Can you consciously and willingly stop gambling at any time?
If you can do the above, you have great control and discipline, of course you are not an addict and you deserve to gamble as much as you want.
If not, clarify your ways of stopping gambling.
It is easy to have control in your gambling im a gambler myself and if I lose so much money I can control myself and stop playing or keep losing my money.
Probably it depends on you maybe if you are addicted to gambling this could be a big problem,
I think if you could earn a good profit every day in gambling it already enough and don't go too especially if you are winning.

No, it's not easy to have self-control in gambling because not all gamblers can do that. A gambler can do that in their beginning in gambling, but with more time he spends in gambling, he will not be able to do that because gambling can attract him to back playing gambling. Of course, that will depend on yourself, how you can control yourself in gambling, so you don't lose much money.

I don't think that you can earn a good profit every day in gambling because you need the luck to win every day, and that is not possible to have luck every time you gamble. If you win in gambling, you need to get out of the place as soon as possible before you are late.

Yes I can stop whenever I want most of the times and it is become possible for me by staying aware while betting and how much I can afford to lose but we can't say we could always be perfect sometimes our ego wins our self control which happens due to continuous loss or with the intention of taking revenge on rival if its game like poker.
The same goes here, because it's better to know our limits while gambling. We should set a target funds that we can afford to lose, if we take more than that, we can no longer take control of ourself when it comes to playing. We will no longer be able to stop playing once this happen.
Sometime when i read some threads in here, people look like really can't get out from addiction. But when see the responses, a lot of people seems can control their emotion in gambling and i think it is good to read by others. I mean it is prove that still a lot of people who can play gambling healthy and can control themself from get addicted or get other bad effects from gambling.
Gamblers on this forum are indeed no more addict. Even those who look for money while gambling are not addicts. The community here is a disciplined and civilized one. Gambling excessively will only bring harm. People gave face loss but then they corrected themselves. This is the most common case. In the beginning, everyone has high hopes from gambling but gradually they discover the reality.

I can't control myself unless there's something that upsets me, annoys me for losing and demoralizes me.  Essentially, when I win or lose several games in a row, I do more ambition, and the result always comes back to me as bad.  It is very difficult and troublesome for one to control himself while gambling.  Especially after the ambition obtained after the gain and the loss of unhappiness after loss, almost everyone succumbs to me as well as succumbs.

clarify your ways of stopping gambling.

Don't start gambling at all, it has literally no benefit to one's well being. Don't start and you won't have to find 'ways' to stop it.
Short but concise Cheesy.

This is for me the best way to stop gambling - to not gamble at all. I don't see any benefits of gambling in one's life since most of the time, gamblers often lose their money and worse they are losing more funds than they are winning. In this way, you don't need to learn how to control yourself, be discipline etc. Just don't gamble and your'e fine.

Gambling has no benefits at all for those who looks at the money side only but ignores the fun/entertainment part of gambling.
Sure if we look at those who lost much money then we will say that gambling is just a place to lose money but we forget about the other positive sides such as having fun with friends, getting new friends, playing game with a chance to win (winning or losing is the effect of gambling obviously) but we should not force ourselves to gamble to win money. Just play it for fun with your extra money that you can afford to lose.

I am sure that many will disagree with you. Millions of people play at the same time around the world. Each of them has its own goals and expectations. Some of them are trying to earn, and others just enjoy the game.
Perfect answer, there are two options why people engaged in gambling. Chasing money and want to broke boringness and wanted to have fun in a short time. So, there's no reason if you are wanted to stop gambling. If you are going to ask me, yes, I have full control and I can still able to control my mind not to continue if I want. Because I already oriented my self and promised that not to become a gambling addict, whatever happen just think it over the consequences.

I don't think so because when we gamble as much as we want, that's the start when we lose control of ourselves. Even though if you know you have a good control over yourself, don't be to reassured that you can control yourself always.
Just like what I always say, set limits when gambling, if you reached your goal for that day, then stop. If not, then stop if you reached your limits. Compose yourself when playing. Don't get to greedy.

We can say that if the person does not yet enter the gambling, but if he already start his gambling journey, then we cannot say anything word to him because he will not listen. He will gamble no matter if we suggest him to stop because he finds an excitement to play gambling with money involved. He can spend his money all day long in the long-term, and he will lose control for himself, and he will difficult to stop gambling.

