Thank you jasinlee Smiley

No problem, don't worry this looks if it keeps going as it has been to be going in favor of the EAW. The review will be pretty well in your favor.

test the one already there, GLIBC is backward compatible Wink

I tried that allready, guess i wouldnt demand for it if your upper version would work on rpi, is there a way on debian to crosscompile??

En Gruess

A friend of mine got a RPi, gonna ask him if i can use it and build the miner on raspbian.
RPi is ARM6 not x86/x64 therefore it wont work on it Wink

En gruess Wink
i0coin, is there still a need for devcoind build for ARM6?

Hi,

I've just checked out old-devconid from github, but something's not entirely okay here:

Code:
$ ./devcoind
Downloading receiver_0.csv base file.
Could not get the page: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=DB1dyxuU
Exception: End of file
Warning, writeFileText in receiver.h won't write the file:
receiver_0.csv
because the text is blank.
Warning, writeFileText in receiver.h won't write the file:
/home/bsanyi/.devcoin/receiver/receiver_0.csv
because the text is blank.
No coin addresses were found, there may be something wrong with the receiver_x.csv files.
Downloading receiver_0.csv base file
...

...and that goes round and and round.  It tries to download the receiver_0.csv, but
it fails (the pastebin URL is the cause), but when it realizes it's failure, it just tries
to do it again and again.  Pastebin tries to kill devcoin!? Smiley

I even can't open that URL with my browser.  Except with tor browser, but even with
tor it only works once or twice out of 10.  (Maybe pastebin does not like my country
just like Tor exit nodes?)  This is the content of the file:

The URLs at the head of the list are all broken, HTTP 404 is the
usual aswer to them.

I'm quite new to devcoin, and I don't really understand what are these
receiver lists for, but what I know is that this unreachable URL prevents
my shiny new devcoind to download the block chain and work properly.

I think the limit to get into the game with devcoin is too high. Newbies
will run away from these kind of difficulties.

Could you please provide me a little bit of support with this?

When you say they use water for green energy is it via hydrogen?
No, the actual power source is one of 4 hydroelectric power plants here in the region.

BTW, do you have any results from the EAW you could report about ?? i guess there is a Devcoin bounty for that report...

Just an interesting thought to green up devcoin and crypto in general.... perhaps this could additionally be a DVB goal (Icoin?)
DVB aswell as GMP allready use green energy (water). (Im not realy a frend of the so called renewable energies. In my opinion that is just a deception from the allready 100 years existing and supressed 0 point energy. http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:Suppression )
Besides all that, DVB has the knowhow (Full automated HHO electrolysis reactor using a Bedinini circuit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNyOkpcWBdo) and is ready fund a GPL powersource development, but the DVC/BTC volume what is needed for that would have to be factor 1000 greater then it is acutaly.
The first step towards HHO is obviously the ECA reactor, since diaphragmalysis and electrolysis works basicaly the same way Smiley

In reference to a post I have just seen:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/using-renewable-energy-to-mine-123221

How about adding devcoin bounty shares for open source DIY low/reasonable costing renewable energy devcoin mining setups.  As part of the conditions I would recommend at least the following:

1)  Generation KW/h should match or exceed targeted mining platforms (i.e. cost of running a typical GPU card, FPGA miner, ASIC miner, etc. + some allowance for a bare bones desktop/laptop power requirements)
2)  Cost should be proportional to the targeted platform, say 30 to 40% maximum (This makes GPU setups harder, but ASIC setups easier ... however there should be some reasonable limitation)
3)  All components should be easily obtainable in Europe, Australia and U.S.A.  (left out our Asian friends but that is mostly because I'm unsure of the feasibility of adding them in this requirement - I'm sure Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan are all likely to obtain these things but the rest of Asia I'm really unsure)
4)  The DIY kit should provide power in 1 of 3 scenarios - a) always available; b) available during day with battery charging for night availability; c) depend on power grid sale/repurchase (i.e. produce extra when power available expecting extra to be sold on the local grid which can then be "repurchased" when the power is unavailable from the kit .... but in all cases the kit provides 24/7 power needs for the targeted platform.

Just an interesting thought to green up devcoin and crypto in general.... perhaps this could additionally be a DVB goal (Icoin?)

Speaking of growth, I added some GNUplot plots to the tables at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/digitalisassets.html

See for example the DVC based plots http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/plotdvc.html and http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/plotsharesindvc.html

I just noticed, the dvb shares @ https://cryptostocks.com/securities/14 are down to about 500,000 left before the prices start to skyrocket. If you didnt get a nice chunk to invest beforehand you might want to look into picking some up, they are looking good for more upward growth.

Forrestv is developing P2Pool, an open source decentralized Bitcoin mining pool implementation:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/P2Pool
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/1500-th-p2pool-decentralized-dos-resistant-hop-proof-pool-18313

For this work he's been added to the bitcoinshare list:
https://github.com/Unthinkingbit/charity/blob/master/bitcoinshare.html

and will start getting devcoins from generation in round 18 (which starts at block 72,000). He will continue to get devcoins as long as he continues to develop any open source project.
