I don't think so.
Btc is very expensive. Maybe it will be recongnized as an official currency but it won't replace Dollar.
If it will replace it will take time, I mean more than 15 years.
This can happen much faster. Now many States want to replace Fiat currency for non-cash. It will bring a number of inconveniences associated primarily with taxes. This can lead to the fact that the demand for bitcoin will rise and the dollar may die as the world currency.

Indeed for the current dollar function is more dominant because the use of dollars doesnt charge the user, currently bitcoin always use the cost for various transactions and popularity of bitcoin that is not so popular as the dollar.
And it looks like changing dollar function will not be realized in near future.

I don't think that Bitcoin will ever be able to replace dollar as dollar is accepted everywhere in this world and it is regarded as a global currency but Bitcoin is not that popular. Moreover Bitcoin transactions charge very high fees which makes the use of Bitcoin impossible for small transactions.
Yes I agree with your opinion, bitcoin will not be able to replace the dollar because the impact of the dollar yield is very big for the economy, I think the dollar has been known to everyone but for bitcoin not too famous as the dollar, and almost most of the many transactions Using dollars,

Of course it would be impossible to happen, look at the dollar is the currency of a country and legal there is no shortage in the dollar. Whereas bitcoin has not been widely accepted anywhere. How can bitcoin replace dollar? I think this statement is just a joke lol

That's what and fiat is much more safer and efficient to use than bitcoin honestly. It's literally cold hard cash which you could spend instantly at any retailer without the worry of the value being depreciated etc.

Moreover to replace dollar, bitcoin has to reach new heights and bypass action by governments and other entities.

"Soon?"  No chance.

Decades from now, low chance.  The future of digital currency is still unknown.  Assuming it becomes a major mechanism for exchange (which I think it will), it has the potential to displace current Fiat currencies for other nations.  Until then (which will likely be a very long time), governments will continue to demand a centralized monetary system that they can control for their respective country.

I don't really think that bitcoin would replace dollar even if the price continue to rise up,
I think that it would never happen bitcoin is an internet money while dollar is an Fiat.
And we are not yet in the age where we could really use it in everything we want and we could pay with it in every transaction that we would have.

I don't agree. People can't trust something they can't see or hold in their hands. Maybe in 3000.  Grin But actually I don't think it will happen anytime.

I honestly don't think it'll happen, certainly not in 15 years... In 100 years maybe?
Hahahaha Cheesy But honestly, I do believed bitcoin can replace dollar but in this generation. Just like what you said 100 years
that could be possible to be happen but still no one knows what will happen in the near future.

I don't think that it will ever happen in future as dollar is the most strongest currency we have and it is more popular then bitcoin and the fact is dollar is widely used and accepted currency and even if bitcoin becomes more popular in future it will never have that power to take over dollar in terms of currency.

I tend not to believe that the dollar will be replaced by a digital asset.

Bitcoin is not just a currency.

Bitcoin 'enables' the transmission of all the currencies of the world.

I look at Bitcoin in much the same way as a conveyance belt in an airport - in this reality, fiat currencies are the luggage and bags that are placed atop this conveyance belt and moved from point a, to point b.

This is 'one' of bitcoins' abilities.

The dollar, and most fiat currencies. perform a completely different task.

I could be terribly wrong, but I don't believe that bitcoin can be compared with any fiat currency at all. This would be like comparing a bicycle with an aeroplane

It may not be bitcoin, but fiat money always seems to die and something will replace them.

What are you saying? The only possible digital currency that might or may be replacing dollar or other fiats are bitcoin. It has the price, value but the stability is out of the line the reason it is lot of years needed before it can be put into decision. And also, fiat is not dying, and if it is, what are your proofs that it is.

Bitcoin can not replace the dollar, because it exists only on the Internet. The dollar is very stable and controlled by the government, and bitcoin is based only on user activity.
Bitcoin might not replace dollar, but it can be used for local purposes if you can get hold of a bitcoin based debit card, the freedom of bitcoin is that it is not controlled by any government agencies and so is the reason i am here.

I agree. And, if the Internet is not available? (The countryside, the breakage of communications, an incident)

Replacing the dollar as the world's strongest currency is not easy, at least it takes a lot of things, the easiest measure is marketcap, it must be admitted that bitcoin marketcap is not more than 1% of dollars, so it takes a long time to replace the dollar.

Bitcoin will be able to replace the dollar only if it exists and as a physical currency that can be touched in real life. Now it is just an additional currency. But I do not think that this will happen, they just will exist in parallel.

Why would it have to be physical? Like 90% of all transactions today with fiat are made from numbers on a screen. Physical fiat has been gradually decreasing for a while now and soon we'll have a cashless society most likely. As for BTC replacing the dollar it's not a matter of if but when right now. Time will tell as with all things, I know damn well that if I had the option of holding $1,000,000 in US Dollar or $1,000,000 in BTC equivalent the choice would not be hard.

This choice wouldn't be hard for me either, but it's the exact opposite of your sentiment. Any amount of considerable wealth I would keep in a stable currency where I could be reasonably certain what the value would be week to week and month to month. Nobody has a reasonable basis to say 30 days from now if bitcoin will be worth the same as it is now. Bitcoin is down more than 10% in the last 30 days. That'd be $100,000 loss if it was bitcoin in your scenario. It could just as easily go back up, but everyone is convinced that it will, which is the sign of a bubble.
