That loss is huge and I myself cannot afford with it. I don't gamble with my hard earned money because I have learned lessons from my previous gambling activities. I've heard something like your experience and that is enough for me to stop gambling before things get worst.

What is lost in gambling is lost. Forget about recovering it through further gambling sessions. Instead, invest your time finding alternative ways to recover your losses through working or even investing. That is the only solid way to recover yourself from a severe loss, and solidity is what someone in a recovery phase should be looking for. Keep in mind that money you lose in few seconds gambling during a long loss streak will take you months or even years to recover it again. So, be very careful when risking money you can't afford to lose. It can mean a harsh setback in your life.

I’m not a regular gambler nor an addicted gambler but I recently experienced a terrible chasing loss that start with small amount. I’m on a day off on my job right now due to my minor flu. My feeling got better while I don’t have things to do on my work dormitory so I decided to just gamble for fun only.

My game start by just betting minimum bet on a blackjack table with my initial deposit of 85$ which is my signature campaign earning last week. I lose my initial bank roll with just few bets on consistent losses. I decided to deposit again but this time with higher bankroll which is 250$. I bet twice the minimum bet this time since my bankroll is higher, the result is much terrible loss.

Lastly, I deposit 1800$ to have a better bankroll again, This time I’m betting like a high roller and lucky manage to recover my losses and bag 150$ profit.

Conclusion: I will never gamble again when I’m bored or chase loss small amount. With this exhilarating experience. I think I will stop gambling for a long time and reflec on what dumb thing I do today.

Damn, I can't imagine how you feel when you deposit those big money, $1,800 is already huge amount as a bankroll and just to chase your initial $85+$250. But I can feel you, I have been in that kind of situation before. Depositing and then trying to chase the lost, but the twist on my end is that I was able to recover back some of the initial bankroll.

But I still didn't stop, and still chase for big win. Then I lost, then deposited some money again, and it the end I lost everything.

For sure it's a big and expensive lessons for you to learn and I just hope that you will not play as you have said as you already know the consequences of chasing losses.
By depositing more of the money that we have in gambling, it will certainly enable us to enjoy the gambling that we play, but it is not certain that we will be able to get back the money that we deposit in the games that we play. Returning to deposit after experiencing a loss of money that we have deposited, I don't think you can control yourself in gambling, of course this is a very bad thing because we can spend all the money we have just on the games we play.

sometimes I do what the OP does when I have free time and have nothing to do, I gamble with the aim of having fun, but I have my own limits when I decide to gamble and if I have implemented these limits but don't receive a profit I stop doing it.

If you gamble with the aim of having fun when you lose the initial capital you used for gambling you should take steps to stop and give up the money you have used for fun but in reality you deposit and deposit again with a larger amount and luckily you can recover the loss what you did just now, if you don't, you will probably be frustrated because you will lose an increasingly large amount of money.

First of all, allow me to congratulate you on successfully recovering the losses you previously suffered. not many gamblers are as lucky as you, who are able to recover losses and most importantly, you are able to stop the gambling session after getting it. an experience that is quite meaningful and at the same time gives you pleasure.
Ideally as you said, chasing losses is the most risky option. however, I wouldn't say it's dangerous. because we are aware and know very well, before starting a gambling session, whatever type of game, you, I, we, are fully aware of every risk. However, let's not rule out that in this risk, we also have the possibility of recovering losses and even if we are lucky, the results can be many times the capital we spend. In fact, when we play, whatever it is, including blackjack, we won't always lose every round of betting, right?. but in this discussion, what we are discussing is not that. The point is, you said that chasing losses is dangerous.

So okay, let's just say we agree. and because of that, we will always need self-control, awareness, and responsibility. However, in practice, it is not as simple as we are talking about. because, when we feel angry about the defeat we experienced, the urge to make a re-deposit is very tempting to our minds. As a result, as you do. you chase losses, luckily for you after a while you are able to reverse and recover them and even get a little reward. Luckily, you stopped the gambling sessions after the recovery. because not infrequently, after we are able to recover previous losses, a strong urge to continue the gambling session always tempts us.

