I am thinking to buy a new computer. Fun. Wondering what you guys use?

Any special computer or just any ol' machine will do?! Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Do you have a VPN or a personal Hotspot?

What Virus Protection do you use?  How about... Mac Afee?

Mac or a DELL?Huh Cool Cool
I can’t bring my laptop anywhere I go because of the weight so I decided to buy a good phone which is more convenient to use. Laptop is good for using many indicators and for a hardcore trader, but if not better to buy good phone, which you don’t need wifi to use because of the data available on your plan.

No more Rekt and Bust
Having both laptop and fast smartphone is necessary for every trader. It is almost impossible to continue trading with phone screen,so let's accept facts straightly. Laptop with the latest processor and at least 8 GB of Video card is required for running multiple platforms.

I'm looking at Laptop prices.... Expensive!!  We are talking a Cool $400 MiniMum.  Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

I can DO $400 but I would rather get it cheaper than that. How?Huh  This is some serious Green. but worth it
If your budget can't afford to buy a new laptop with these specifications then go for used or refurbished laptops under 400 bucks. You need to give something for getting the same value. After a few profitable trades, you can put back the same amount to your pocket Wink

You'd also need an adequate processor and ram. It's bonkers how overwhelming certain web pages are on a piece of crap 2gb intel atom machine.

Tell me About IT!!  I am seeing these 4GB RAM laptops.  My needs are at least 8GB.  Im thinking it will need to be brand spankin new.

Should I order one online?? Amazon?? What model?? It looks like I am leaning towards not getting a Mac because they are so pricey.. It'd be Cool to get a laptop, then attach a seperate mini monitor... to have Dual Monitors but Portable so it fits in a little travel case. This new setup I get will be BOSS.

Crypto is King.
Yes a laptop or desktop will work fine. Laptops can use windows updated antivirus and so can desktops. Both should be able to handle charts and trading websites too. With laptops though you have the added ability of putting it on your lap Smiley helps strain your back much less than having to sit in front of a desktop always.

I'd never use anything other than a computer with a decently sized screen. I've no idea how anyone manages on phones but I am pretty old. Many apps deny features a computer has access to.

Since you'll be logging in and out of sites that hold amounts of your money if you can afford it it's best to keep a dedicated laptop that isn't used to access generalised websites. You never know what you may pick up out there.

Bitcoin FTW!
I typically use a Windows laptop or desktop to trade with since it's so much easier to navigate sites and execute trades with a mouse and keyboard compared to tapping away on a phone or tablet; I'm aware there's also Windows tablets out there, but I've already got a pretty capable laptop to use with trading on the go. I've never been a fan of having a hundred monitors, but I have three total monitors on my home desktop setup with the main one being a 144hz Viewsonic panel I also use for gaming and the other two are generic 21.5" 60hz screens at 1080p.

I don't personally use an AV as I don't download or click on anything potentially suspicious on my trading laptop, and using common sense should be enough to keep 99% of malware away. The brand of my laptop is actually Acer and it's the Nitro 5 to be specific; I like to game on the go too and the GTX 1050ti in the laptop is just fine for that purpose.

I have this same idea you have in the past and that makes me to buy many tools that I did not need to trading with .  The computer you are using for trading does not matter and what matters is the skills and understand you have concerning trading.

How about just trading with............ Iphone or a smart phone device???  Yes/no??

I logged into Binance with my iPhone and iPad and it just does not fully work no matter what I do.
It is better to use your own PC to do trading because you can clearly see the charts, graphs, buy and sell etc.

This poster knows what they are talking about! booya

Some application from the desktop computer will not be the same when it comes to a phone when using. It is better to use your own PC to do trading because you can clearly see the charts, graphs, buy and sell etc. And you can automatically search what you want to know, a phone is just for verification purposes only, so better keep it in touch with you.

#SWGT PRE-SALE IS LIVE

What I just need is an updated browser that I can use to load the exchanges. But if you are going to do trading every hour of the day, you would rather be buying a good android phone where you can install the app of your favorite exchange so that even when you just wake up, you can peak to the movement of the prices. This will save you time from booting the computer to loggin to your accounts.

Desktop, Laptops are way more comfortable when doing trades as you can see the whole interface of the trading site. You can also do it on mobile or tablet but you will noticed the difference. But for a trader who used to do trades on either of each platforms, that's not really a big deal.

You can answer the question without asking some advices from us. It's your money. You can buy a new machine if you want. It's not just for trading purposes but for other activities as well. Just make sure you will target a semi decent build so that you can enjoy your new stuff.

Do you have a VPN or a personal Hotspot?

Don't use VPN in exchange especially if you will used an other country IP. It's quiet a suspicious activity if you have a logged from different country. Stick with your ISP. If such case that the exchanges don't support your country, you have no choice but to used or other exchanges or used a VPN but this time, you need to stick with the country IP you have chosen.

I logged into Binance with my iPhone and iPad and it just does not fully work no matter what I do.

What do you mean by "it just does not fully work no matter what I do."? Can you elaborate the problem?

Laptop or no laptop, if you have an android phone you are good to trade. Moreover, you can carry your phone about and keep doing your business. Having a laptop is good at least for home trade but laptop does not do the trading alone, you are the one that matters.

Really not confident to understand this is off topic or trading question.

If you want to learn about the computer and security things you can just Google about it. Really confused on these things.

Trading using laptop or computer is just the same as long as you have the internet since the trading platforms are web based and you don't need to install it so it doesn't matter if you're going to trade via a PC or a Laptop.

The only advantage of using a laptop in trading is that no matter where you are (On a break in your office, on a out of town trip, cafe, etc.) you can use your laptop in order to do trading as long as you have an internet connect but... there are some exchanges that has their own ios and android application wherein you can trade using the applications on your mobile phone.

Do you have a VPN or a personal Hotspot?
I think VPN is an optional if the trading platform or cryptocurrency is illegal to your country but you can always use VPN for personal security.

What Virus Protection do you use?  How about... Mac Afee?
Antivirus has no connection when doing trading or when in the trading platform... I think the question that will fit in here is that "What kind of security you're using when doing trading"

The security features the most traders are using are the 2FA or a two-factor authentication, also known as two-step verification or let's say a second password and you needed a authenticator application to use this.
