Even if it just changes peoples perspective on how we look at value and currency they have done their job. It is almost like we have gone back to the bartering days. But instead of cows and fur, we have data and crypto.

That's right, because of the impact of Bitcoin's value growth today, investors move to altcoins. And alt coins will create history in the world of cryptocurrency.

If government agree about altcoins it has a great future that every country legalize about altcoins but the government don't agree it also has a great future because government cannot control that because we are holding our own money. Even if we look in a different angle altcoins do really have a future.

Yes they have a future ,but it depends in the altcoins , if the altcoins have that value , it has the potential to grow in the future , but if the altcoins have no value at all just leave it there , and it is not worth it to keep . Its just you are waiting for nothing. Many altcoins has the good future in cryptocurrency world in the future. It is just a matter of choosing the good ones.

I agree with that but as long it is use by people who want to keep their coin to that currency and ICO is using it. Maybe it has future in this coming years and can change the people thinking about altcoins.

Not all alt coins have future but good ones like ripple, ethereum, IOTA do!

it looks like the future of altcoin depends on the ongoing roadmap or the calendar events associated with the altcoin
And whereas altcoin that even after entering the famous exchange,nd after that there's no news will just be dust
Then before you buy altcoin you should see the background of that coin, maybe you can start from when they become ICO, you can see their roadmap, their project, and so on. indeed there are altcoins to die because dev aim only once pump then do not have any price in the market, so be careful to choose a potential altcoin, but I see a lot of ico keep coming and then become altcoin, i think altcoin will still exist and have future, yeah agree but not altcoin have future, just a potential altcoin only that have future

The number one of this altcoins was no doubt it is Ethereum, then next unto it was Waves, I think Neo also, Adx and Maid or Bay. But I don't trust in Ripple its just a piace of shit to me, I knew many of their investors got cried investing unto. Sorry for the words which I had bestowed on this altcoins.

From altcoins new features and innovation spring, where experimentation and novelty have more freedom than in established coins. But do they have a future? If the best features keep being absorbed by existing coins, then no matter how grateful we should be the laws of economy dictate the most popular coins will turn the altcoins obsolete.

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.
Op, there are other altcoins that has a greater future ahead and not just ethereum and litecoin as you mentioned above. We all know that Bitcoin has a greater future ahead and the transaction fee you were complaining about is not a major issue in recent time any more for even ethereum also required gas for your transactions to be completed.  Please check my current signature Veritium for more details as i see greater future ahead of the project.

In fact, I would tend to think that the future belongs to the altcoins, taking into account the great limitations that bitcoin has today. If we keep in mind that outside the bitcoin all the other cryptocurrencies are "altcoins", it is unquestionable that with the passage of time the current economy will be able to open the door to cryptos that can satisfy the needs of a growing and increasingly demanding market, and proof of this is that of the 20 most used coins in the world, three of them are cryptos (Bitcoin, ethereum and bitcoin cash).

I think there is so much potential in alts because of the functions behind the tech. For example, the bee token is decentralizing Airbnb with blockchain and making great changes like transparency, zero commissions, and swift dispute resolution. For them to come in and better the platform and business model already is a huge gamechanger. https://www.thebeetoken.com/
yep, right sir, but r u talkin right now about some exact or in general?

Datadash did a good video on this recently comparing bitcoin to the dotcom bubble. Interesting to see comparison between the old internet big hitters like Lycos, alta vista, geocities!

I imagine in 5 years time some of these altcoins will still be around, maybe 1 or 2 will become the Ebay/Google/Amazons of the world but majority will buy up / merge and do whatever they can to survive before they'll finally die. Not to say they won't be big but can't see those lasting 10+ years.

I think not all altcoins have a future. it depends on how big the investment goes into the project. if many are investing in the project then certainly altcoin project has a good future.
its also depends on the general idea of that, is it gonna find its usability or neither not
