The pictures of Russian troops that NATO said were proving that Russia is amassing its troops at the Ukrainian border are from August 2013, from Russia's military exercises in the Southern region from last summer.

Stupid American viewers of CNN and BBC will not care whether it is from 2013 or 2014. Even if you show them some WW2 footage and say that it is from 2014, they will believe it.

US sends its third military ship into Black Sea:

Russia should really start sending its military ships to Cuba. It's been too long since the last time...

More on that:

“It demonstrates our commitment to our … allies to enhance security, readiness and capabilities,” spokesman Colonel Steven Warren said in a statement.

But sources in the Russian military believe the move is part of a systematic build-up of naval forces.

“What we are seeing is that for the first time since 2008, NATO is creating a naval battle group outside the Russian borders,” a source told Interfax news agency, citing the entry of French reconnaissance ship Dupuy de Lome and destroyer Dupleix – both expected within the next week.

...

“The purpose of this is to provide moral support for the regime in Kiev, but also as a demonstration of power to make Russia come to heel. But the ship will also collect information on Russian military activity in Crimea and on the Ukrainian border,” the source said.

A moratorium on the death penalty, for example... Isn't it ridiculous?  Roll Eyes

Definitely. Someone who killed 350 children in Beslan escaped the death penalty because of this stupid moratorium. Time to bring back the death penalty and hang all those terrorists.

Actually I think that RF had to leave PACE a long time ago. Membership in this organization creates nothing but problems. It provides only restrictions without any benefits...

If I remember right, russian delegation members said that they will resign in the case of exclusion from decision-making processes... So, they are leaving PACE now?

Who really cares about PACE? If Russia leaves PACE then it will bring more disrepute to the PACE itself than it will bring to Russia. These bodies were supposed to be politically neutral, if I am not wrong.

Yes, eventually:

Russia’s delegation said before the vote that he could leave the Parliamentary Assembly for the Council of Europe in protest at the decision. However, in a heated media conference following the session, a more relaxed Pushkov stated, “We will take our time. The Russian delegation will meet in a calm atmosphere to make a decision within the next two to three weeks”.

The Russian delegation did not even attend the vote in protest at the motion, which was tabled by Robert Walter, a British member of the assembly.

we may as well talk in russian now

When stuff happens in a Russian-speaking country, you should expect that the most verbal commentators would come from that region. Most here, though, try to translate the information so that it is available to the public. Or do you expect BBC/CNN/Fox "information" only here?

Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) excludes Russia from all international talks and decision-making processes until the end of the year (maybe Russia should ask for it $27 million of contribution to PACE back?):

When asked if criticism from US and other countries has any validity, Pushkov replied, "[it’s odd that] nations that participated in several NATO aggressions, those who bombed a European capital and occupied the sovereign state of Iraq have the right to tell us what to do."

Pushkov also commented on his Twitter page:

The Ukrainian delegation are firing national hatred declaring to PACE that “The Russian people will feed you and then cut you up.” And then applause in the auditorium! This is a sham!

Actualy, Russia has no blame at all. The west started this, so it's 70% their fault and 30% the fault of Ukrainians for being stupid and not learning on Serbian example.

The facts are straight : 1) Us and Eu ousted the legitimatly elected president of Ukraine and installed a puppet regime in Kiev thus the Ex Soviet block and Russians especially lost the motherland of their culture. 2)They where forced to mobilize forces to save their naval base and Taurica and are desperatly trying to save the east territories beeing labeled as agressors..
3)Th ey are beeing sanctioned.

How exactly is this winning ? This is more like mitigating loses and being sanctioned for it as well.

Junta & oligarchs are trying to work with Obama but asking RF for money. Of course they will receive nothing, no surprise here. Smiley

Look at the people who have shifted their loyalty to Obama. They include Renat Akhmetov and Gennadiy Kernes, two of the most corrupt men in the Ukraine. Let's see for how long the EU and US will tolerate them.

“The situation is - to put it kindly, strange. It’s known our partners in Europe have recognized the legitimacy of the government in Kiev, yet have done nothing to support Ukraine – not even one dollar or one euro,”

“The Russian Federation doesn’t recognize the legitimacy of the authorities in Kiev, but it keeps providing economic support and subsidizing the economy of Ukraine with hundreds of millions and billions of dollars. This situation can’t last indefinitely,”

No more Russian gas for Ukraine. Let them import it from their new allies (USA). Why anyone should further help the notoriously badly managed industries of Ukraine? More cheap gas means more corruption. Lets put an end to this.

Casualties and losses
China: 800 killed[1]
USSR: 59 killed 94 wounded[2]
Oh shi...

Well..... the Chinese lost thousands of their soldiers, but the death count was under-reported. A Chinese defector told the Americans that more than 3,000 PLA personnel were killed in two hours of BM-21 Grad multi-barrel rocket (Peaктивныx Cиcтeм Зaлпoвoгo Oгня or MLRS) barrage by the Soviets.

The Soviets initially withdrew from most of the island, after which the Chinese advanced. Once they reached the center portion of the island, they were surrounded on three sides by the Red Army. Colonel-General Oleg Losik ordered the Red Army to use MLRS, and within a few hours the Chinese were exterminated.

As war fever gripped China, Moscow and Beijing took steps to lower the danger of a large-scale conflict. On September 11, 1969, Soviet Prime Minister Alexei Kosygin, on his way back from the funeral of the Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh, stopped over in Beijing for talks with his Chinese counterpart, Zhou Enlai. Symbolic of the frosty relations between the two communist countries, the talks were held in Beijing airport. The two premiers agreed to return ambassadors previously recalled and begin border negotiations.

You forgot Soviet Union in that list. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sino-Soviet_border_conflict

Well.. this time the Chinese got their a$$es kicked quite hard. The Chinese were over the moon after their victory in the 1961 Sino-Indian conflict. They thought that their manpower will neutralize the superior Soviet technology. The Soviets were quite patient in the initial few days of the conflict. Then they decided that enough was enough. PLA got blown away in 2 days.
