I don't see the point of doing it at all why would we keep track of our gambling expenses?
Would it be beneficial to us and how would it help us at all?
The only thing that we would get from doing it is head ache and mostly regrets because of the sum of all the money that we lost so I would never do it.

For people and for me it is as important as we keep a track of our bank accounts and the transactions we monitor it. For people who know value of money or has limited money would like t to manage the money in the best possible way and losing in gambling too much would mean that they are in deep trouble to live their life. This tracking of expenses or money won/lost help them know is it beneficial to either gamble after getting the results or is it worth too loose so much just in gambling. At times this will be an eye opener as well.

The point is you can know how much money you already used for playing gambling. By having the record, you will see that if you used that money for another thing, that would be better than you used for gambling, especially if you used so much money.

Besides that, the benefit is you can learn about controlling yourself, and you can manage the money that you will use in gambling. Perhaps, you can think about limiting the money that you can use in monthly so you can have more money that can you use to buy another thing.

Getting a headache is another effect for people who cannot limit their money, and they always think about how to win much money from gambling. They will regret to see the record if they already lost in big money.

For example, you lose 100 bucks every day. Once a week, you win a couple of hundred. You can assume that the balance of your losses and winnings is approximately the same. However, if you keep statistics, you can see what amounts you lose per month, and so on. This might encourage you to stop gambling.

On the one hand, you are right. The amount of loss that a person sees before him undoubtedly worsen his mood and poison the pleasure of the game. But on the other hand, this information helps to objectively evaluate the costs of gambling and it is possible to draw some conclusions (refuse games or reduce the amount of money allocated for this entertainment).
So in most light way possible, what is best for everyone is just to daily track your gambling session if you win or you lose, it will make you feel less bad if you lose in my opinion. However, what you have said might be useful if you are that technical sided kind of person then you should probably track everything you spend so you'll have an idea if you're doing just fine or not. Being organize in gambling is good until something huge rips you off.

Even if we have a record of gambling it is useless because we will regret it because so much has been spent on gambling ~snip
For me personally, recording gambling statistics will only make me feel uncomfortable because gambling has used up some of my money. Tracking these statistics will only make me lazy to bet. Although other people need it, but to me it seems useless. Nothing will increase my chances of winning at all.

I think it is not needed and only rises another burden on our minds.  Grin
Exactly, I will not do it and it will only add to the burden when we want to bet. Too much disappointment, of course.

An organized gambler might be doing this without even letting others know. It's just for the record that where he's potentially spending his money or how much he's spending with gambling.
There is a point of doing this for conservative gamblers or just those who want to see how much they are turning in to gambling. I find them organized if somebody do this.

Of course, tracking of your gambling expenses is a quite helpful fo you to determine the income, loss and expenses you have made. And yes, you can say that it will be a headache for those some people in tracking their expenses but actually if they only look on the negative side which is the side where they always lose. But if you look on the positive side of tracking gambling expenses, you will see how much do you lose and how much do you earn and you will come up in a very strategic plan in order to focus more in winning than in losing. Tracking of gambling expenses is helpful.

Keeping it track won't uplift our chances to win but only it gives depression seeing how much we lose.
Surely no correlation between winning and keeping track of our gambling record. Keeping track may be related to how good we manage our money or how bad we wasted money so far. I think we don't need to track our record, what for guys? There is no advantage of applying that way. As you said, it just makes us depressed or regrets about what we have done. Avoid it!!
There is an advantage, you will see it if you really lose more often. I just realized it recently, if you will just take it positively you will also realize that keeping a record of your gambling will help you to limit yourself from doing the same thing every time you gamble. Instead of thinking that this will make you depressed, you can turn this negativity to your advantage.

But if you are more on a losing side, this can even made you depressed and sad. For example i play with less money but never keep track of my losses. Once i tried to calculate my loss for a week and i was sad to know that i lost that much amount of money. I think if you are playing for fun, do not calculate your profits and losses.

Yes. If you do not track you gambling expenses in a long time. You will somehow be streesful in the days where you want to know you lose and you also believe that you always have some small lost because sometimes you win also. In a very long time, when you track of your lose and you'll see that you lost way too much or more than of your earnings.

Gambling isn't only fun for those people who are seriously want to earn. They must strategize in order for them to earn in gambling and cut their chances of always getting lose and drag by the game. And tracking your expenses in gambking is one of that strategic idea.

Participation in gambling  implies full record of my involvement, in particular name of  gambling service, allocation fund, loss, gain, date etc. Even in our digital age, don't discount the importance of paper-based records. So I'm using pad and pencil for all my relevant records.

Wow, that's good, there are only few people who are doing that really, that's why only few people are aware of how much they are losing in gambling.
For me this is not required but if you like to monitor the in and out of your money in gambling, this is a must.

For some people, it can make them depressed when they see the number, especially the red number. But for other people, perhaps, when they see the number, they will think about limiting the money itself, and they can also think about quit gambling for a while or forever. I am sure that they can take the benefits of that track or record, especially for people who can think about what is the point for having a track or record. Behind that, there will be something that we can use for ourselves.

Also, for gambling i can separate not more than 1 % of my budget for month. Because mostly, I lose it, so send something bigger will be just wasting money.
That's a very safe allocation in gambling, I understand that most of us are really losing in gambling, so 1% is really something we can afford to lose.
However, for me, I don't allocate 1% only as I don't earn a lot of money from any source, so let's say I only get $1,000 per month as my net income, then I would only gamble $10 per month, I think there's no fun on that.

I actually allocate an amount after paying all my debts, bills, and buying all my necessities. From that I allocate some funds for my extra activity. I don't personally keep a record of how much I've won or lost because it will only make you regret and think of all the things you could've bought with that amount of money.

Why should a gambler have a record of how much money they spend on gambling and how much is earned ?
Maybe for a gambler who thinks only about money-oriented, they can do it. But for a gambler who commonly plays only for fun, having a record like that is useless. To be honest, I never tracked my funds or how much I spent money so far. I think it is not needed and only rises another burden on our minds.  Grin
Serious gamblers who after with profits are known to calculate the amount of money that they are using from this activities. Balancing the breakdown of the actual results gives them ideas on which strategy are working and which is not and needed to improved. Common to those who have enough time to assess and observe each days, weeks or months of playing, they are the one who understand the use of this tracking journal.

Why should a gambler have a record of how much money they spend on gambling and how much is earned ? If we all always think about how we should control our finances, why do we have to bet ?

Do not make gambling solely as a place for you to make money, because gambling is a place where you spend time and money to get pleasure even though we have the opportunity to bring victory.
Even if we have a record of gambling it is useless because we will regret it because so much has been spent on gambling but if people don't care then they run out no matter as long as the fun they get for them but I see very rarely people like that because gambling is now on average want big luck.

So gambling will only spend money, time and even if addicted will be difficult to control, but they want to keep winning in the gambling.
Keeping it track won't uplift our chances to win but only it gives depression seeing how much we lose.
Chasing those losses is not really a good idea, we know gambling is a luck-based game and it certainly ain't happen all the time. And by making this way, it only leads us to something worse and possibly more disappointment that can affect our decision. And for me, it is better to have nothing about the records, and forgetting about the past will help to ease your minds and gamble normally as you did before.

It would be useful to add a survey to this topic. I’m very interested in how many players keep statistics. Obviously, any player (the vast majority) over the long distance will have a loss from gambling. But when losses alternate with winnings, it is more difficult to notice. It seems to me that if many players had seen full statistics on their game, they would have changed their attitude towards gambling.