Well, the conclusion you said is very interesting. If you are able to do it as you say, I am grateful and happy to hear that. but not infrequently, what we say, the opposite situation could happen. Nevertheless, I hope you are committed to what you convey in this thread. and try, don't be tempted again to chase losses.

Finally OP had made it and recovered what he had lost out of gambling. This isn't possible all the time. Most of the gamblers could've experienced it losing big money as they start to wager to kill money. Then onwards OP would never think of wagering when he gets bored. He isn't serious gambler, but if similar spending continues then he need to self analyse and stay on the safer side.

Not everyone able to enjoy gambling, because of the risk. With gambling we should have big money and in such situation the winning probability is very high compared to having limited funds and trying to recover the loss. Same time the risk used to be high while wagering with big money.

One bad thing with when you chase loses and get them once is that you will be encouraged to want to try another time when you gamble and then loose some money. The first time chasing loses and getting them may just be luck, you should not want to always try it or keep trying it. Counting losses has helped people been able to deal with what they loose, without trying to chase it, it should be copied by new gamblers who have never heard of the advice not chase losses.

That is the most common sickness among casino gamblers. The more they quit gambling, the more they want to bet because they believe that if they win, they will recoup their losses from prior bets. They didn't realize, however, that the more they lost, the more they lost.

So it's no surprise that many gamblers become addicted to gambling as a result of this behavior, and I don't think it'll go away because it will just spread to different gamblers when greed penetrates their personal lives. characteristic.

If you believe in the idea of luck or going on runs, then you should also know not to chase losses. When you’re hot you’re hot and when you’re not… I was taught when it comes to investing (and maybe applies to gambling a little bit) to let your winners run long and cut your losers short. Basically, if you’re losing then stop and if you’re winning keep going (although in the end given enough time everyone loses).

Well, I think you can afford to lose that in the first place but lesson learned you don't have to chase losses that way. Imagine if you've lost all that a $2k bankroll is really huge to be lost in just a day especially if you are not that of a whale.
I don’t think affording to lose that was the case, and we really never can tell if the OP could have afford to lose that as it was never mentioned, what I understand from the OP’s action was the opposite, he never expected to lose his second deposit which was made to use and regain back his first deposit for the day that was lost entire, which makes him want to wager more in other to recover the money that has been lost, I don’t see such wagering choice as something someone who can afford to lose or want to lose such amount kind of thing.

But be that as it may it was really a wrong move by the OP, but the OP also have a good gambling skill adding to luck being on his side which make him win back all that was lost during his gambling for that whole day.

The first thing you did was very risky, and you followed it up with another risky move. First,  you gambled an initial capital to start; that's okay, but you kept on playing because you hooked up and wanted to chase your losses. You said 'for fun only' then why do you end up wanting to chase your losses desperately? Second, you deposit a huge amount and stake a big margin or big bet, which is very risky. What if you also lose the money you've deposited? Will you chase it again? If so, then the cycle will only continue until you have nothing to gamble on anymore. You see, it shows how passive a gambler you are; you decide without thinking about the consequences or what will happen next. Thankfully, you recovered your losses and earned some, but that is something not to be proud of. I thought you would never do that again based on Whatever happens to you, you can repeat it because you can't control yourself.

First, get well soon @OP. Now to the topic...

It is really bad to chase losses.  You are lucky @OP that you are able to recover your losses with some profit in hand before quitting.  Many gambler that chases loss are not that lucky and end up losing all their bankroll deposits resulting in a huge amount of losses.   I also experience chasing losses and the result is undesirable so from then on, I stop when my bankroll got depleted and never again redeposit just to chase my losses.

Recovering losses still needs to be recommended because it can trigger you to deposit more money. After all, your money has been used up for the previous round. You have experienced it, but you are lucky to be able to win even though you have experienced loss before. You can imagine that if you still lose all your money in that gambling game, you won't be able to sleep well because the loss will haunt you.

