Financial management will always be an important aspect in anything, especially when we talk about gambling, which is an activity that involves money and risk, meaning that one of the reasons why financial management such as setting limits on the amount of money to be bet is very important is because gambling has a risky side that can really make you lose all your money in a short period of time.

Maybe we have heard people very often who suggest only betting the amount that we can afford to lose and the reason is clear that by doing so we will not be too disappointed when we end up losing and of course it will not cause too many problems for your finances, so the benefits of only betting the amount that you can afford to lose are first so that your finances remain stable and second so that your mental and psychological health remains maintained, and for me personally, the amount usually does not exceed 5% of the total money I have when I occasionally want to bet.
I agree with you that small stakes, in a small bankroll will not affect us very much. And honestly, this is the key to relaxed enjoyment of the game, and if we still meet luck, it will be very cool. But usually players do not think about this, but only about the winnings that they can get, why they came up with the idea that the jackpot will be theirs is still unclear to me. Still, I first think about how not to lose or limit losses and only then about winnings. This thinking has saved me many times from big losses.

Yes, usually most gamblers don't think about this, or don't think in that direction, even though it is clear that in gambling, the issue of winning is always unknown, simply put, your winnings have been arranged by the dealer, especially in casino games, so it's useless if you do various things to pursue victory because in the end it will depend heavily on your luck, that's what I think so I prefer to focus on risk management that leads to the prevention aspect rather than thinking too much about victory that is beyond our reach.

On the other hand, the feelings they feel about those who will get the jackpot are actually nothing more than thoughts that arise because they are too focused on winning because of very high expectations, even though it is clear that in gambling, hope or belief will not be able to affect the results of the game, so the point is that we better focus on various actions that lead to prevention only, because that is what is more possible.

Personally, I dont allocate an amount from my bankroll because I wouldnt class myself as a
serious gambler but rather an occasional one.

I can imagine it would be good practice to initiate a plan to allocate a specific amount but this
can be easier said than done for the person who is addicted to gambling and maybe is chasing
losses. It really comes down to a mental approach and to control ones emotions and be able
to identify certain actions or even the level of risk at a certain times.

Its actually quite complicated really.

Without having a plan before we start gambling

Its one thing having a plan its another to identify where you are at at a particular stage and to
initiate the action to counter a particular risk. It comes down to discipline.

A gambler can have a hard time deciding when to stop gambling. If he is on a winning streak in gambling it is highly impossible for him to stop himself from gambling as I know from my experience. When a gambler is winning he feels more aggressive and desperate for extra earnings.
To deal with that particular situation he must have patience and refrain himself from gambling.

Without having a plan before we start gambling, it is going to make it difficult for us to control ourselves, some of us might say we can not be forced against our will but when you are winning continuously, you would not want to stop as you will consider that day to be your lucky day therefore you will continue to gamble and this might put you into problems as at a time, your luck will run out and you begin to lose then you switched from playing as you were enjoying the games to revenge. Revenge gambling can never give you anything positive therefore you will be fighting a lost battle that will eventually make you to lose all your money and get you depressed that it might lead to the start of your addiction problems. Having a specific bankroll prevents you from over gambling therefore it is very important.

Given that gambling has a strong appeal that can make players unconsciously go deeper into excessive spending, this is a case that I think is often experienced by players. Players who get carried away by the atmosphere may be more appropriate because with them getting carried away by the atmosphere, their thoughts will most likely encourage them to continue betting, I am sure of this. Unlike players who really have the discipline that is set, because with this discipline that is set they will have limits, but not all players can set good enough discipline. With the desire to continue betting, of course this opens up opportunities for players to become addicted to gambling, therefore having limits from the perspective of the funds allocated is one solution to avoid this, but this also depends on yourself who can or cannot maintain your limits.
They should know how to take care of themselves while gambling. Many people have that experienced where they are tempting from the situation and atmosphere and makes them continue gambling.

