I don't think so.
Bitcoin will not replace dollar, but in my opinion bticoin will replace gold as soon as posible Grin Grin

I don't think also because the dollar was used as a currency in other countries especially in abroad. Maybe it will replace in a few years but it would be possible. Yes, maybe it would replace gold soon because Bitcoin also is like similar to gold. If this would happen, gold was neglected and bitcoin will be identified in other countries. All opinions are possible if the government approve this kind of situation.

I want to address that dollar is used only to places where dollar is their local currency. Foreign countries rarely accept dollars. Want proof? (This only applies if your local currency isn't dollars) Go outside and try paying with dollars. The cashier will probably just laugh at you and pressure you into looking for a place to exchange your money first. You will be forced to pay with local currency.

I also want to address that bitcoin can never replace gold. Gold is valuable because of its physical properties and bitcoin doesn't have any of those. Bitcoin isn't metallic. Bitcoin isn't shiny. Bitcoin isn't used as a hardware part of electronics.
Currencies and assets like gold, silver etc are valued by the the power they hold. It is true that gold and dollar are very powerful since they both are very important in their respective fields but similarly bitcoin is also a very important asset in the online market. Dollar and gold respectively cannot replace the value of bitcoin in that respect.

It should also be taken into consideration that bitcoin is valuable than both dollar and gold and also has many benefits for example security that currencies like dollar and gold cannot have.

You are right only half. If you will be buying goods for dollars that will really laugh sellers, but any Bank will exchange dollars for local currency. In countries where most inflation people take on the role of the banks and therefore there is all the hands have the dollars and you are willing to sell any goods for dollars or change. Bitcoin is still too young to compete with the same kit as the dollar.

US dollar has been in its last stage as global reserve currency. It has enjoying this status from past 1940 when it made OPEC countries to agree to sell crude oil only for dollars. But bitcoin has just completed its initial eight years.Bitcoin has been predicted that it would be the world's sixth largest reserve currency in 2030.So it would take more than 15 years for bitcoin to replace dollar.

i also do not think that it can replace Dollar so soon, Dollar is one of the most powerful currency of the world and is present for a long time, while bitcoin is an only currency,so i do not think that we can match these two currencies. i thin it can only be possible when become adopted by all the local shops and consider as decentralize fiat currency also, and i do not think that it is so easy task it will tame such a long time when all the local shops will start accepting bitcoin, because a great number the world population has still no idea about bitcoin and therefore may be it will take decades.
We have to be fully satisfied with bitcoin as the best payment system now but to replace dollar is too big as a dream
and it will not happen even in the future or even how popular bitcoin already.
The convenience that we get by using bitcoin will only be possible with the support of people who use their fiat for purchase.

I really do not believe if bitcoin will replace the dollar .. maybe that's what the coindash CEO says is only relative .. maybe yes maybe not. If bitcoin replaces dollar .. it needs a long discussion and takes a long time. Need legality for bitcoin. And approval from all sides of the state. Because that we know. The dollar became the benchmark of all currencies in various countries. If bitxoin replaces it. The structure of the world's economy will be chaotic. Expenditure and financial income will be difficult to note. Money laundering action will occur.

I'm very positive about the fate of BTC but it will not replace the world's most accepted currency yet. It won't happen soon. It will probably take decades. But feel assured that BTC is the leader when it comes to online currency. When it comes to buying stuff online, BTC is at the top. After all, it's designed as a digital currency. It is accepted worldwide.

That is certainly true, mate. Bitcoin is still at its infancy, which would take a couple of years from now before it becomes mature enough to be used at a large scale, and eventually replace the Dollar (if it ever does). However, the Dollar is still the world's reserve currency and it is one of the strongest mediums of exchange widely recognized by countries from around the world.

While the Dollar has a solid reputation over the years, Bitcoin is not far from becoming recognized worldwide in the mainstream area. Perhaps, it would not be Bitcoin itself to replace the Dollar, as it is decentralized, but a new currency might be created allowing countries to control it over its own private blockchain.

But, if by any way Bitcoin manages to replace the Dollar, it would become the new world's reserve currency. Just my opinion. Smiley

It might not take decades for to replace worldwide currencies. But it will happen soon if bitcoin is reach to $5000 as soon as possible. Then people and countries will be willing for bitcoin. Like that it will replace worldwide currencies.

No, I don't think so! The difference between bitcoin and dollar is that dollar is a legally binding currency, while bitcoin isn't. Do you really think that the FED will give up its money printing system? How should the economy in the US run without the dollar?
Not us only that depends with dollar but this world, anything happen with the bitcoin is not impact with dollar because dollar  is the strongest currency. Bitcoin can replace dollar if use more than 51% of world population.
The elementar difference between dollar and bitcoin is that the dollar will be always enforced by the US military while no country in this world will enforce bitcoin with their military. Therefore, nothing will replace the dollar in the foreseeable future!
I doubt that the reason is military. America is a country with very strong economy. Of course that this country has many opportunities to promote its interests around the world. Investment in a country through its currency is the safest way to preserve their savings. So the dollar is invincible.
I would not say invincible. Dollar is something that is iconic in this day and age. Also i agree that America have strong economy, but do not forget that there are other countries that are stronger than America. Also everything have beginning and the end, so does Dollar. The future is electronic currency, just i am not sure if it is going to be Bitcoin.

Bitcoin will never 'replace' money, I am afraid. Although it will be a valid payment method that is widely accepted (with debit cards all over the world) but people still want paper money, coins...there will always be people, a lot of people, who would want to touch their money.

Of course, because the technology of banknotes has emerged and persisted for years .. and the dollar has become the benchmark of the whole country's currency, and it is unlikely that bitcoin can replace it ..
Although we try as hard as possible to make bitcoin as the main currency ,, I think it is a time-wasting action.,!

Meh.
i don't know if you are talking about bitcoin in particular or blockchain tecnology. It doesn't have to be exactly bitcoin, it may be "X" coin with government fundings or some big corporations on the background (intel ibm samsung microsoft google ..)

Definitely this! I believe that every new project will have to be pegged to BTC as it will be the most secure and reliable network throughout time most likely but yeah, some of these monster companies will surely pick up on this soon. Perhaps create their own small countries with their own currency and all that. Would be pretty cool IMO and a huge blow to the US Dollar.

I probably think that it will not happen soon since some people just don't see bitcoin as it is virtual and not real... Apart from that bitcoin is used world wide and some countries might take this as an advantage to weaken US economies by reducing price of bitcoin

Believe that the near future, 5 years or 10 years, or farther later, btc will gradually replace the dollar, after all, more and more countries now recognize the value of btc, I now do is to take btc, wait for it after the appreciation

Mnray countries are appreciating bitcoin's value and price and how can it help the country, though there are really things that must be restricted and banned that is why there are countries banning bitcoin. So, bitcoin replacing dollar seems to be really impossible for now, I think it needs more 100 years before the whole world accepts it.

LOL or another alt like eth can replace btc before it has a chance to replace the dollar, which for me is highly unlikely. Both btc and the dollar lead their respective currencies and it's possible for them to be replaced but by each other but by currencies of the same status. Like another fiat currency replacing the dollar and another alt replacing btc. Though that's not likely to happen amytime soon.
ETH will never replace bitcoin. Because there a lot of people who don't even know what is ETH. If it is about Dollar that ETH is replacing dollar. It can because dollar local money and where ETH is not a local money that why. So facing bitcoin by ETH is a big deal for ETH. Bitcoin is increasing on daily based where ETH we cannot say about ETH that it will continue to increase in the future.
