Bitcoin indeed something big and famous now, but to replace the dollar in 15 years i think it is difficult.
There are still many people who do not yet know about bitcoin.

I think that the government will never allow that, knowing how much they crave for power and control. But bitcoin can still be mainstream someday.
yes, the government really can't admit that the dollar will collapse, but bitcoin can become something very important along with the dollar

So do you want Bitcoin to replace dollar? Cause thinking of such will be absolutely nonsense. Bitcoin is not a Currency, and neither does it have the qualities of a true currency. It can be cryptocurrency, that’s fine, and that’s what it was meant to be. We can be making use of Bitcoin for investment and for some peer-to-peer transaction or something similar.
Exactly but all those transactions are based in the value of dollar. With out dollar it will be valueless. It is like cooking food with out salt. The food may exist but without the salt we will never what taste would it have. Same with bitcoin, it may exist but with out fiat we will never know its value since it depends in fiat.

No matter how many trillions the US is in debt, I seriously doubt that they would allow the dollar to collapse or else the world will be in utter chaos.

You said it right when you say along with dollar. I dont think bitcoin will be able to stand with out fiat because by then if there will be no fiat, the value of bitcoin will not be determined. We will never know to what we will base the value of dollar. Anyway, it is like gold, an asset and gold’s value is determined by fiat or any circulating physical currency. So how would we know bitcoin cost howmany $$ per gram if there is no dollar?

No it will not be. Dollar is one of international currency and  dollar is a local currency of USA how could it change bitcoin. Surely it will affect the economy of US and also to the foreign exchange. And also could affect to the allied country. Because of very high value of bitcoin.
Dollars are used by ancient times, bitcoin only in the last 8 year's, so replacing dollar by bitcoin is infeasible. Bitcoin is a digital currency it can't be used for offline transactions, dollars can be used anywhere. Moreover government will not permit to scrap dollar for the bitcois.

No way it replaces dollar - but certainly it can supplement it.  I think more and more online retailers will accept crypto in the coming months and years.  I think govt's will adopt their own crypto to digitize and better track the flow of money - it allows them the ultimate control and facilitates taxing.

I'm not sure that the presence of bitcoin can replace the dollar, bitcoin is still inferior to the dollar in any case, I'm sure that the bitcoin price increase is also due to the influence of the dollar, especially the dollar is the currency that all countries use for transactions.

Well it is possible that bitcoin could replace dollar in one of the years coming but the real deal is that will the government allow it? Its decentralization is one of the reason why I can't see a clear possibility that it will be replacing dollars soon.

This may happen but I think it will be over 15 years. When technology develops worldwide, the world economy is not under the control of the US economy, then the bitcoin is enough to replace the dollar.

Bitcoin still have a long way to go. We barely can't implement mass adoption right now because there are two huge sides where one agree and one doesn't on this situation. I think it can only happen if majority accepts btc already.
Even though the majority will accept bitcoin then it is still not enough to expect that bitcoin will replace dollar because dollar is a must in our world and so does the other fiat currencies. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are just digital money that we can use in other stuff but they are not created to replace dollar.

I was never convinced that the dollar could be replaced with bitcoin, this is an exaggeration assumption because the dollar is the strongest currency and is supported by the USA country which is the world's strongest nation.

In the world economy both fiat money and crypto currency need to exist side by side.

In the first world countries where there is ever increasing GDP levels, bitcoin has already been introduced in their payment system. This has led to big multinational companies, like Amazon, started using bitcoin. They can think of moving towards a cashless society.

However, in the third world countries the level of poverty is so high that we see an ever decreasing GDP levels. The major crowd cannot even afford their basic necessities of life (food, clothes and shelter). Here it is almost impossible to introduce the concept of crypto-currency, including the far reaching effects of internet. To make both the ends meet here fiat money need to exist.

At any point in time since there is always a difference in the economy of all the countries, fiat money will always need the presence of crypto currency to survive.

Yes, Bitcoin can be a great tool to global transfer money or investment, but if anyone want it to becomes a currency for payment, I think it's bad choice. While the ability and function of FIAT gave them many profits and easy to use anywhere, cryptocurrency and Bitcoin limited us use internet to use our money.

Not sure the Bitcoin CAN replace the Dollar (soon) since the government will try either to kill it or tax it so much that it will lose its interest. If the Bitcoin resists a fez more years, yea dollar might worth nothing and be replaced by some crypto.
