do it by limiting the target that I spend every week that's how I know whether I get a profit or loss, because I do it every week so Monday I see if I withdraw or not, and if I lose I do not add more, that's the rule that I made .
I think it will be effective for me if I will stick to gambling. For me it is better than listing the money I put in gambling everyday or listing the  wins and losses which is hard to maintain due to there are chances that I forgot to list it in a single day or more. While in the next day I probably forgot the amount already. With that idea I can also control the money I am using in gambling.

Some avid gamblers may specifically refuse to track how much money they lose. For example, not to worry about losing a huge amount of money in a short period of time. Or so that the wife doesn't see such records.

That would be a bad practice, I'd say. Keeping the track of your wins and losses in gambling can help you improve your money management overall, which can be very useful in your other activities. Gambling can be a good platform for learning the very basics of economy. Only don't gamble with high amounts, lest your education become too expensive. Wink

But a lot of gamblers have no money management, that's why most of them don't keep track of their winnings/losses. lol Or if you are a small timer or only play occasionally, for me, there's no need to record your expenditures unless you are an OC person who jots down all the expenses everyday down to the cents you are shelling out from your pocket.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
Didn't know there are people who thinks gambling is a form of investment. Wow. Even if it is, then it indeed is the riskiest of all kind of investment.

Not more risky than bying Ethereum at 1200, tho  Grin

But you're right with statement that gambling is not an investment. people who telling other is just heavy addicted to this kind of losing money  Embarrassed

In fact, I have never considered gambling to be an investment but rather a game that can finish quickly Grin

Gambling is only played by people addicted to the game and why gambling is a lot of people do because this game is quite challenging where once won you can be rich.

Therefore gambling games must have great guts.

The idea of that can be changed if they are actually investing to a casino bankroll.

But they don't and what they do is the actual gambling. And the money they spend gambling is being considered as their investment which really thinks that it is but, in reality, it's not an investment but leisure unless they gamble for a living.

In my perspective it's only a fun way to entertain myself and to lose steam from a stressful day especially these days when im really bored due to the lockdown i keep myself busy with various things such as movies, mobile games and gambling. I dont like doing extra work like having records in my spreadsheet, it will only lead to ovethinking and anxiety perhaps gambling sites could add history of bets made by an individual player to keep track.

It may not take long to mark how much you have lost or won in the table. This can be done immediately after the end of the gambling game. This is especially convenient because the game information is still fresh in your memory. This is very convenient for the purpose of then looking at the statistics of their games. Maybe someone doesn't do it for the purpose of not getting upset or because they don't need to. But it is impossible not to do this due to lack of time, since it takes very little time.

My answer is no, I don't track my gambling but if ever I track my gambling then here is what I will do. First, I will use a portfolio or a spreadsheet to put information of my bets for example and the amount of money I use to gamble (afford to lose) and what time I gamble then I'll be able to track my profit and loses but in my opinion most results is losing profit or money since it is not an investment in the first place.

I think everyone keeps track of their gambling habit. All modern casino does have personal statistics included on their casino, thus there is no need of opening a spreadsheet and doing all calculations.
The only time you do consider that gambling is a form of investment is on the time you do put up money or invested with the house itself but if you are a player? Nah its never been considered to be an investment.
We know that this one is created for entertainment purposes and its just dumb for you to mind that you are investing on the same time. You are just making yourself look dumb to believe into those things.
Tracking does help but only on sportsbetting yet you can make calculations which are needed for your risk management but for luck based games like dice and similar then i dont see a point on
why would you need to track everything.

Yes probably that is right because if our purpose is for fun only for sure you spending a little amount of money so there is no need for us to compute in the spreadsheet or anything to see how much we lose and how much we esrn money because once you compute all your money using in gambling and you saw you lose big amount of money you trigger to get back it and high chance for you to to play more and once you play agaib another will risk to your money.
Same goes with me, I don't want to keep track of all of my doings in gambling and so I will able to forget about it easily when I lose. I'm just gambling for entertainment so there's no need for me to track those.

When I seeing numbers, It'll just put pressure on me to gamble more and get back what I've lost recently. Instead of enjoying, you'll just be stressed about gambling.

Does that schedule weekly doesn't change if you have made a profit even for the first day of the week?

I think it's unfair for yourself to wait until the end of the week to cash out those profits you have if you can cash out immediately and take it home.

Because if you lose before the end of the week, you have nothing left and just replenish it.

Interesting.
And what if you won x2 at Wednesday and then -x3 on Friday?  Smiley
I mean timing with weekly bars it's not the best way.

Also, do you track how many do you withdraw and deposit? Because if I understand right, OP was asking about this.

do you registerhow much you separate for gambling?
do you see it as an investment?

if yes, how do you track it?
simples spreadsheets, physical notebooks or maybe some different way?

Right now I am not doing that since I don't gamble right now that much often. Thanks to the ECQs and lockdowns I can enjoy myself with my family and them stopping myself from gambling online and offline obviously. I did in the past and what I am using is a spreadsheet, when I am not in my house, I do it on my phone and then export it in my laptop.
Keeping track of every bet wouldn't' be good entertainment and I doubt the gamblers will be able to enjoy fully from the game session. Instead of keeping tracks, using the gambling platforms that offer to download the bet history as a CSV form will be an efficient solution to calculate profit/loss.

That is right. It is a bit annoying sometimes since you will be forgetting that and try to remember the bets you did. If you are doing it online there is no problem since there are some gambling sites that show your account's history and you won't bother to write or type them in a spreadsheet.

I don't see the point of doing it at all why would we keep track of our gambling expenses?
Would it be beneficial to us and how would it help us at all?
The only thing that we would get from doing it is head ache and mostly regrets because of the sum of all the money that we lost so I would never do it.

For people and for me it is as important as we keep a track of our bank accounts and the transactions we monitor it. For people who know value of money or has limited money would like t to manage the money in the best possible way and losing in gambling too much would mean that they are in deep trouble to live their life. This tracking of expenses or money won/lost help them know is it beneficial to either gamble after getting the results or is it worth too loose so much just in gambling. At times this will be an eye opener as well.

Some avid gamblers may specifically refuse to track how much money they lose. For example, not to worry about losing a huge amount of money in a short period of time. Or so that the wife doesn't see such records.

You can easily track it directly in your wallet.
You just need to put a label on your transactions with some details about them. And then you can compare your inflows and your outflows to check if you are winning or losing money.
