I dont think bitcoin will replace or even surpass dollars because as we all know that dollars is the number one currency in the world and if this will happen maybe in the next 25years.

Cryptocurrencies were not meant to replace the usage of fiat, it was meant to serve as a complement--an option-- for the people to use. Imagine if we were to use only bitcoin in our society, with the scalability problem it has right now, the society will be in disorder.

Despite the instability of the exchange rate, I believe that crypto currencies can surpass conventional currencies as the main mode of payment worldwide. Bitcoin does not depend on any changes in the value of the underlying assets of countries, but relies on the basic principles of market demand and supply.Bitcoin holders have full control over their finances, with encryption and automation, which are constantly being improved. For now it is impossible to say for sure whether the crypto currency will be able to replace the usual currency, but in many countries Bitcoin has long been no non-currency-non-grata. Therefore, there are prerequisites.

For me No, it cannot replace the dollar, or any other fiat currency. To the extent that it becomes successful, it will serve as a complement to fiat currencies, as well as other cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is a great invention but dollar is a currency where protected by the government and it represent its country.
Actually bitcoin bitcoin and dollar are for everyone because it's accepted globally but the adoption of bitcoin is very low right now compared to USD.
They will co-exist and they do not have to compete as it gives people convenience when there's a lot of options.

The United States Dollar is a fiat currency and Bitcoin is an investment asset. You can't really compare these two. Anyway, how are you going to replace a currency with an investment asset? It is not very practical. On top of that, you have the sky-high fees when you do Bitcoin transactions. Another aspect is the acceptability. In terms of acceptability, both these are miles apart from each other.

I think, Bitcoin will not be able to replace the dollar, because the dollar is a very popular cash currency, different from other cash, but I can not guarantee maybe 5 or 10 years longer Bitcoin will be able to replace cash like US dollars.

Soon? Not a chance.

In the distant future? Still unlikely.

I don't think so. Us dollar is an international and very established money. To many countries (to not tell almost all) have their reserves in their Central Banks mostly in us dollar. Has almost the status of gold. Bitcoin has the qualities of being reserve money (is uninflationable) but I think that it is insufficient to fulfill the requests of all the countries.

I think it's difficult but there is a possibility of bitcoin replace dollars, although it takes a long time. Dollars is global currency and many people are already using bitcoin and is a trustworthy currency.

Bitcoin to become global currency still many disadvantages, there are still many things that need to be updated and there are still many people who are not yet know about bitcoin.

I don't think "soon" but I do think after 15 years or so it is a definite possibility. "soon" i guess is a relative term.

It will never happen because dollar protected by govermend of United States and it's not profitable for government to change perfectly debugged currency into decentralized cryptocurrency.

I don't think so. Dollar became the foundation of different currencies all over the world for generations and it will just create confusions if it will be suddenly replace by bitcoin. Especially bitcoin are not well-known to other race, so, that "soon" idea is not possible.

I think it can't. Bitcoin is bitcoin and dollar is dollar. They are different. Bitcoin in cryptocurrency and dolar is real money. So that bitcoin can not replace the dollar Smiley

This will not happen quickly. The existence of legal tender is controlled by the state. Bitcoin is decentralized. The government cannot control its own currency. But of course there is an opportunity, because you can see that bitcoin is increasingly being used and more acceptable.

Yes, I do not think it's possible for bitcoin to replace the dollar. There are many things involved in this.
The dollar is supported by politicians and governments who use everything to see that the fiat remains strong and is only used by the layman. The scope of bitcoin in this case is less as a layman can not use it although it is getting popular.
