Reading white paper is truly eating a lot of time but if you want to avoid or lessen the loss in your  investment,  you need to read it. Being lazy will get you broke and a single mistake in investment is hard to recover. I am sure that most people who are investing in ICO do not read whitepapers.

Not really, I just look the quality of the main thoughts in the whitepaper and the structure of explanation. Good ideas are easily explained by numbers and real value for business or people. When is so hard to read, that means that could be a scam because the main point of scammers is to create very difficult to understanding explanation and say that everything will be ok.

Im sure the most people do not read whitepapers. I think they are less then 5% who are investing in a ICO who read the Whitepapers. If im honest, i do not read it. I read the short about the project, and the opinion of other people in the telegram groups and hier on bitcointalk. If theres a real scam project, it will be clear. But they can write a very good white paper and it can be a scam too. You never know!

Sometimes, you know. In our case, it's pretty easy. It takes a second to make a pubmed search and verify that our scientific research is real Smiley

Let be real. How many of you guys actually read the whitepaper? I read whitepaper sometimes, but reading multiple of them can be a burden and a headache. Do you guys got any tips on getting through whitepaper a little faster. It killing a lot of time. Thank.

As the author of the whitepaper for our own ICO, I would be glad to know that people took the time to actually read it Smiley.

Whitepapers can be easily ghostwritten by external writers. They are of  course, still very important to read but nowadays looking at the team, their social links along with the GitHub are solid indicators of whither a project will make it to fruition or not.

Yeah whitepapers are only half the work.

The other half is doing your own research and only then forming a conclusion.

Yes I read whitepaper usually before investing in any ICO project. I don't invest before making sure that the project is legitimate and promising, and the whitepaper is an essential factor showing us if this exist or not. In addition I check the website of the project, its team, roadmap and concept.

I think at first I tried to read fast white paper. But now I do not have time for this. A lot of ICO, and if I spend 2 hours to read the whitepaper, I do not have time to spare. And whitepaper is nothing. Many projects with a nice whitepaper and falling down. And another one has a whitepaper and give.

Even though, I also read whitepaper sometimes. However I know by reading whitepaper you can gather an idea about what kind of project you are joining in, and the benefits of reading white papers you can learn more about the product or tactic and find answers to nagging business problems.

to be honest just a few times i read ICO whitepaper. since i though it be wasted a lot of time to read that many page, ICO project should explain thier project with simple and easy to understand at their front site since there not many people who bother to read whitepaper nowadays.

Nope! I don't read much all those tedious whitepapers, if they prove to be scam then they are, and when they aren't then lucky me.
But we should always have alternatives as to what indicators we can look at.
Like background of dev team, are there any products that supports this project (?), strategies of development, and density of community support in telegram.
I believe this will then be sufficient.

You are absolutely right is indeed a lot of wasted time because reading a whitepaper project but if you do follow the project or beriinvestasi in it you should read the whitepaper that project because the company mission vision can see and also the allocation of projects in that case also, you should take heart because of the many cases of fraud or scammers and more
