I saw a thread earlier asking about Philippine based or targeted coins, and there have been a few attempts at a country coin. Is this really something that we are interested in?

The purposes for others was for remittances, for general investing, for bills payments and banking, for OFWs, for rewards, for points.

Would we like something similar to Bitcoin ATMs where you can buy and sell on a machine?

Do we want a free airdrop? Or an ICO? Or a mixture of both? (Bounties of course will be available.)

Discuss.

For me i would like some but we have to consider other people that are part of the community,  we should inform them first so that many will use it and it will not go to vain. I think compare to the population of the philippines only a few percent do know and earn bitcoin.

i don't think if its okay in our country since our country doesn't support cryptocurrency instead they don't want people to invest in crypto which they find a fraud or laundering scheme but they don't even know what did crypto done to the people in our country it actually helps us to earn even in our house instead of working away from our family . Some already made crypto coin in our country but after a while they fell  and got bankrupt becaause no one supports it . no media partners as well no strong hold . Coin needs to be supported with big companies or any sponsors , and media partners so it will be a well known coin .

The coin, if ever, would at the start of course be centralized, in this case I'll be in the center, so eh, ganun talaga eh. Eventually it will have its own life, maybe a separate foundation or entity where I'm still around but have no powers if people kick me out, and maybe it's own governance model. I don't know. I'll help it jump start, but then the community will take over.

While I am not against MLM, it's not something that's on the agenda, it's not something I would tolerate too. They can use their own system or they can exist in the fiat system the way they do now anyway. The idea of selling shoes and having left or right doesn't make sense to me, but other systems do, but those are off-topic already.

if people in that part of the industry would want to use the coin for their business, i think we won't have any control over that. after all, binili naman nila yung coin. but the dev of the coin, in this case, si siir @Dabs, siguro hindi na nya yan pasukin. sa akin may aversion ako sa mlm type na coin. parang nakadalawang sali ako nyan, parehong naglaho. pwede ko bang banggitin dito para reference or wag na lang kasi off topic siya. anyway, independent si coin jan sa mga gagamit nito sa mlm. if gamitin nila, let them, makakatulong yan para mapalawig ang coin natin.

I say we do need a crypto coin of ours that has a 1:1 ratio to the PHP value. This way we can go cashless and buy other cryptos instantly and securely. The purpose of this 1:1 coin is to completely replace our paper money. Then, this way we can start more crypto related projects. Plus! Heck, we got good accounting and no more effin corruption.

No one can create a coin that is pegged to a fiat value except the government or big corporations, and that's not something we like to force ourselves into. Sure there are bitshares-USD and USDT (tether), but notice that they also don't have the exact dollar or fiat value, it's still fluctuating a bit. The price is controlled, but eventually it will either go out of control, or is heavily centralized anyway, eh di sana yung banko sentral na lang ang gumawa ng coin.

There is a proposal in congress I think. I also think that's not going anywhere. The current administration is focused on law and order, on corruption, on drugs, on other things we shouldn't worry about. The next government will have other problems that we also shouldn't worry about. Until they say something crypto related, we don't mind them.

The bounties or airdrops must be of the coin itself. If people dump them, that's their loss. It should be something that instills value in itself, not deriving it from outside except in the case of PoW mining.

Tokens hosted on other platforms (such as ETH or WAVES or QTUM or ETC) are out of the question, I won't do it then. You are relying on the platform, and anything that affects those networks like cat games or something ...

i agree, we can't follow that ratio kasi dynamic ang market so ang price will never be fixed at a specific rate. the default cryptocurrency pair will always be against btc like if our coin will be named Dabs Coin (example lang) with ticker DBS, ang pair will be DBS/BTC. so yung rate ng DBS is determined by its comparison to BTC. kung mag dump sila, naturally, bababa ang btc value nung DBS coin natin (example lang yung DBS baka isipin nyo yan na ang name!).

Probably like a token that can be use in smart contract... something that will suit the need of a Filipino(not just  to have a huge profit) pwedeng CHARITY in the form of cryptocurrency or CROWDFUNDING....Since ang purpose ng blockchain or cryptocurrency is not to trust anyone, so pwedeng tanggalin ang mga buwaya na politiko at banks sa equation kung gusto mong maiabot ang tulong directly sa mga nangangailangan....

hindi na natin kailangan ang sariling coin, because bitcoin is already established and widely used internationaly. It is hard to established like that.

Why not we can have it all in our country? We can have Airdrop and ICO at the same time. We can have our campaign so we can also earn some of bitcoin. We can have them all as much as we can if we can manage our time for all of them, but don't force yourself.

But i dont see any point putting up a coin kung bitcoin palang wala ideya ang karamihan dito sa pilipinas
