When I got the first idea of Bitcoin, then I also had a similar question. Now I know the future of Bitcoin. Therefore, the future of altcoin can be said. Currently many coins are seen in front of us. But it is difficult to say the future of these coins. Because BTC and They do not have a future like ETH. But everyone can invest by thinking. There are many coins, which will be stabilized like ETH. Like DESH etc. So can say Altcoins has its future.

yes, power ledger for example...
Off course it's a yes, if the bitcoin have a very bright future, altcoins will also have a bright future, eventhough altcoins is always second for the best and bitcoin is the best, altcoins can really come up and can really improve also like the bitcoin can do, And i think in the future altcoins will also have a higher value.

Undoubtly they have it. It's not even a thing to question at all. Another one is - what future do they have? I think the answer is: good future, maybe even better than BTC's future, because they are way more versatile and they are always up to date.

I dont think altcoins have long future. Bitcoin has basically all the media attention right now and i dont see that changing.

I totally not agree with that point. Ethereum is an altcoin and it has way more perspectives than Bitcoin which is obvious. While BTC is only used for payments, ETH runs times as more payments, so it could store value too, but also it represents ecosystem where dapps and smart-contract exist. So, for me it is mostly the question how long people will believe in BTC only because of its media coverage.

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.
That's not a good impression to altcoins, especially to litecoin and ethereum. Ok, let's say bitcoin has really a strong foundation since it was the first cryptocurrency ever created, but look at ethereum and litecoin which hold the second and third place for the most valuable (and best cryptocurrency), respectively.

Ethereum is known for its unique source. A lot of token ICOs are now appearing and these tokens will not be here without the ethereum contract. Also, ethereum has always been on the rise when it comes to its value.

Litecoin, on the other hand, is known for its fast transaction speed. This is what makes litecoin unique and is an ideal altcoin to use when your are on a business that needs a lot of transactions. Although its value has dropped from almost 0.02BTC last month to 0.012BTC this month, it has maintained its value in the market and I think, it only needs time for its unique features to be known by most.

I think there are use cases for certain alt coins, Bitcoin can incorporate features of other alt coins, but there are coins that are fundamentally different like Vertcoin (Asic Resistant), DASH (Governance Model), Monero (Private/Anonymous)

Not all altcoyins have a future. I think that within a few years, only 10-20% of the total diversity will remain. The remaining projects will be forgotten or abandoned. A good product must have value, if it does not exist, the market will exclude it.

Some would say a coin exists if the blockchain is alive and running, not letting the market decide what does or doesn't exist.

Do Altcoins really have a future?
This is basically a synonym of do companies that deploy tokens have future?
And the answer is simple - a few have, the others don't. Just like in the traditional economy - in every sector, you can find a few leading companies, a bunch of second best, some niche and a whole lot of failures.
This. The amount of failed startups is staggeringly high.

I think something like 9 out of 10 startups just never make it past the first few months, let alone years.

And they only get funding after a lot of due diligence has been done. Meanwhile in crypto everything gets funded because people don't know how to judge the quality of a project.

So surely there'll be even more failures in crypto than in traditional business.
And if you add scammers into the mix that never had any intention to create a working product and are only creating icos in order to subtract money form their investors then the ratio is even worst in fact it is surprising anything gets done in crypto when you take all those factors into consideration.

Why not? Nowadays, many products use altcoin, or token for ICOs. It's real.
It think altcoin is like bitcoin also because if we spread the knowledge about alt coins too the price will become heigher also so hold also an altcoins because if the bitcoin have threat to die it is the one who can exchange by bitcoin and also it is the next generation.

I think altcoins is another form of a share stock in the future. The company going to ICO like IPO. Investor invest in the company will be paid dividend each year or they are part of the company. So Altcoins will have a bright future if we know how to use this.

In my opinion there will become a time that one of the alts will gain mass adoption and will have a real world value to everyone and may even replace bitcoin as the number 1 crypto.

Yes there are many coins that are legit and their value goes in plus but you can just guess which one you have to buy.. But altcoins are to be bought after analyzing their position atleast from last 2,3months of todays market.
