interesting site

Thank you Smiley

A little trivia; I developed the first lottery site for bitcoins (waaaay back) called The Amazing Anonymous Bitcoin Lottery, or TAABL for short, something that caught the eye of TTBit who requested a few changes to it, and we have been working together ever since. He eventually came up with the idea of DICEonCRACK and it did have a good success at the time.

It's still ticking and I have plans to improve it, but the amount of attention it gets makes it a low priority since time isn't abundant. Both sites and an anonymous ripple bridge TTBit and myself run are linked in my signature.

wager processing offline again

Hi,

Did you send a wager that didn't get processed, or was it showing the 'wager processing for BTC is offline' message?

Please excuse the bump.

An unexpected server issue is going to keep wager processing offline for all chains for the next 24 hours. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Yes, the site is up and fully functional, if a little disregarded by the community. We are actively working towards making it better, so not dead at all.

As for TRC, did it die and we missed it? I know it's an altchain, I know the exchange value is low but it is a great test coin for me. We have considered removing support for TRC if it becomes a burden, but that hasn't happened yet.

no i'm adding TRC at these levels..when the smoke clears all sha256 will be golden imo!  Grin can you explain how betting on your site works? tia

the "How to Play" describes in better detail (http://diceoncrack.com/howtoplay), but here is a quick rundown:

* Sending an amount to the "Simple" strategies is a fixed amount (0.10 TRC in this case) up to 15,000 times. You can change the threshold and exit points by the dust you send on your payment. For example sending X.XXXXX407 TRC to the simple address will look for a "magic" number less than 100 and if you ever get to 2x your initial wager, your wager loop exits.

* Martingale strategies will keep betting enough to get you positive if you win the next bet. The [BUSTO] and [EXIT] form define how you treat the situation when you have to wager more than your balance to get the desired effect.

* There is a fun reverse Matingale strategy (elagnitraM), where you keep parlaying wins until you get to an exit point.

* Minefield is quite popular. You need to make 1000 steps through a minefield. Each step defaults to a success to 99.93%, which returns (about) 2x the initial wager.

* 3 Card poker is just like the casino game. Send an amount to the address and it will simulate a 3 card poker hand.

For these games, you'll need to own the private keys that you send. Otherwise, any winnings will be sent back to the shared wallet.

Best of luck!

how long does the whole process take?  Smiley thanks!

it is automatic/immediate* (but have to wait for 1 confirm due to the site being hit with double spends)

cool good to know,  i'll try it out TRC looking good down at these prices!  Grin many thanks!

The hosting ISP is claiming the frontend has been "attacked" and shut down the site. Wager processing is unaffected. We're waiting for more information from the ISP.

it says

Quote
Wager processing for TRC is temporarily disabled, please be patient.
Wager processing for BTC is temporarily disabled, please be patient.

every few minutes,
this means the hot wallets are empty?
and can i place bets meanwhile?

thanks!

There was a weird issue with TRC handling that was preventing the wager monitor to function properly, thanks for pointing this out! That warning does not mean the hot wallets are empty, but rather that the wager monitor process didn't update that particular chain in a couple of minutes. This is sometimes normal for a few seconds, when a lot of transactions are being parsed and that takes long, but if it appears and stays for any particular chain, it's either been disabled for maintenance or there's a problem, such as it was in this case.

It is always safe to place bets, since they are registered in the blockchain and can be processed at any time.

Great game man,
now people don't need to send thousands of transactions to satoshi dice.

But i was placing a bet while i saw this

PD: i would suggest making payments only once every day,
that will stop people from drowning the hot wallet.

Can anyone explain to me why this bet was refunded?

2013-05-21 17:56:30       54c9a7c5    92ec3918    Martingale - [EXIT]    0.00700425    -----    -----    -----    -----    refunded

It looks like any ending in 25 seem to be, but the calculator tool says it is valid as less than 64000 2x exit point.

Thanks.

Sure thing. Martingale [EXIT] places 0.001 wagers when playing with BTC, so starting with your deposit of 0.00700425 it will try to place a bet to reach 0.00800425. Now, the special thing about EXIT compared to the other Martingales is that it quits early, as soon as your balance isn't enough to reach the next prize step. Each step adds 0.001 to the target outcome.

With the wager settings (425 satoshis, 1.019 multiplier, exit 2x wager, which is actually the default), in order to go from 0.00700425 to 0.00800425 you need to win 0.001. Since the win multiplier is 1.019 you'll need to bet ~0.0526, which, if you win, will give you 0.0526x1.019 ~= 0.0536, or 0.001 more than you have bet.

But you don't have 0.0526 to bet, only 0.007, so the EXIT is triggered. It's a refund because no wager was ever placed.

Hope that clears things a bit Smiley

Thanks for your help. I misunderstood it to mean that it would bet 0.001 to start and aim to win whatever that would calculate out to be.
