dealer bust to 22 which is pointless feature.

Glad that you manage to recover but next time start at lower bankroll so that you will not suffer on tremendous chase loss.

Well this makes sense.

As you said that you are not a regular gambler, you have no plan for risk management in gambling and you thought you would not need it. That is indeed a rookie mistake. You never go into gambling with this kind of attitude. Always make a plan and hold yourself to it.

For example, I have a daily gambling limit. If I gamble X amount of money then I am done for the day. No more gambling.

If I would not do this then eventually, I would fall into the same trap you did (and I have).

I've been there and I know how you feel, it takes a brave heart to go this route and learn from his mistakes, many don't learn and they keep trying over until they have nothing left, all you have to do is have a certain amount in mind for gambling, and you don't have to win everyday, have this in mind.

If you believe that you must win today, if you lose few rounds you will want to keep gambling, this is not the right way to gamble, if $100 is all you can afford to lose then use only $100, and if you lose it do not bring out another fresh money to gamble.

I learnt this lesson the hard way, and I get myself after I made some adjustments, either it's a win day or a loss day I will never use more than I have planned to use for gambling that day, many have difficult time standing on this plan but this is the best one that I know.

So you decided to "gamble for fun only", but you've started chasing your loses and you had to bet way more money in order to recover them.
How does that have anything to do with "gambling for fun"? I think that gambling for fun means that you could waste a small amount of money while gambling without the urgent need to recover them and to make profit. What you've done is exactly the opposite of gambling "for fun".
I agree that maybe you should stay away from gambling, because you might get easily carried away by the desire to recover your loses.
