Hey icopress, first of all, I'd like to thank you for organizing the contest this year! Also, organizing it on the forum instead of another platform makes things easier for some forum users which, perhaps, did not want to create accounts on other platforms in order to participate.

Second of all, I'd like to thank to the sponsors. The prizes are extremely attractive and I believe there will be many participants.

Third of all, I proposed this topic for being translated inside AOBT group, for giving a hand of help in making it more popular. In any case, no matter of my proposal will be accepted or not, I will translate it in Romanian.

Good luck to all participants!

I can't boil an egg but when my wife heard she could get 1000$ by baking a pizza, her eyes tripled in size.

Not sure she'll get anything as the competition is fierce, but at least I'll be getting a pizza Grin

EDIT: pizza is done, you can see more of it here:

First time making a Bitcoin pizza. Family ate it within 3 confirmations. The Bitcoin symbol was a delicious bread mixture. First time eating a Bitcoin as well.

Thank you, Laszlo!

It’s great to see bitcointalk pizza baking contest on the forum. I’m a big fan of these contests. The pie baking contest was exploited a lot by alt accounts and cheaters, most of them were later caught due to similarities in their work and background. Is there a rule for those who can participate?

Also, not everyone visits meta, I think you should send Theymos a pm about putting the topic link on the home page so everyone can see it.

But I love my cheeses to be high fat and super stretchy  Wink

Me too, but unfortunately high fat % equals to cheese that melts way too easily for it to keep the shape you created.

There must be some compromise and recommended cheese brand-type for that.
The only compromise I can think of is to put cheese like mozarella (which is imho the best cheese for pizza) at the end, with only 1 or two minutes left but that means cheese won't be properly cooked. Tough choice. Cheesy

Happy to see another Pizza Day competition is now in Bitcointalk forum.
I am not using discord much these days, and this should reduce chances for cheating if we exclude brand new accounts and inactive newbies.

+1. I would also recommend to use some type of low fat percentage cheese like for example Milner that can withstand ~5 minutes in the oven as 250-275 celsius while still tasting good on pizza.

Great to see bitcointalk pizza bake-off moving from Discord to forum!

Last time I had to miss the contest but this year I'll try to make one of the Italian mafia bitcointalk members win a little bit harder.  Wink

Let me give advice ... while preparing Bitcoin pizza with my family for the third year in a row, I came to the conclusion that it is better to add Bitcoin symbols after the pizza has been in the oven for 7/10 minutes. If you add BTC symbols right away, they start to bake heavily long before the pizza is ready.[/i]

Am excited to participate in this pizza contest. For me, it's a privilege.

The ingredients used includes:
1. Irish potatoes
2. Eggs
3. Fresh tomatoes
4. Fresh red pepper
5. Green-ball pepper
6. White onions
7. Vegetable oil
8. Salt.

Procedure for preparation of my bitcoin pizza:
Started by peeling and slicing the Irish potatoes in small sizes, fried for it to get softened then followed with mashing it a beat. Removed it from the pan into a bowl (allowed it to cool off a bit) then I added my eggs, onion, red pepper, tomatoes, a pinch of salt then  steer till it all get mixed.

Poured it back to the pan to bake for a few minutes after which I had to slice some tomatoes and green-ball pepper for decoration of the surface. The BTC logo design was done using green-ball pepper.
It was really fascinating for me throughout the process.

Happy to see this contest running again! Very nice prize btw!

I will participate this year, I have been training myself for a long time now to do nice pizzas with the assistance of my Italian wife Cool Good luck everyone, cannot wait to see your creations!

Edit 20.05: it's time for pizza guys  Cheesy

Everything is homemade, the dough of course, as well as the tomato sauce.  Smiley

The ingredients for the dough are always the same: water, olive oil, wheat flour, baking powder and salt, of course.

For the tomato sauce base, I used tomatoes, garlic, onion, oregano and other aromatic herbs, and spices (chilli, salt, pepper, herbes de Provence).

The sauce is cooked and the pastry rests under a light drizzle of olive oil (Some ingredients, such as chorizo, are for another pizza):

For the garnish, I chose Parma ham, mozzarella, red peppers, onion strips and spices.

The BTC is made from pizza dough. I precooked it so that it was solid, then added it to the pizza a few minutes before the end of cooking.

The pizza was very good, and I had a lot of fun making it for the contest! Good luck to all!  Smiley

Every year on May 22, the Bitcoin community celebrates Bitcoin Pizza Day. The day when a forum user under the nickname Laszlo paid 10,000 BTC for two Papa John’s pizzas (in reality, according to Laszlo himself, he spent about 50,000 Bitcoins on buying pizzas). Therefore, this contest is a great opportunity to test your culinary skills and become part of the established tradition when Bitcoiners delight themselves and their loved ones with delicious pizza. 🍕

       What about prizes?

This year's sponsors were BC.Game, BitcoinGirl and Theymos (if anyone feels that they also want to be on this list please let me know). Please note that Bitcointalk Pizza Day 2024 is not an official event and is a community event. There will be 5 winners who will share a prize fund of $2,500 in Bitcoin.
