I don't think Bitcoin can survive more than 20 years as a valuable altcoin, because technology is quickly advancing and even ten years are enough to develop better technologies, leaving behind the previous advances. Perhaps in 20 years bitcoin still will survive as an historic but outdated technology, stored by romantic bitcoiners using it to exchange coupons or play video games.
This topic made me smile, and after smiling and laughing I started to think about bitcoins end, is it possible that bitcoin will die?
Even I have many doubts and suspicions I think bitcoin will last for years, it started years ago and its so clear that nothing can stop this now.
I don't think bitcoin will die any time soon, people can relax and not be afraid with this funny thoughts of some people. Probably they are just jealous cause they didn't find out about bitcoins sooner.

Yeah we do not have to afraid in the matter of bitcoin, we have to convert our money to bitcoin and have to wait for longer we will see that the price will increase much higher in the coming future and we will earn a bigger profit from bitcoin price increase.
As long as people still use bitcoins or the price crashes, it's never going to die.
The price crashed down a few time in past but still it is alive and people are using this currency and are happy with that, I think now bitcoin is a normal currency and no one is going to leave it and so it will remain alive.

Time will show how long Bitcoins survive but my guess is not more than 3 years......please challenge that statement with serious arguments.
3 years is very short. If your statement holds true it will be at least 6 years. It took Bitcoin several years to get to the rise. An alt coin would have to experience the same rise with the same amount of time.I doubt bitcoin will die this decade.
True, there is the right time for everything. Like for what in Bitcoin, Bitcoin started at no value, from low value up to high value that we had it now in bitcoin. it takes times really even for the altcoin who is potential to invest in too.
i don't think bitcoin will die, it will be forgotten but will not dies since it is only a program and program can be saved and retrieve later. Another thing is the user base of bitcoin is already big to get it to worthless piece of techinology, even with government banning
Yeah as you mentioned government ban on bitcoin, so there are people using bitcoin in countries where bitcoin is banned by government, so that is the sign that bitcoin cannot die just like that if a banned countries users can use it then what about those where it is never banned?

Wrong. When a better technology is invented, Bitcoin will die. But I can't predict when that is going to happen. May be in 2020. Or in 2030.

Mining is definitely not profitable for small-scale operators.

There is no guarantee that the rates are going to increase. Actually, I am expecting a fall in the near-term. There was a lot of hype surrounding the block reward halving. Once that effect is gone, we may witness a decline in the rates.
It'll die when the electricity will fail for at least a split second. People would get EXTREMELY scared and will leave Bitcoin and any other serious stuff of the Internet.

Just the price is crashing it does not mean bitcoin will die and different with all of the bitcoiners is starting for leaving bitcoin I think that is will make bitcoin will die but for slowly, for the crashes price is always there a chance for bitcoin for rise again. you are right, though if people use bitcoins then it is impossible for the price to crash down too fast, in my opinion bitcoin is never going to dieWell, bitcoin has a chance to die. Those incident might be happen someday. Also, there might be another better cryptocurrency in future, people might move to it and leave bitcoin. We'll never know what will happen in the future.

Most investors don't really depend on shear "trust". They tend to do research about the potential growth of value of what they invested in, and it seems that as of right now, bitcoin is the only crypto that has quite a surefire good future to expect in terms of value, that is.

It's not like bitcoins are not traceable, but if you are much concerned, use Monero instead.
bitcoin is indeed a new technology but when the more new advanced technology has been developed bitcoin will be considered as an old technology and will be eventually getting abandoned by people but it's still far in the futurethe great thing of bitcoin is that it is open source. changes can be made where/when needed to make bitcoin a bit more future proof. one of the examples is the block size increase that people are waiting for. that's a great step towards even more bitcoin adoption as it will be able to handle twice as many transactions and stuff.
Its not easy for bitcoin to die or disappear on short notice, its growing at a moment and it will be more powerful currency in future when it will find many big investors.
we can't predict that but i hope it won't happen soon as i have many bitcoins
Yes yes we cant predict such this thing because we dont know what really bitcoin futures are and we always depending on some investors who are going to buy bitcoin so that the price will going to be up maybe bitcoin price will be decrease but not going to die because many peope ans investors are using bitcoin as cureency and hoping that i wont happen
