Most of the time I could stop myself if I want but of course there are times that I would get carried away and gamble as much as I want.

If we are gambling just for fun and without the risk of giving up something important from us, I don't think stopping gambling will do us anything good. We just waste the opportunity to earn easy, and based from luck. With that, we should also think to stay from the status that we have, because if we play too much, that is when bad things happen, especially we can addicted and opportunities will turn into burden if we don't know when to stop. Thus, falling into your question, do I have control? Well, the answer is yes. If right from the start we aren't taking gambling too serious that we risk things that are essential to us such as funds alloted for necessities, we are good and there's no reason for us to stop gambling. Well atleast you’ve learned from that experience and it’s good that you are now able to control yourself, I just hope you can do it consistently because I’ve known few people who learned their lesson the hard way and promised to never do it again, they were doing great at first but later on they went back to what they are before and lost again tons of money. As a long time gambler my answer is yes, because when we were young out priorities are not so much heavy and as a I experienced of being e teenager I want only fun and entertainment in life. But when we in the stage of being an adult we need set our priorities in life like future, families and other goals in life, so that the time comes that we need to stop playing gambling forever. Many adult gamblers are just playing gambling when they have a leisure time only, because they have also priorities in life and it's right.

This is what people should be able to do it that is control and stop as and when required on their will. If they can do ths then nothing can stop them as they can gamble and enjoy and even without being getting addicted to it. Would suggest you not to consider gambling as an investment. Unless you are investing in the casino's bankroll it is not an investment. If you are playing against the house you are having a lesser odds of making a profit than the house. Thus it will be a loss especially if the game is an EV- one.For skill based games, maybe if you are a good poker player, it can be your investment or staking someone whom you know.

With having control of yourself, everything will be fine, and you don't have to worry about losing big money because you can prevent it before it's happening. Having control is a difficult thing that every gambler should have because in gambling, losing control can happen anytime, so we need to take care of the control no matter if that is hard to do. Maybe we can practice to control ourselves by only use small money and play gambling for 5-10 times and then quit gambling. If we can do that 10 times, then we can increase the number of playing and see if we can control ourselves or not. If we cannot control, then we must learn more to have the power to control ourselves.
