I don't always invest in top ranked coins because i belief that new projects can easily surpass old projects so i invest in very good new altcoins with good potential and i belief they will give me better profits in future than top ranked coins
Not really that sure you are talked about. top ranked are good for investing because we need volumes for thatand to be sure when you invested one new token for put inside your money with knowledge about token project and for mitigation from scamer

For beginners, this is a good approach because there are many scams in the crypto world, and the top cryptocurrencies have a lot of market-tested. There are fewer scams.

Hello, it is normal to be shy when deciding on what type of currency to invest.
Current finance studies position moderates as Bitcoin (leader in the digital market) and Monero (which is experiencing its greatest growth), as the best options to invest.
https://www.mintme.com Allows you to invest at a low cost and make great profits, plus it has a referral program with which you earn commissions.
Yeah you are just shilling out your mintme.com website. I'll tell you this, no one would invest into projects which doesnt really give out something new or simply a copy-cat on most project now existing.
Giving out assurance into its investors is really already a negative sign for the to believe. So please stop on what you are talking and make your own thread to shill out.

On the topic, investing on top ranked coins does give out some confidence when it comes to long term aspect,it might not give you x100-x1000 returns but this is more worthy to invest on.

Maybe the main choice that you have to do is look at the development of the coin price you want to invest. because what I know so far, most of the coins that occupy the top ranks, such as Bitcioin and ethereum always occupy the top ranking, because they always have stable prices, and if the price problem goes down, in my opinion it is normal in trading.bitcoin and ethereum is a your good choice I think.

I prefer to make an investment on top ranked coins. In my opinion top ranked coins has more chance to earn more profit and more sustainable than the others. I also feel more secure to invest on top ranked like bitcoin and ethereum.

Most of your portfolio should comprise of top 30 coins, with at least a quarter being bitcoin. Trading low market coins is a risky strategy but more profitable if you are lucky, many going 10x in a week

I noticed that today a lot of projects freeze their coins until there is a better situation in the cryptocurrency market.  There is no trading volume, but this does not mean that this project or the coin will not have good prospects in the future.  Let's better wait for good results after the market recovers.  But nevertheless, we must take into account that focusing all investments only on rating cryptocurrencies can also bring some benefits for mini important coins.  The fact is that if Bitcoin and ethereum, for example, reaches its maximum, then users of cryptocurrency will be more willing to invest these coins in another cryptocurrency.

Hi Everyone,

As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.

Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?

Stay in the top-ranked coins. Check its volume and choose which has a cheap price among them then start playing on them.
If you are trying to learn the basics of crypto investing, always think of the top rank coins to avoid frustrations. All the frustrations are already in the top-ranked cryptos so because of that, these made them solid and landed them on the top list. If you are choosing newbie coins, there are no possibilities it can continue on existing with the market because there are still no huge supporters to back them up. It will just freeze in the trading platform until no volume to see in them.

Yes sure, top-ranked coins are always my first choice, I invest Bitcoin, Ethruem, BttcoinCash, Monero. Besides these, I also invested some good alts, Historia, Cardano, Tron, Ontology, Dogecoin. I believe it is a good way to combine some top coins with some good alts.

Right, top ranked coins guarantee safe to be a long-term investment, if the marketcap has reached more than $ 1 billion then devs. have a large capital power so that they will keep the coin from dying.
actually it doesn't need to be that high, when the trade is still being carried out, and the demand for these coins is still there and continues to grow that will keep the coins in the market. because actually this market only needs efforts from developers to continue to update as an effort to maintain market demand continues to be high.
True, it will give better profit if you find a good coin which are low in marketcap now.

I am sure there's still a lot of undervalued coins in the market now, we have to exert an effort in researching as all of us here wants better profit, but most of us here does not have a big capital to earn a decent profit. Low marketcap coins could generate big profit so it's also worth risking for with our money.

Yes, you are right it is always good to invest in potential coins which have active trading and active updates about their progress will always help the coin to increase their value, once the market starts recovering. We have to find those coins when the market situation is in completely down.

My question is, does it always work?
It's not. Top ranked coins means they are well known in the community, it doesn't mean they are "always" good to invest. Still, even though they are the top one you have to look at the market and don't even try to hear anyone that ask you to invest in "X" coins if you are not willing to.

I consider myself a conservative investor, so I am one of those who have the majority of their capital in the top ranked coins. And obviously I'm not an exception, it's enough to see coinmarketcap to find out that 90% of the money invested in cryptos is in the first top-20.

It is true that many times I have tried new, "promising" coins, but in most cases my results have been very bad, so as a rule I only spend less than 10% of my investment capital on new coins.

Lets just say i invest 70% of my resources to top coins and 30% to risk in other coins. You should not just risk it all to make difference. Just playing safe but profitable ia also enough. As long as there is an income comming through your wallet then all of your strategies are good.

I generally don't take a coin's market cap into consideration when I'm thinking about buying it.  Popularity, historical prices, and the strength of the community are usually the factors I look at.  But anyway, there are a lot of altcoins with much lower market caps than they had a couple of years ago, and I think there are a handful of them which are worth buying and holding.  A great deal of them are worth buying and trading in the short-term.  The altcoin market right now looks really attractive to me, because prices seem to be quite low--the question is whether any given coin is going to rebound.

I am sure there's still a lot of undervalued coins in the market now
I hear "undervalued" being used a lot with respect to cryptocurrencies, and it drives me nuts.  There's no way to put a value on any of these coins the way you can with things like stocks, which represent businesses that have earnings, pay dividends, etc.  The only tool you can really use to analyze cryptocurrencies is TA, and I'm an extreme skeptic of that method.  On the other hand, as I said above I do think that a lot of coins are trading at relatively low prices and might be worth buying (if you think they have a chance at climbing their way back to their previous ATHs).  If you call that "undervalued", we can agree on it.

Their rank corresponds to their market capitalization. Good new tokens have a smaller market cap, and they are in 100+ places. It does not mean that you must not invest in them. Vice versa, they can bring you more.
I think that even before the end of 2019 we will see a real shift in the cryptocurrency market, when Yes, even the less famous cryptocurrencies will raise their price.  The fact is that the role is not played by the rating in the market-store, but by the real potential of the team and the interest of the project in society.

For a beginner like you, you have to invest in top 10 marketcap coin. They are relatively stable than the small marketcap alts. And of course more reliable. Maybe in the future, you are going to prefer to invest smaller coin but you have to learn the dynamics of this market before.

Learning from that basis is very important and you should be brave to speculate. I when I first entered crypto and did not trade well. I had a disadvantage because the market condition was decreasing sharply. However, it did not make me give up and I made a lesson for me. Entering the year 2019, I was able to make a profit from the top coin purchases. I temporarily do not make long-term investments, but daily trades are more profitable.

When it comes to investing in cryptocurrencies, buying some of the top coins will give you the edge because they will surely give you profits even during bearish market. Bitcoin, ethereum, xrp and bnb are some of the best top coins because they already proven many times in the past. Top coins with active developers are good to buy because they keep on improving the features of the coins and further boost the price in the market.