This is a valuable lesson for you. Never try to recover from a loss or chase a win because it will not be easy. You can experience more losses, which can cause you to be unable to accept it and want to deposit another amount of money to recover the losses.

The road to addiction and even borrowing more funds to playing gambling all started this way good to know that you later realize that what you are about doing to yourself is not good. From my past experience, I don't think is over yet because your mind might still be there and that same feeling may return you into playing gambling soon again as against your conclusion that you will not return till a long period of time.

Chasing losses is suicide.!

You would really be finding yourself on deep regret on the time that you would really be seeing yourself getting wrecked with gambling. This is why on the time that you would really be dealing up with gambling then it would really be just that wise that you should really be that spending on the money on which you can afford to lose and going beyond  that line then it would really be that imposing such danger in towards your finances.
Never ever chase up losses because this would really be that be ending up on having that desperation deep inside on which it would cause for you to play much further.

That's the last thing you'd wanna repeat again bro ... Shit doesn't end well.. when you try to amend and get Back your stakes atleast, you lose the more.. This definitely means you didn't Carry out any gambling routines cus if you did, you would have had a specific amount from your bankroll to wager with, for the day...
It's appalling and very much concerning how you'd wanna conserve your money, but you need to waste them first.. lol

You should really be having that threshold line when it comes to gambling. You should really know on how you do call it a day or simply having that break or pause
once you have depleted out your entire bankroll. If you do find yourself that proceeding and already spending which is above of your limit then this is a solid indication
that you are already getting addicted to it and if you dont like for things to get messed up then it would really be just that right that you should be stopping right away.

I could remember the casino I started using not quite long that almost made me to chase my loses although I could see that it does not worth. I had no option than to leave the casino and not bet there for about few days before I decided to back and start gambling on the casino. The kind of winnings I had was very surprising to me because I never thought I could make such consistent winnings.

I think if everyone take this kind of decisions when they noticed that they are becoming addicted or having too much loses, it is good for us to leave gambling for a while that the loses will not affect our emotions if we continue to bet with any plans or taking a leave or rest for a while.
Yeah, that is the best thing to do,  whenever you feel that you are going too much in a particular direction, then you need to take a break in between because your continued it may have lead you to more losses,  this is not peculiar to only you,  but so many of us here and that is why you need a lot of discipline to be able to stay at a safer place while gambling.

Having a limit in gambling is like setting a stop-loss timer on your trading feature this will help you to stay above the tendency of going over the board looking for what you may not be able to cash up with at some point,  so giving the break becomes the best way to stay at safer zone.

Things like this, most times, are beyond our personal control. Gravity can be used to classify such behavior. When gambling makes us happy we'll gamble until it starts getting us sad and terrified. Then we begin to chase losses like OP. Assuming he didn't follow up his loses, though risky, he may not have earned profits. This made me think of how uncertain gambling can be. It works differently for everyone. Gambling is risk. Most people may have lost a lot in gambling, due to second thought, they stopped gambling then tried again to be welcomed by big wins. It may no work similarly for others. That's why no specific method can be used to win continuously in gambling. OP is an example of a player with a weird gambling experience. They're times we gambling so much, and begin to wonder, what we've done to our self. And boom, a win that shuts us up, maintains the news, and makes us not to feel like to gamble again. It could be as a result of what a person wants to gain. Or feel about gambling. If they don't stand strong against peer pressure, they'll definitely go back to gambling.  While I support giving gambling a sustainable time for rest, I  don't agree with the win and run technique. As it could be stopping the player from winning on the next game.

This is a good example of an average gambler losing control of their emotions and betting way more than what they can afford to lose, fortunately you avoided the worst outcome by earning a little bit of money out of this experience, but things could have easily go against you and your losses could have been very high, it is because of this that every single gambler needs to be very careful even if they know they have no gambling issues, as all what is needed to accumulate huge losses is for their self-control to fail them once.
