Most probably they are using bitcoin. ISIS is using money so what will stop them using bitcoin. It is much wiser choice for them since it is decentralized.

Bitcoin doesn't who you are if your using it. So most probably ISIS is using it. ISIS is an underground group and bitcoin is sort of decentralized platform for exchange of goods and services, then it's a safe haven for ISIS transaction right? that my personal opinion.

There is no doubt that they use bitcoins but at the long run they may have need to cash it for purchase of ammunition and weapons that's if the seller doesn't deal with bitcoins.

I feel that the sellers are the people who teach those terrorists about many things. So no one can be sure.
But personally I feel ISIS may be laundering through Bitcoins but it's using US dollar for sure. Because you can't be running an entire organization on bitcoins, for now at least.

Yes I think so because bitcoin is the currency used in deep web. And in deep web there were some people who sells guns, drugs and etc. I think ISIS are surfing at deep web or dark web probably because they aren't afraid of anything.

That is very sure.  They know and they use bitcoin and all or maybe most of their transactions.  If they will use bitcoin, aside from it is hassle free they do not need to reveal their identities or give any details.  I wonder how much or how many bitcoins they have?  For sure they have plenty of it.

We all know that Bitcoin is also popular to criminals because they can use it without exposing their identity. It will be more convenient to them to use Bitcoin so that they can hide their identity. Do you think that terrorist groups like ISIS use it for their transactions?
I think they are using bitcoin, dollar, Japanese yen and all others currencies in the whole world. We must not limit it to bitcoin alone or crypto currencies. Though criminals are using bitcoin because of it anonymous status that do not mean if they have opportunity to use others currencies they will not go for it.

How and from where maybe by mining? or registering on exchanges then give their identity and documents to buy some Bitcoins? last time I checked Bitcoin only has $40B market cap while ISIS has more than $1500 billions, even the entire cryptocurrecies and their market caps are less than 10% of ISIS total wealth.
That doesn't seem like a good choice to use for transactions. not to mention Israel is the one feeding them with money.

No worries, bitcoin is still rarely used to finance crime compared to USD.
Also, the ISIS and other terrorist groups are using every available currency, because they operate in many different countries. It's obvious, that groups holed in the EU are using euro and groups in Britain are using pounds. Bitcoin is available to all, so it's nothing new that it's being used by all social and ethnic groups.

I don't know how the ISIS is going to use Bitcoins. They are based in third world nations such as Yemen, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Even if they get Bitcoins, how they are going to spend them?

I think they use bitcoin and other currency.
Why?
Because no one can trace them.
And its very easy to use.
They need lots of money for their work. Thats why they use cryptocurrency.

They need cash to make everyday transactions and pay their soldiers and Sharia Law officers.

Donations from outside might be funneled using Bitcoin but the money is delivered in cash form.

I think they operate using cash only.

What can stop terrorists from the Islamic state to use bitcoin. I do not rule out this possibility. What's bitcoin? It is a universal currency and use it all. I wonder if Trump also makes a speculation with bitcoin. It is not the fault of the currency as it is used by the owners.

The currency is not at all to blame for the fact that some people use it for bad purposes. But the media very often emphasize that bitcoin is used for drugs or terrorism. Do not focus on this

It is quite possible. As its not possible to know who is funding and who is receiving which makes it a great opportunity to hide illegal transactions, without involving any names. More over its increasing value also helps them raise their allotted funds.
And not only Bitcoin, they might use various other cryptos and also fiat.

There is no question. DAESH is known to have used BTC. But there are very few in the "caliphate" who would know how. They have there own currency anyway. Apparently they are gold bugs.

DAESH Coins in gold, silver, and cooper.

This. You would have to be a fool not to use bitcoin in this particular scenario. The virtual anonymity should buy one enough time to do whatever nefarious thing they were going to do with the money, ESP if they are using strawmen to convert the btc to whatever currency they use. But have no doubt, beyond the fact that it has been reported that cryptocutrencies are being used to facilitate terror, it just makes sense. Bitcoin is about the most perfect way to launder/move illicit funds across borders. You can't move the amount of money you need to fund a war machine, without blipping on someone's radar.

I never though about this because i don't care what value their use to fund theirs terrorist actions. It doesn't matter, we should worry about their funding source only.

I bet that LOADS of TERRORISTS have one time or another gotten hold of millions of dollars. Does that make dollar a bad thing? Absolutely not. Terrorists could as well trade in natural resources such as gold or diamond, does that make gold and diamond bad things? Absolutely not.

They might be using bitcoin and again they might not be using bitcoins and have no clue what bitcoins are. But whats the difference? They are committing act of terrorism, just using a different form currency. They can still hide their identity using fiat currency, we all know that.
I think we can be certain that they know what Bitcoin is, they're also active on the darknet, they know about encryption and have a whole team dedicated towards the use of technology.

Whether they use Bitcoin or not probably depends on how useful it is for them in comparison to other systems. In the muslim world you have something called 'hawala' which is used to transfer funds, I've read some articles that terrorists also use this system.
