I'm afraid that at this point it's complicated to fix things: I didn't know this IRV system and many users probably didn't know it either, I actually had to look it up on Wikipedia to see what it was. And since the rules simply ask you to vote up to 5 pizzas, that is what people will do.
I don't think that its so complicated to fix it as all that is needed is for icopress to just add a short explanation and then people can simply edit their votes.
In that case all those who voted in numerical order should be contacted via PM to inform them about this rule. But I'm not sure people will actually pay attention to the rules because I see users with almost no merits voting anyway, and as we can see people keep voting in numerical order, this is the last one for example:
I vote for: #39, #50, #57, #73, #87
Maybe Xal0lex actually wanted to vote in that exact order, it's possible, but do you believe it? The most natural thing is to write down the numbers and submit them, if you want to make a preference list than you need to double check all the numbers to see which pizza is the most and least favorite.

In my opinion this system is overcomplicated for this type of contest and it penalizes the pizzas with the highest number (and what I'm saying goes against my own interest because my number is not that high).

If this piece of information is so crucial, why not report it clearly?
Agreed. It really should be explained clearly in the OP (of the voting topic, that is), otherwise a lot of people are going to be surprised by the outcome, I think...

With IRV (as I understand it, which is not very well), the counting process begins by considering each voter's first choice, and only when a >50% majority isn't obtained by looking at first-choices-only do the other choices start to factor into the algorithm. So, it's very important that voters think carefully about the order of their picks (IRV belongs to the so-called "ordinal" class of voting methods).

IMHO, a nice/fun way to do the voting (maybe next year?) that's cardinal rather than ordinal would be to give each voter 100 "points" to spend, and then allow them to distribute those points between (up to) 5 candidates. (But I haven't thought deeply about it, so maybe there's some result from social choice theory that invalidates this method.)

Bear in mind that not every browser correctly render that code.
I am currently browsing via my iPhone, and of course I cannot see it, and I am almost sure the same is from Safari on MacOS.
I just checked it and I can't see it on Firefox/Chrome on my android mobile phone either so probably all those that are primarily using mobile phone missed that part.

By the way, I am replying to your post here so we don't clutter the voting thread with this dicussion.

I am not sure if it is against the rules, but at least it seems to be against moral....
----
Regarding the italian board (@fillippone, @verdinio, @giorgione, @giammangiato, @mendace, @xenomorfo, @bastisisca) i can only appeal to vote for aesthetics and creativity and not for the honor of your national flag. I personally see #42 as a runaway favourite, but i guess i am going to remove it from my list as a sign of protest.  Roll Eyes

dude, i cant vote Smiley if you see my merits, i am new

I am not sure if it is against the rules, but at least it seems to be against moral....

Please note that any contest entrant is not allowed to agitate for their pizza or veiledly ask anyone to vote for you.

Code:
I vote for: #42, #103, #106

Code:
I vote for: 42, 103, 106

Code:
I vote for: #42, #103, #106

Code:
I vote for: #42, #103, #106

To my mind this contest should be about celebrating bitcoin and it's traditions. With Bitcoin as a kind of world currency there should be no place for nationalism, not even the italian one in a pizza contest.

As of the moment, it looks like Pizza #22 is leading the voting. I love how Icopress didn't put the name of who made every pizza. It requires little bit of effort to find out who made Pizza #22. Goodluck to everyone who participated this contest!

and it’s uncooked or half cooked pizza pic Sad

Edit: Ahh I’m sorry I’m wrong about #22 but there are some uncooked pizzas

That’s another thing that annoys… why uncooked pizza pictures are allowed to receive votes.

I believe only cooked pizzas should be considered for the final voting.

If your “pizza art” ends in disaster after cooking, it doesn’t mean you should get votes on your uncooked pictures.

Icopress himself clearly hinted at this point in the competition announcement thread, stating to add your bitcoin art at a later stage of pizza cooking.

[...] Or maybe Icopress moved it to the Reputation thread to avoid confusion (separating it from the voting board) or just accidentally moved it. Well, let's wait for Icopress's explanation of why this thread is here.
Absolutely right.

So, are we voting for our own pizza?
This is allowed, but if I were you I wouldn't do it.  Cheesy

Why are we discussing Bitcoin Pizza Day here on the Reputation board while the voting is live on Meta?

It seems many people are still unaware.

Yeah, I'm surprised this was moved to the Reputation board. Only two people can move this thread, right? Icopress or any of the Bitcointalk (Mods, Admin, Staff). Theymos doubled the limit! This means that I will soon publish a vote!

Thanks again everyone for the great advice.

I'm glad the situation has now been resolved or minimized.
But, next year, you already know that you can count on my help. Wink

On a more serious note: I was hoping to use the voting to also Merit a lot of pizzas, but that won't work with the anonymous voting. I was hoping to exclude the disqualified pizzas by not going through the thread.

They are not exactly anonymous, they are all here in this thread.  Roll Eyes But all this research would be a lot of work.

Can I afford not to vote for my wife's pizza?

Friends, thank you all for your participation. I will need several days to prepare the thread for voting and organize everything in such a way that various factors do not affect the objectivity. Also, please don't be offended if someone's baked goods are not included in the voting. This will just mean that your baked goods are more consistent with the criteria of a vegetable pie than a pizza.

Excellent icopress... much needed update I guess... even me when I saw those "creative" designs I was asking my self... is that pizza?

But, were there 120 participations? I don't think so.
About 125 people took part in the contest. And if you group several images, then each of us will be confused by so much visual data... so I followed the path of 1 image per 1 user (this way we got 2 posts of 56 images each).

120/125 so 5 participants didn't meet the pizza criteria?

Just saw the voting thread. So its 112/125 and 13 participants didn't meet the criteria?

  • You can vote for 5 pizzas Note.
  • You can edit your post (your vote) until the thread is locked.
  • You must have 50 earned merits to vote Note.

So, are we voting for our own pizza?

Congratulations to everyone and good luck.

Friends, who has encountered this? I've been working on bbcode for the last 10 hours and everything was fine... I took a break to drink some tea and see that all the images I uploaded today are now displayed incorrectly (more than 120 images).

Imgbb hosting used

Imgbb has autodelete-drop-down menu on their upload page which sets the time frame to hold downloaded image. Is there a chance that you blindly set it  for too low  value and downloaded your images?  If not  then it was probably a bug from their part.

As other suggested, to be on the safe side, use talkimg instead of imgbb.

Good day, icopress. I used to use imgbb.com for uploading images, but since some time it started to work badly and images are not displayed on the forum. I recommend using forum photo hosting talkimg.com, which is a good alternative. You should not have any problems with it. If still the problem persists, in that case you should contact the admin.

If the images are alone, do they appear?
Really 120 images being requested at the same time can cause connection to the server to be cut by the proxy.
I posted 1 image in this thread (above) but I can't see it. While I was editing the bbcode and adding new images everything was fine. I added the last one .. I saved it (everything was ok) and when I returned and refreshed the page, I saw that everything was displayed with an error.

Hey! The last picture is a very important one! Please don’t skip it only to make your table work correctly! Cheesy

My suggestion is using talkimg. You can even upload many pictures at a time.
