psychological subjection, if theymos makes a pizza, many will be tempted to vote for theymos' pizza even if it's not the most beautiful pizza

to have voters who vote objectively, in my opinion, we need to publish the pizzas anonymously so people can really vote for the one they like
Someone can argue it doesn't have to be beautiful, what matter is the taste (even though they didn't even take a bite) Tongue

But I understand with your point and you're correct, however the rules say you need to post your username + date on your pizza, even it's not posted by the user, people can still know who make it.

If people don't mind with the hassle, anyone who want to join need to post in this thread, then @OP or someone else could message each user about the special code that need to be written on a piece of paper, then post it along with the pizza. So, this could prove the authenticity of the participant than just uploading the pizza without any proof.

Although, someone can still abuse it by sending personal messages to his friends/followers/gangs in social medias to vote his pizza.

That's a very good idea. Otherwise, the sympathy factor will always play a part in the vote and end up distorting the result. But how would this be possible without a lot of effort? It can't the right way that we send the pictures of our pizza to icopress by PN Wink

Does anyone have any ideas?

The hacker spirit breaks any spell
this year we really fought to have an honest pizza contest, with clear rules and so that everyone has the same chance

but something is still missing

Thanks Dad, for letting me use your monster of an oven. Also thanks for teaching me how to make bomb pizza! <3

HAPPY PIZZA DAY, YALL!

Love my bitcointalk.org brothers and sisters <3.

I used arugula to make the green price chart to represent the price of BTC going up.
I used olives to write "STONKS" which is from a meme related to enjoying a stock going up in price.
I used mushrooms to make part of the BTC symbol
I used pepperoni to make the BTC. I cooked the pepperoni separately so they would look glossier in the picture.

Another year and another time to talk about Bitcoin Pizza Day.

Can I share my study on Bitcoin Pizza Day here?

Did Laszlo Hanyecz exchange 40000 BTC for 8 pizzas, not 10000 BTC for 2 pizzas?
Laszlo Hanyecz's interview with BitcoinMagazine

Quote
To Hanyecz, who told Bitcoin Magazine that he spent something near 100,000 BTC on pizza that year, the purchase was just another drop in the bucket.

“We would just give people bitcoin on the forum,” he said — sometimes 100, sometimes 1,000 BTC at a time.

I can not make pizza but I hope my study can help people to know more about Bitcoin pizza day and how many bitcoins Hanyecz spent for pizzas.

Etc

We are all adults

This is a pretty big statement my friend.
Last year we had some bad moments I guess (I don't know if you noticed, but I voted last year's contest as the “fail fo the year” event on the BTCA).

I am sure that everything will go smoothly this year.

I think that is should be quite easy to understand what can considered as pizza and what is simply not acceptable. Last year we saw some entries that were not pizza, some them were not even cooked. As long as you have a cooked dough you should be fine.
Clearly formulated conditions of the competition will help avoid different interpretations of these very conditions.

Then it was easier to immediately write like this:

  • I reserve the right to ignore any participant for any reason.

We are all adults, if you go to a restaurant and ask for a pizza I'm pretty sure you don't expect to receive a cold plate with some random ingredients, don't you?
In different countries, on plates you will see completely different pastries disguised as pizza (to the horror of the Italians). Smiley Therefore, specifically stated conditions are the key to the transparency of the competition.

Farewell, Leo
I can smell a lot of delicious pizzas baking in the ovens right now.

If you're ordering one online, make sure to pay in "sat" instead of "BTC" when typing "10000".  Wink

  • I reserve the right to decide at my own discretion whether your baked goods are pizza or not.
Well, then you should add a description by what criteria you will evaluate the baked goods as pizza (are olives required? what about mushrooms? composition and thickness of the dough, acceptable ingredients, etc.).  Or will need to send you a piece of it by mail for tasting? Smiley

By the way I did the Italian translation.

  • Pizza should be Bitcoin pizza (Bitcointalk style is allowed).
Would adding "Bitcoin" or "Bitcointalk" from cut paper (or something similar) to any baked goods make that pizza a competition entry (as has sometimes been done in past cooking competitions)?

The prize fund is generous and for that reason there will be many entries trying to win but there will also be many fake entries, that is for sure as we have seen this happen to nearly every competition in the past. It is akin to a triple foray for account-farmers because if they fail to win any of the prizes they will still hope to receive merits and that does help as they try to rank up. Also, they will try to have their farmed-accounts blend in with genuine members via disingenuous camaraderie.

A photo of a completed yet uncooked pizza in the oven is a good idea as would be multiple photos during the preparation process. It would be interesting to see how the fake entries deal with this. If they get caught out, they will receive negative tags for cheating therefore even the multiple-account (and account-farming) operators will be taking calculated risks when using one or some of their accounts to enter the competition.

Perhaps one of the proof, could be a photo of the pizza in the oven while still raw.

  • Post at least 2 photos: [1] Photo of Pizza + username and date [2] Photo of Pizza in the making Note

There is of-course a downside to this. We have seen a huge number of fake entries in previous competitions therefore do you have any plans set in place to ensure those cheating do not get anywhere near the prize fund?

Discussion allowed!

I can't boil an egg but when my wife heard she could get 1000$ by baking a pizza, her eyes tripled in size.

Not sure she'll get anything as the competition is fierce, but at least I'll be getting a pizza Grin

Well, I hadn't thought about that perspective.
My wife will certainly also think it's an excellent idea to win $200... She doesn't have to know that the maximum prize is $1000.  Cool

Well, I'll see if I can buy the ingredients and ask for her help. Maybe I'll participate this time.

Good pizzas for everyone!  Wink

Is this thread visible in the News space here on BitcoinTalk? Right now, this is the only thing I always see: News: Latest Bitcoin Core release: 27.0 [Torrent] I hope it can be placed again like before so other members here on BitcoinTalk are aware.

Since we also remember Bitcoin Pizza Day on BitcoinTalk, it might be a good idea to take this quiz about BitcoinTalk again.

I love seeing the community come together to celebrate such a fun and historic event, this story never gets old.

A special shoutout to everyone who makes this event possible, it’s a great tradition. And even if I don't enter the contest, I’m looking forward to seeing all the creative Bitcoin-themed pizzas everyone comes up with. Good luck to everyone who enters!

Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day to everyone!
