I haven't studied chandran signatures, so I don't yet know if they wouldn't have similar or the same problem.

Again, I have no intentions on attacking XMR as my focus is my pools and DGC if anything.

Yes this is true but it doesn't seem good enough for the powers that be.

Maybe a demonstration is in fact needed.

I preferred a forced evolutionary fix, but that seems to beyond the vision of the XMR devs.

Too caught up in their ego's I guess.

The more you write, the more desperate you sound. Not a personal attack, just an observation.

And I hope you know that while many innocent individuals may get hurt financially in the short term due to your actions (or lack thereof), the end of this iteration of XMR (or CN more generally) is not the end of the world.  In fact, its completely insignificant in the context of global finance.  You might think you are powerful, but trying to attack this coin in this way at this stage illustrates the trivial amount of power you actually possess.

Best of luck, but I'm betting against you.

You gave your warning- why can't you just leave it at that?
Is this a pissing contest? Isn't that for little kids?

Well that escalated quickly.

Is BBR safe?  You wouldn't pick on our sweet lil' berry, right?   Undecided

I understand it that way ... You're, .. either want to invest Money
To do this, you need security, you've found a flaw or what you want and be fine or better dead coin.
After all what happens ... Monero or will become second in importance coin or die.
We sincerely hope,  not  to  the second option.
I apologize for the bad English.

So it is unsure if I have proven amplification, but I would say it is very likely.

Remember, we had already proved amplification, if by amplification you mean that the attacker can gain knowledge of additional payment linkages beyond those revealed directly by knowledge of his own outputs (our research bulletin called this a chain reaction). http://lab.monero.cc/pubs/MRL-0001.pdf

In that sense I would say you have proven amplification, since your method identifies all of the cases identified in our paper.

It seems likely at this stage that your method will also demonstrate additional amplification, but two things are needed:

1. To show the additional amplification indeed happens. This seems relatively easy.

2. To show that it is a viable method (resource requirements to achieve #1 are reasonably feasible). Not sure about this one, but I would say >50%

Almost there.

BTW, I don't think the BBR feature is directly effective against Sybil attackers. It prevents disclosure to the public (for example by someone spending without a mix) but a Sybil attacker can easily create these min-mix outputs, and then you will choose them as your "safe" mixin. But the damage is done as soon as you use the attacker's outputs in a mix (he knows his are not the real ones so yours is identified by elimination); whether or how he spends does not matter.

The BBR feature may slow down the rate of chain reaction sunder some conditions, I'm not sure.

In any case we move on to...

BCX has admitted in the trollbox that he needs a TimeWarp attack to rewind the blockchain and spend the private keys he cracks. He claims he has that TW attack and he also thinks he can crack the private keys. But we have not yet figured out either of those two things. And we are skeptical (well lets say they are skeptical and I am not sure what I think, I'm too sleepy).

Agreed, except I would say the skepticism is greater on the math, less on the code.

Okay you guys get BCX under the influence LOL

1.5 750's of Stoli Elite is damn near truth serum

The LTC bastards double crossed me, fucke'm but they are beyond my abilities to kill due to hash rate or I would.

I did indeed post on Poloniex earlier.

I will indeed force Monero to rapidly evolve or die.

He probably want Monero hash-rate to drop low enough so he can fire up his mining machines and make an actual damage with 51%, or just buy low.

This is one of my possible conclusions from a few days ago, that he wants to commit a hashrate attack (20% - 51%?) and this FUD actually causes miners to drop out, giving him the chance he needs.

We all know BCX is a hashrate attacker, but I don't think he is a cryptographic analyst. Do we have any evidence where he has mathematically torn apart a coin? I don't think so.

BCX has miners, so we must keep the hashrate of Monero up so that we can defend against this onslaught.
If there is fault in the CN, then he may not need 51%, just 20% could do.

AWS MINING INFO:

search "miner"

you will see it

named

8 GB Magnetic Miner

is mine, for CPU only -
confirm b/c AMI number is ami-b95c2789

-- But jwingterm has one named "XMR Miner" that is good for GPU instances, to mine with both CPU and GPU
absolutely enable hugepages with his AMI to get best performance for the CPU

sudo sysctl -w vm.nr_hugepages=num" where "num" is the number of threads you're running times three -- I USE 24 SINCE 8 THREADS

AND do this:
sudo ldconfig /usr/local/cuda-5.5/lib64

Remember that cryptonotepool.org.uk donates 1% to dev fund.

Noticed a precious bit of history, thanks to blackjesus, quoted below.  It seems BCX is not above scooping cheap coins on these occasions

Does it add more security to solo mine?  I really don't care about the return.  It's not like I'm firing up new computers.

It depends... solo miners are full nodes, so if an attacker starts DDoSing full nodes on the network to bring the hashrate down, it's always good to have redundancy.

The attacker could also DDOS pools. Either way more full nodes solo mining is helpful.

http://lab.monero.cc/pubs/MRL-0001.pdf confirmed flaws in monero - crypto note is doomed-  stealthcoins chandran signatures is obvious the way to go

This has already been addressed by the Monero devs and doesn't doom cryptonote.

Chandran signatures have the same issue, and are much bigger and slower, and have other issues. We don't know if they will be practical to use but if so we can drop them in. Ignore the shill.

Don't know about them being slower, but are they really bigger?  Just looking at the SealthSend whitepaper and it says they're smaller.

"For example, instead of requiring 9.5 kB, a 100 key Chandran signature (with no further optimizations) would would require about 7 kB."

The constant factor is much bigger. Yes if you do 100 mix sig it will probably be smaller. If you do a 5 or 10 mix it will be bigger. You are stuck with large transactions regardless of the degree of mixing you want. If we do add Chandran signatures we would likely have both kinds with a cutoff.

Under the right conditions (not using dusty inputs) our transactions can be extremely small. For example, take a look at this one, mix 5 and only 824 bytes:

http://chainradar.com/xmr/transaction/08d5befb17f0708766733ef57419855954f6885488662f588f2005459eb3cdb5

There are some other issues with them I'm not prepared to address right now, but we will have a writeup at some point.

Thanks for clarifying that for me.

I figure I've got a couple of days to learn how and set something up.

I've never mined a damn thing...don't know anything about it.  Can I mine CPU?  Can I use Amazon ec2?  How to set that up?  I will find some reading on it tomorrow night, but if anybody can point me to shortcuts, PM me or post here.

Check your PM for AWS mining info.

I might be interested in giving that a shot as well.  Any chance you could copy and paste that to me as well?  Thanks.

We don't need more of these scrypt based scam chains. Please stop. Thank you ! BCX pls attack this crap.

BCX never had any intention of attacking of Litecoin. It might have been the wrong execution of the right idea but at any rate, Litecoin dominated the threads, people rallied for it, check points were set and hash rate doubled in response to a threatened 51% attack and let's not forget that the LTC Dev team knew the whole time I wasn't going to attack the chain ;-)

The price tanked, I bought low and have been GPU mining since the very early days legitimately GPU mining since early GPU development in Litecoin.

I still have every LTC I have ever bought or mined and I think we will see $10.00 in the near future.....

But back to your original statement, yes people said the same thing about LTC as they today about any alt coin.

Now back into a state of incognito until Microcash or Solidcoin pops back up  Grin Grin Grin
