By the time the hype starts and gets high enough you are too late. You join arbitrum because of the people who get airdrop from arbitrum. Those who joined at the beginning long enough to wait for the moment. You have to arrive early for other projects, do research and check every social media. If you don't get anything from the airdrop, then change your strategy. do airdrops that have been recommended, and don't work on projects that have been abandoned and don't have much interest.

Yeah, many airdrops are not worth something or we didn't receive any payment because the project is stopped in the middle of progress. We can keep hunting for airdrops until we get something precious tokens to sell as long as we keep patience and do not give up on the first try.
Everyone who hunts airdrop must experience this. Unfortunately, there are too many shit projects, the developers only want investors' money. When they get enough money from investors, then they will disappear. When the projects immediately stop in the middle of its progress, we can assume the teams/developers are scammers. If it is a serious project, it won't easily stop, the team/developer must try to develop the project whatever the situation. Lately, we have lack of serious/real projects, most of them are scams.
There are many airdrop we had participated in the past and we did not receive the actual rewards that was promised that is why we see in these days people that had have that experience do not bother themselves on that again. The market is huge and there are so many things we can do with our time that will yield better rewards that wasting those precious time on airdrop hunting.

It is best to first evaluate the project before entering to follow the airdrop, but many airdrop hunters overlook this because most airdrops offer simple chores and huge prizes, thus this is neglected. Your advise is extremely appropriate in this regard. for the AirDrop hunter since we may avoid fraud by questioning the project manager or owner about it.

With the trend that we have now, It is very possible to profit on airdrops especially that Arbitrum who has recently release is one of the biggest airdrops that has airdrop hunters profited on. It is one of the anticipated projects and there are other airdrop projects that is being waited by everybody to be released. I believe that Arbitrum is what makes airdrop hunting lively again and encourage airdrop hunters to not to give up despite of scams and unreliable airdrops before. What you have just explained is the reason why I won't join random airdrops instead I choose an airdrop that I have knowledge about the project or you could say it is the same as finding a project worth to invest by making a research about it if it is legit or have a potential that it will make it or it is a scam therefore I only choose what I think is good to participate and how I choose is base on what I gather during my research.
A lot of Airdrops are now a waste of time since its like gambling with your luck, many tokens that we got from Airdrop become worthless due to many dumps from other participants. Just like the Arbitrum token when they give massive airdrop to many people the price is dumped so hard.
Why people still stupid to connect their main wallets/doing airdrops with their main wallets? My main wallet is a ledger wallet. I keep all my assets in their. But I use trust wallet to do transactions. Also I have metamask wallet to participate airdrops or giveaways. And that wallet will never hold 20$+ 
That's because people think that they may have a chance to earn good money from airdrops.Although most airdrops are garbage, there are 1-2 airdrops that still give people a good amount of money. For example Arbitrum, some people claim that they get big money from this project airdrop.
Sure, it is not the right way to connect your main wallet to an untrusted project. I also will never use my main wallet for airdrop projects. It is better to create a new wallet for airdrop purposes.

"Airdrops are generally worthless." However, I don't trust a lot of airdrops now. I have filled out thousands of airdrops, but I have only received 2-4 good ones in 5-6 years, so I think filling out airdrops is a waste of time. Not every airdrop advertised on YouTube channels is a scam. There are legitimate airdrops available, but the challenge is identifying which ones will pay well and which won't. I can recall the times in the past when I did participate in airdrops. I participated in a lot of airdrops, but they ended up paying me far less than I anticipated (it's sort of annoying). As a result of that, I made the decision to never again get involved in anything involving airdrops because, in my opinion, it was a complete waste of time.