That is bad for them because they will lose everything they have including money and the worst thing is they will become addicted to gambling. But when they can be discipline, have a good self control and limitation, and understanding of many things related to gambling will make them prevent the bad things.

They will allocate some money to gambling because they know how it feels losing much money. We must become a responsible gambler if we still want to playing gambling.

"Bankroll" is usually a term used in sports betting. From what I've read in some of the threads here, we need to be disciplined in managing our bankroll, typically betting only 5% to 10% per wager. So I'm curious: do bettors here really set up a bankroll first before they start gambling, or do they just gamble whenever they have available money?

Exactly a specific bankroll should be set to enable you be discipline with your funds and set a pace to minimize Losses but then some gamblers don't see reasons to do so when they have enough money to spend in gambling. To me depending on my income rates I usually set the least 2% from my income to gamble and if I lose that while playing I don't bother to use another money but so many gamblers after allocating the said bankroll for gambling and when they lose they'll always want to try another round again thereby proning them to chasing over losses and as well becoming addicted to doing the same thing. So discipline oneself in setting a specific bankroll for gambling is necessary.

You might think that you can't lose 3 times in a row, until you do. You lost all your money right there.
Having that kind of mindset is very risky because we know what could happen next if we let it take over. If we can’t accept that losing is part of the game, and that cold streaks and hot streaks exist, we aren’t being realistic. Eventually, this denial can lead to addiction when we can’t handle our losses.

Bankroll management exists for a reason. It’s like our capital that we need to control. To truly understand the discipline of managing a bankroll, we should start with a significant amount but only something we can afford to lose.

In principle, bankroll management directly depends on the desired level of risk. Someone can put the whole bankroll for one round of roulette, and someone prefers that his bankroll was enough for 10-15 rounds without taking into account the winnings. I adhere to the opinion that the bet should not be too small as it does not allow you to get enough emotion, but not too high so that the bankroll does not run out after a few minutes of gambling session. I also think it is very important not to increase the bankroll during the gambling session. If you decide before gambling that you are ready to spend only $100, and when they began to lose wanted to re-fill the account gambling platform. Refrain from doing so.

The thing is that everything goes out of the window when something with low probability happens.

You might think that you can't lose 3 times in a row, until you do. You lost all your money right there.

You might think that the next bet it's too risky so you pass or bet too little and end up making it. You lost your once in a million chance right there.

It's really hard to predict what's going to happen with gambling outcomes...

That is something that everyone in this forum has definitely done, I myself have never even found a comment about the suggestion to gamble excessively, if there is, it could be a heated debate. We must know when to stop gambling because this is something that must be considered because if we cannot stop gambling, bankruptcy is something that can absolutely happen. What you said is true, we must be able to gamble with the amount of money we can afford, and before gambling we must be prepared to lose the money that is bet, therefore it is better to set a budget before gambling must be done, and do not be tempted to do it excessively even though in gambling you can almost get a big win, do not get carried away to go deeper because there is no guarantee that even though we almost get a win, we can win if we gamble again.
The same situation can arise when you keep losing and you can be more aggressive to recover money which increases the tendency to lose more money.

We should keep ourselves within a limit at all times so that we can withdraw ourselves from the tendency to over-gamble by particularizing the amount of money allocated for gambling each week and reducing the overtime allocation.

When someone is experiencing a lucky victory it will indeed be difficult for them to be able to stop gambling, but in such a situation if we cannot control ourselves of course this can make us continue to bet until there is no victory left and even the capital we use is also exhausted and we can only regret it, if only we can control ourselves when we have gained some wisdom we can first withdraw a little The benefits that we have obtained and return to continue betting if we still want to bet.

Setting limits on the funds that we will use in gambling is very important to be able to take care of ourselves while betting, because by limiting ourselves of course we will not spend too much money on gambling and can also avoid being addicted to gambling.

