I don't think Bitcoin will be able to replace dollar because dollar is a global currency and every nation out there hold dollars as an asset. Dollar has been around for centuries. But Bitcoin on the other hand is not that popular and it has only been around for seven or so years.

I dont think so it will change Dollar . Its hard to replace it with country currency !
i think It's not hard if everyone are using Bitcoin and adopting bitcoin for their business then I hope so that bitcoin will replace the dollar I hope so that it will be possible in the future because there is a lot of people are using Bitcoin for online shopping and a lot of people considered that Bitcoin is a secure currency than fiat.
in fact it is not so easy for everyone to adopt bitcoin, I think it will take a lot of time, you are going to change the whole payment system and adopt a new which need to have good knowledge about computer and internet, although everything is possible but now so easy it will take a lot of time may be decades when all the people of the world become so mature and educated to start using bitcoin. but still USD will also stay there and is not going to quit for ever.

This is obviously impossible. Bitcoin has many problems. Some are internal some are external problems but nobody could change dollar and the world go around it. Never forget this. And its mission is not to replace dollar. If bitcoin make the system a little bit flexible, this counts.

I don't think this will ever come to happen in the least, I just can't see a time where governments allow for bitcoin to takeover without a dying fight to make all of our lives hell through insane amounts of regulation (Like the ones present in NY right now) and other ones that are going to involve taxes, and reporting, and so on and so forth which could make this currency insanely hard to use if you want to be within the bounds of the law. I guess I'm not one of those people that's able to look for 'the moon' or the tons of other things that yall are able to see, but I'm more of a realest when it comes to stuff like this.

No, I don't think it will.

I don't think it will replace dollar. It could be used a lot more than now. But to change dollar with online currency is not possible, atleast not in near future ( our lifetime ) .

Coinbase CEO believes bitcoin will replace dollar within 15 years.

Read the following news:
http://cointelegraph.com/news/114983/coinbase-ceo-bitcoin-will-replace-dollar-within-15-years

Do you think it will be true? Are you positive towards bitcoin's future status?

The bitcoin will never replace a currency, but the bitcoin can be a method of payment, the only constraint it possesses and which we all know is its volatility, which tends to frighten households.

Dump it!!!
Maybe a half a century from now bitcoin or another centralized cryptocurrency might have a shot
and for this to happen the younger generation of today need to be groomed on how to use the available cryptocurrencies and make this anticipated takeover possible.

No, Bitcoin cannot replace dollars soon.
I mean That if XT kinds of hindrance will regularly come in its path and prices keep on fluctuating this much, then it will be very difficult to replace dollars which is the most widely accepted currency

I don't think that Bitcoin will ever replace dollar in future. As per the current position and situation of bitcoin its not possible to ignore dollars. Dollars will remain the main mode of transactions in future also but it doesn't mean that Bitcoin will dead, Bitcoin will be limited to use for online shopping, betting, gambling.

In my own opinion, i think that bitcoin cannot replace dollar soon simply because dollar is control by the government while bitcoin is only control by people who created it. But i believe that bitcoin can be legalize by other governments in the near future.

It wont happen, because dollar has its value on a big arena and still you buy bitcoins also for dollars, dont forget about that. Other thing, that from the business side still goverment and banks need scuh currencies like dolar, euro and etc. They wont be replaced by some internet coin

Yeah you're right. Btc may be a popular coin right now and rightly so but the dollar is entirely on a different field. Too much change may still take effect before btc can be as much accepted as the dollar and it may take decades before that happens

You know what op, i for one think that it is impossible to happen. Coz (1) most of the old folks would never want the dollars to disappear. Because they would always want the easy way in their eyes and i mean that even if bitcoins are easier, rhey would still choose dollars because they would see bitcoins as complicated stuff. Plus pther patriotic reason. (2) the government just won't let it happen. Not unless they find ways to gain control over it like or close to how they can control fiat.

No, not very likely, for a good number of reasons: the actual demand for 'sound money' by the broad population is somewhat overstated by some in here, and the major economic players (countries, as well as a multinational corporations) likely favor the status quo, so they're not going to try to convince the first group to switch to crypto either.
Agree with you mate dollar will not replace by any other new currency, even fiat in every country it would be remain their existence, crypto currency could be our other option of earning, spending money and also bitcoin can be used as replacement of credit card because more uses of bitcoin is online transactions and that was much prefer in online shops.

Actually it's not that impossible but it will take lots of changes first before we can achieve it and the bankers wont let their fiat currency become worthless and obsolete in the future, so i guess it will accumulate lots of time. I think just having 15 years is not quite enough it will take atleast 30 years but to be able to do that right now bitcoin is currently in beta mode that still has a lot of flaws like some bugs in malleability and bitcoin scaling problem it needs to be resolve first before can progress. Bitcoin has progress a lot recently it has been adopted in various countries and now being used as payment method or safe haven for investors to store lots of money.

So far the parent of all currencies is the dollar even though each country has a different currency but always follow the price movement of the dollar rises dollar dollar effect on the other currencies used in each country.
Then it is not possible if bitcoin is able to replace the dollar while the existence of bitcoin now can not be inaugurated by most countries.

It might happen. And if that happens then the next 15 years the dollar is no longer a standard in the world's finances

15 years is not enough. Because there a lot of instances there are lot of country or areas that will not cover an internet connection so they wont be able to use their bitcoin, also it really takes time to make all of the people in the world to know what is bitcoin. It would really take a lot of years before it would be replace and i dont think it would be replace though
yes that is right that in next 15 years bitcoin is not going to replace fiat but i think it will take a lot of time may be decades because currency most of the people even do not have any knowledge about bitcoin, and therefore they are not using it, i am sure that very soon they will also start learning about bitcoin because bitcoin is now introducing in different places in a best way, and very soon they will also become able to use bitcoin.
