We need to practice critical thinking to detect bias and make sense out of what we see and hear.
Although the immediacy and visual impact of television or the Internet may seem convincing, we have to
use caution and judgment to interpret the information they present. Don’t depend on a single source for
news. Compare what different media outlets say about an issue before making up your mind.

According to the State of the Media report, most television stations have all but abandoned the
traditional written and edited news story. Instead, more than two-third of all news segments now consist
of on-site “stand-up” reports or live interviews in which a single viewpoint is presented as news without
any background or perspective.

any people watch TV news programs and read newspapers or web logs today not so much to
be educated or to get new ideas as to reinforce their existing beliefs.

Most of them are Jews-owned, or leftist-owned, and so are just pure propaganda. Some nice medias are not controlled. They're all from far-right.

How do you know that ? I think it's depend on the country. Some country may contains what you were talking about. But it's true, some medias are not controlled. In my own country, media far from racisme and religion. It because in here, we have a few type of religion. But, there are a lot of news that only contain about celebrity, their fashion, their lifestyle, their vlogs and some garbage like that. That is why, in my country or some country in the world would prefer to watch movies, youtube, and something on the internet. Rather than watching TV.

Me, I believe in news. News report are the one that give us updates and information in what is the current happening in our country. News casters are trying their report best to give us the latest update on a certain event. But not all news are trust worthy because there are some fake news that gives bias opinion. We listeners should think wisely if they are reporting accurate and if we can trust them.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Nowadays, there are many fake news generated in the internet, print and even broadcast. You just have to be vigilant and judge for yourself  which is fake and which is not.

Or do you think media is independent ?

Actually, not all media are independent. There are some media industry that are government-controlled and most of the information that they will deliver to the public are refined information especially if it harms the reputation of a politician that supposedly the public people must know.

Or also, if for example, the private company that sponsored the station will stop financing them if they will not follow what they want.

The news ? not all of them !
There is some news agency as REUTERS and many other ones, who are trusted and every single information is more than real.
But personally, I don't trust FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM ... Social Media in general.

No media is fully independent or without bias or agenda. Ever since the Fairness Doctrine got repealed in 1985 the quality and reliability of the media has gone down.

I do not believe in news, because there are too many lies. All the owners of the media are ready to show for the big money what they will be offered even if this is not true.

when we hear about the news reapot, I suggest that do not immediately believe it, because on the other hand this will make us trapped in ignorance that has been done by misrepresentation of reporter fig who targets the target in doing a job, and they will do various ways to have them have great topics

There are news that is accurate sometimes, and also, there are news that are false. Sometimes, we need to do our own research to find out if there true or not. But somehow, we believe the news that is broadcasted on TV.

I think media is a controlled information. Any thing that we see can be false information that those media company wanted to feed our brains. It can be any information that they want to bring to the people. It can be edited or just made up stories. Not all that we hear or see on tvs or radios are true.

NO do not believe the news nor the media. they twist or change the original story just to come up interesting but the thing is it is not really what happen. here in my country Media are corrupt they will do anything for money just to destroy other people.
Most news are not true and they're artificial only. They can twist the truth, or reverse anything for them to get the attention of the interviewers, or viewers. It hard to trust actually, And your right right! some of the journalist who has a big name in broadcasting news are corrupt because of money. Always remember that media can make you a popular from good or bad things.
