Doesn't the size of "Other" on the Bitcoin Watch pie chart bother anybody?  That is  clearly the reason for the spike in blocks per hour.  Somebody brought an IMMENSE amount of hardware online just before the difficulty increase.

Veldy my friend, I am a lifetime geek, I started distributed computing on 1/1/2004 /w folding@home; if bitcoin somehow comepletely dies I am switching back to folding@home and keeping my hardware. Any money I spend in computer hardware only makes me happier as a person.

This is win-win for me. Cheesy

folding@home - can you make money out of that ?  And if so, how ?

I think what he really said is that he used credit to buy all that equipment Smiley  I hear the Balrog now ... boom doom doom boom!

No; it's used for research - cancer/alzheimers etc

Cool, I'll bookmark that. Stick a couple of machines on it when all this is over Smiley

A question Tycho, would it be possible to add total average income for a worker?
So if a worker is active 8 hours one day, and 6 hours the next, it will show the total average income for those 14 active hours.
Currently only shares are counted for each worker, not the balance.
Earnings per worker can be estimated by looking at share proportions, but this may not be precise enough.

You said it yourself, it's not precise enough. Only having the total shares does not say much about the actual income. As the difficulty changes, so does the value per share.
It is hard to extract how many of the shares were mined during what difficulty, making it hard to put a total estimate on workers that span many difficulty changes.

So a timeline over shares/dificulty at least would be nice.

the setting for bitcoin.exe and poclbm.exe are:
Quote
start /DD:\Software\Bitcoin-0.3.22 bitcoin.exe -server
start /DD:\Software\Bitcoin-0.3.22\poclbm_py2exe_20110428 poclbm.exe -v -w 512 -f 60 -d1 --host=pit.deepbit.net --port=8332 --user=xxx --pass=xxx --device=0
Can anyone tell me what problem is it?
1. You don't need to run bitcoin server for pooled mining.
2. Your settings are almost correct, but you are choosing device 1 by "-d1" and then device 0 by "--device=0", there should be only one.
3. Those errors may be caused by bad internet connection. Is your displayed hashrate much lower on the site than in console or not ?

If you knew anything about statistics, Atroxes, you'd know that even right now there's already a good chance his pool finds a few blocks in a row, 51% is a myth.

Even with 40% he will get 6 blocks in a row 0.41% of the time meaning he only needs 244 attempts to succeed once. Is that in any way shape or form good for the health and security of Bitcoin? I seriously doubt Satoshi would be happy if he saw a client have this much of the total hashing speed, and it even arguably defeats the whole point of mining.

EDIT: And I understand that everyone is participating voluntarily it's just that I don't want to see us suffer even a single fraud attack which could potentially bring the whole thing down.

What if [Tycho] is really Satoshi Nakamoto himself ?
I am the one, who accused directly that [Tycho] "WILL" bring down Bitcoin.
http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=9090
But, the working style, speed, quick response, non stop increase in pool size, still he is BELOW 50% for the past 2-3 months, I think it is Satoshi Nakamoto himself running deepbit.net in alias form, [Tycho], so that NO OTHERS take down the bitcoin.
If some one like US govt, try to take down bitcoin then any one think that Satoshi Nakamoto will just sit & do nothing?
With the power of pool size [Tycho] has Satoshi Nakamoto can easily with out much effort can make bitcoin stay forever, who ever, what ever times attack bitcoin, to bring down bitcoin.

Am i right?

Hello again,
this time i need some help with json_decode of the stats of each worker.

They are in a array but im to stupid to extract it.

This is the code i used to get the Hashrate:
Code:
$str = json_decode($contents);
$value = $str->{'hashrate'};
echo $value

How does it work for the array of workers ?

2nd question, how do i get the values of one specific worker ?

Thx for you help.
cheers

hey guys, after hashing for a few days solo I decided to switch to deepbit.net;

I have to say it was exceptionally easy to switch over my GPUs so many thanks to Tycho for the help (rich fucker hehe)

Anyway; How do I get my CPU mining? I have the official bitcoin program running solo still, since switching my poclbm clients was so easy..

edit: also I have converted my entire appartment into a bitcoin farm (I am deadly serious) I have even setup an LCD on a mounting bracket next do my apartment door so I can see my stats 24/7 from anywhere in the room

edit2: I am officially going to make a living 24/7 mining. This is awesome. I also have a FIXED powerbill here (@ $10/14 days) which is essentially FREE POWER. WOOT. I have studied my General Tenancy Agreement and Communal rules and am OK to proceed - a website or application that details my entire statistics for my internal network is what I need - anyone reccomend something?

edit3: I read that longpolling eliminates stale shares, I believe deepbit has this? yet I am still getting stale shares? whats up with that?

Cheers everyone

I hope you didn't CHARGE all that equipment.  This could sky rocket and you could win.  This could crumble and you could lose it all.  It could go stagnant and you won't earn enough to live on (as opposed to your investment).  Far more dangerous than day trading used to be when people jumped from windows after losing everything.  Don't be one of them.
