i have many transactions with more than 1440 confirmations, still not forging. any ideas?
You need to manually enable it. Think staking with an encrypted wallet.
how would i go about doing that?
forging now. just had to wait a bit

I started my DIRA server on ubuntu 
i need to compile from source. uploaded file doesn't work for me.
here is my server info.
IP: 108.61.89.39

another calulation which the last number is cut off dev? does the placewholder for calcs need to be a bit wider?
Last digit is "6". This and a lot of other bugs will correct in the next version that we'll soon release.

Sorry, as we said in some replies ago, the equations are not parsed so the operations have the same priority.
Click on settings at the top right of the client and click on "Peers". If your node is correctly setup you should see it.

You have just to add that line. In "my address" you should put the ip address of the host, if you use a vpn put there the ip of the vpn, in case you are hosting in your own pc you have a dynamic ip so first need to use a service like no-ip or similar in order to get a static hostname to associate everytime your ip change.