I've always advocated for responsible gambling in this forum and the best way to achieve it is by having a bankroll for it. If you have a budget for gambling and you're disciplined to stick to it, it wouldn't matter if you're winning or losing, when the amount is exhausted you'll quit for the day. It's important that the amount that you budget for gambling should be what you can afford to loose, so you wouldn't put too much of your income on what depends on luck to win or be profitable. This is my strategy to avoid being addicted to gambling and it's working very fine for me.

That is a question which I am sure has many answers to it and I prefer to say mine. I think I always set a budget before gambling yet rarely I abide by it. In most cases rage and sadness get the best out of me and when this happens while playing slots I keep increasing the bet until I lose it all. This means I assume most other persons set a budget yet I assume again they all fail in most cases to stick to it, those who do stick to it get a nice benefit, that of not losing all the money.
How frequently should we be setting a bankroll when  it's obvious that winning does not come always.
We might set a particular bankroll for today but become surprised that all the money is gone and we need to keep betting to claim the lost funds. Setting a bankroll for every bets might sounds good and enticing trying to follow risk management but I doubt if anyone would be able to maintain that for a long period of time. This is different from greed and we need to be sincere to ourselves if we can actually maintain using the same bankroll every time we bets. Discipline also falls down to this for us to be able to maintain that on a daily basis.
Setting the amount of money in the bankroll is very good attitude for gambler to be able to control himself, but in conditions like this they must be able to really set the amount of money that is willing to be considered to be lost.
Main purpose of all this is done is to be able to minimize the amount of loss so that it is not too large in each gambling session, on the other hand, it puts pressure on gambler to avoid addiction or the attitude of chasing losses, when losing and losing everything that has been set then must be able to stop and not think about betting again and can take back the amount that has been lost.

What makes you hesitate? I myself honestly have been able to apply all of this well for long time and can avoid all bad mindsets about trying to recover losses and I even see some people out there can do it too, it just about mindset, if gambler can think well and have the right approach then it not difficult to do it.

You can agree with me that the easiest part is setting a gambling budget, while sticking to these budgets remains the part where most gamblers defaults. Sometimes even the responsible gamblers often flaw in this particular area, some do it when they’re already caught up in the thrill of the game, some due to their hunger and thirst for recovering money they’ve lost in the previous rounds, and some because they’re not yet satisfied and still wish to while away time. For some, this often leads to unexpected losses regardless of the reason for exceeding their gambling limits or budgets. That’s why it’s always crucial to stick to one’s limits, regardless of the situation.

Set a specific bankroll before gambling is necessary to prevent over budget. We can easily tempts to continue playing gambling so when we cannot set the budget, we can spends too much money. That can make us think that we still have money and we can use it to gambling and no limitations to control us. That can also attract more problem such as gambling addiction because when we playing gambling over and over, our minds will set that gambling is important to us. We can return to casino many times without think how much money we already lost. Have a limitation in bankroll and with other things can help us to stay aware from continuing gambling so we can enjoy gambling as a fun.

The bankroll is not so simple to conceptualize in that simple idea, that is why I always mention that the phrase "only use money that you are willing to lose" is ridiculous, that phrase works for recreational players, but not for those who manage a bankroll.

If a player, as you wrongly mention, "runs out of money" he will stop playing, if you are a recreational player yes, but for a correct bankroll management you do not stop betting because you had a bad day or a good one.

It is actually quite complicated to explain something that is the soul of professional players or candidates to be one.

Another thing is to think that this concept only applies to sports betting, and in reality even casinos handle by law a Bankroll to operate, that is, when a Casino runs out of Bankroll  does not say; "we do not pay today, come tomorrow"... that example is worth recreating in the subject in question, the Bankroll is lost and we go bankrupt... it is starting over.

Many or most players make the mistake of starting to look for profits, when what they have to do is start managing their Bankroll, making it solid, it is a long, very long road to getting a solid Bankroll, in short, all over the internet and even in this very forum, you can find the famous phrase: "use money that you are willing to lose or money that you can afford to lose", shit no, it is the opposite: use money that you do not want to lose, fM said it.
