I don't think bitcoins have a good futur. Not much people use them and there is no real use for these people. The problem is that the people that doesn't use it is the majority of the planet. And you, what do you think about this? Will bitcoins have a glorious future or a realy bad one?
I never thought of it before, but I think it's not possible, bitcoin will not disappear or be unused, as long as the internet still exists in the world, I think as long as it also bitcoin will still be there.

Yes, bitcoin must be one of the greatest invention of the century. It is always compared to digital gold. So, when that is in need of medium of exchange digitally than bitcoin must be the suitable solution. There are no chances for bitcoin getting unused forever.

Nothing is impossible. Anything can happen in future, there is small chance that bitcoin will be abandoned and disapear in future, but it's just small chance.

I really hope that in the future when technology is developing, many people will adopt bitcoin as their alternative payment option and bitcoin will grow into the most popular alternative payment option, replacing the other services.

Even though I think that BTC will never disappear, there is always that possibility. There are other possible substitutes for bitcoin and that can become a real menace.
I think bitcoin is a masterpiece of cryptocurrency, there will be no one can match the adoption of bitcoin, although more powerful competitors in the technology

I think in the future where technology is advancing rapidly, bitcoin will not disappear because of the growing age of bitcoin will be increasingly adopted by many people

Yes, for the digital world, bitcoin is the right format of money. When we are moving towards the digitalization of everything, bitcoin would be the obvious form of digital money. So, there are no chances for bitcoin becoming getting unused.

Not any time soon, but bitcoin is not the end of every development in crypto word. Just like everything it will be replaced by something newer and better in future. That is the purpose of progress and innovation.

I would say as long as their is purchasing power in the currency (bitcoin) it won't go anywhere. Afterall, why would it? The coins are worth value in the eyes of enough people that their remains a reason to hold them.

Fiat currencies have been much more resilient than I initially estimated when this all started. Bitcoin was to be a crutch to have a digital unit of exchange in the event of a collapse/hyperinflation/etc. This has not happened and does not look like it will happen in near future.

Right now it seems to be used for amongst several distinct groups of people 1) those wishing to make a no confidence vote in the fed and fiat currencies. These are your libertarian/hard money/constitutional types 2) techies - groups of people that love new technology, first adopters etc. This group is less concerned with the principled political reasons behind the creation of cryptocurrency.

The third group is the mainstream everyone talks about. I don't really see this happening unless the need arises. All the first two groups can do is build the systems necessary, inspire as much adoption by retailers as possible, and eventually hope that a chink in the fiat currency armor shows itself. Worst comes to worst IMHO, cryptocurrency keeps the banks HONEST (if that's possible). If a robust system and infrastructure of cryptocurrency is created and continues to be created then they will always have the fear of losing market share.

I also firmly believe this technology would of been squashed a long time ago if it were at all possible or practical. Nobody hates competition as much as banks do.

The landscape of cryptocurrency is this bizarre landscape to me. You have mainstream financial shows fascinated by it as well as some governments. On the other hand you have a lot of yellow journalism (linking bitcoin to terrorism etc.) and also governments cracking down on it (China/Russia). Time will tell I think. But I think ultimately for this to disappear it will be because of tyrannical governments and not because a need is not present in the marketplace.

I don't think so, and i think you are fully wrong about this idea. Bitcoin is already growing up daily, its price incresed already and also it's usability is increasing as noticed. Many new users started using bitcoin daily, so i think Bitcoin have really shining future.

Bitcoin has reached a point where it is too big to fail, so we will have Bitcoins one way or another. If it doesn't get used directly, it will still get used under layers and people will not even know they are using it. A future where Bitcoin is not massively used is impossible.

I believe that bitcoin will not be disapear as many startups and businesses are already operating though bitcoin and many exchanges are getting good profit to exchange bitcoin to fiat and vise verse.

I hate capitalistic system that exists today, so Bitcoins are a tool that challenge it. Of course nothing can be known only predictions can be made.

Wait, wait, wait...

In nearly all the posts we could replacee Bitcoin by crypto, just because it's nearly the same thing. Maybe a few banks are starting to advertise for Bitcoin but a big advert from Microsoft or any big company could bring another crypto in 1st place. Because only like 1% of the planet KNOWS about Bitcoin, and even less use it. Today most of the people don't use services that accept Bitcoins and I don't think it is as reliable as bank cards for everyday life.

Microsoft already "use" an altcoin and it is Ethereum, for Azure. But did Ethereum become the biggest cryptocurrency ? Nope. While you may see this as a positive thing, I don't think it is. Because if you need big companies, banks, states, to be big, you lose all the crypto-spirit, why we're all here : to evade from control, regulation, etc.

Bitcoin is still in is infancy. There will be some that dissappear probably lost wallets and others that dissappear because people are hoarding them as long term investments. Bitcoin can only survive as a emerging currency if retailers accept it

The only way I can see this happening is as if there's no demand for bitcoin anymore. I don't think this will happen any time soon though. I think there are too many whales who can make a difference in the bitcoin market. They can make a move and the value will change.

Not only anytime soon, for ever, there are no chances for bitcoin becoming unused. Surviving last 6 years is not simply going without any financial and technological meaning. Bitcoin has all the answers and solutions to financial and technological world. It would never become unused or will never disappear.

Unless bitcoin stops evolving it will never become unused in my opinion. I think people will continue to adopt the use of it which will then drive companies like amazon and netflix to start accepting bitcoin which will further drive the adoption of bitcoin. Just think if you're a company the size of amazon and are charged 2-3% anytime someone purchases a product. If bitcoin could drive that cost down to 1% or less think about the possible savings for the company.

Do I think bitcoin will be the digital currency of the future. Who knows. It's currently set-up in a place to make that happen, but in 10 years if it doesn't continue to improve it could be left behind for a newer more "improved" digital currency.

Yeah standing still is never a good thing, even for a currency. If there are no developments to be seen, well some other coin can run with the prize.

However, I doubt such a thing will happen.