I'm not addicted into gambling so I can stop anytime I want and I can gamble anytime I want.
I can gamble as much as I want but I don't want to because I don't want to spend too much money in an investment that has the highest risk-reward ratio.

For those who don't know when to stop gambling, the best thing to do is to just consult to a doctor or just forget gambling if you can do it. One way too is to think of the consequences that you can face if you don't stop gambling.
If you are a beginner and able to control this activity then count yourself a lucky one. Most of the gamblers have different approach and definitely a different ending. Gambling is fun only as far played with limited amount for a limited time. Playing too much will also make you vulnerable to becoming an addict. Excessive practice of any act grows into our weakness and that should be prevented at any cost.

Yes of course, although at times I choose not to willingly stop. But I'm aware of it and I am conscious that I might lose additional money, or even all. This usually happens when I am on a losing streak. It makes me a little desperate that I want to play until I lose everything or go all in.

My particular way to avoid wasting money in gambling, online crypto gambling to be specific, is to maintain my wallet balance up to a certain amount I can afford losing. If I made it a little bigger, I will withdraw a portion of it. If I drained it down to the last sat I am too lazy to refill it immediately. At least it will give me a little break.

I may not be able to stop gambling unless i have no money left. I do not consider myself addicted and all the gambling addicts also do not think themselves addicted. This matter is very subjective and no one knows if they have control to stop the gambling or not, until they really face the situation where they want to stop it willingly.

I don't think that gamblers don't know they are addicted, they know but they are only in denial of the truth that they are already addicted. For me, they do have the capacity to control themselves it's just that they mostly let their greed affect their decisions or thinking to the point that they become unaware that they are already doing the wrong thing and I guess the only thing that can stop them is when they don't have everything already

If you can quit gambling on your own, you are definitely not addicted

It can be thought as one of the definitions of addiction that you can't get rid of your addiction of your own volition. And I don't agree that gamblers who are addicted are in denial. Some of them may be for some time, but most addicts (and not necessarily gamblers) become fully aware of the ruinous potential of their activity after some time

It can be thought of as a divide of sorts. When you come to understand how dangerous to your wellbeing your habit is, you drop it. If you can't drop it of your own free will, then you are addicted and need to seek professional help. For example, junkies are typically very well aware that they are addicted, but they can't help themselves

Stopping gambling doesn't make you a disciplined person. Discipline in gambling is knowing your boundaries and limits. If you are still playing despite of losses then you don't have a discipline. Thus, you don't need to completely stop gambling to have it. Just play and bet amounts that you are willing to lose, but consider winning as well and that is discipline.

Even to stop gambling itself is a huge achievement I think because not everyone can do it and only those who are very good at self control can do this and rest we know how badly they get addicted to it and what is the end results too.

but there are only few in gambling that has full control of their desire, many gamblers learnt their lessons after suffering huge losses.
others need to lose their love ones first before realization and those will teach them on how to have control or else they will lose everything.

sad but true right?i have known some gamblers that make their life miserable first before finding the right way on how gambling works.

I can say that I have control over gambling because I wasn’t addicted to it and when I wanted to stop then I can really stop it if I wanted to. I know gambling can be bad once you are attached to it that is why I make sure to set rules for myself to avoid addiction, I think it is only a matter of discipline and you have a strong will to really stop gambling if needed.
sometimes most people, when they get a big win from gambling, will be addicted, including I have experienced it. how to avoid being addicted I think we should remember our goals in gambling, and don't ever think that gambling is good for making a living. that way we can control ourselves not to drag on gambling.
Given what kind of goals in gambling? Because I feel the purpose of gambling is about making money fast, so when most people aim at gambling like that then of course they will continue to gamble. Unlike those who have full control in gambling, because with them having good control then at least they will have a definite goal and know the right time to end gambling by not spending a lot of money to bet.
Well, probably that is not a goal. Because in gambling your aiming is all about the money, probably for fun but the biggest percentage is for having profit. If you can afford to risk a big amount then why not? As long as you can afford it. Because in gambling it is good if you gamble that you always can afford and no exceeding by that. If you had been lost control that's might ruin your whole life and becomes miserable in life. So, think it the overall consequences that might come, not just because you can't control.
thats right, besides a lot of people aim for fun. many people live from gambling and consider gambling as an income because if you play gambling with this goal it will be difficult to control yourself, because if you do not get money from gambling you will be increasingly addicted to continue playing, and this is dangerous.
