It's been floating in my mind if terrorists are using bitcoin and so ISIS is. But I doubt it that they are using it, I think someone is supporting them and that "one" possibly is a rich organization or person that is sending them USD. Maybe yes, and maybe no. Who knows it's better for them not to use any means of currency to stop their violence.

I don't think ISIS will have time to sign up to get a BTC address and I don't think ISIS will have time to wait for confirmation that funds has been received on in their specified BTC address. And to think that they are always on the go and their usual hiding places don't have internet connection, (jungle or desert) BTC is not a good option for them to use. Specially if they want to change it to fiat.

We all know that Bitcoin is also popular to criminals because they can use it without exposing their identity. It will be more convenient to them to use Bitcoin so that they can hide their identity. Do you think that terrorist groups like ISIS use it for their transactions?

Maybe they will reply to you, I am sure they will be active here on this forum. Op how in the world can give a answer whether they use or not, there is no way to find out if they use, however since I haven't heard any news them demanding money in Bitcoins, I don't feel they do. But then again they could have had agents who do it for them, we can never find out this, until one of them is caught and admits to this kind of deals. Anyways hope they do not use it. Otherwise people will go berserk, and will think every btc user is linked to Isis

What am sure of is that they are using money in many forms be the local currency they are based at or maybe US dollars for international transactions and maybe even Bitcoin. However, since Bitcoin is not yet considered as halal (or am I wrong in here?) then maybe their use of Bitcoin can be limited and not really significant in any way.

Terrorist organizations will use any tool at their disposal to advance their cause to produce chaos and bring the whole to a standstill so they can demand whatever they may have in mind. They are out to change the whole world...not for the better but for the worst (in our views which can be contrary to what they believe in).

There is a possibility however they don't seem to be interested in new technology except maybe new ways of decapitating someone.

There is no point for them to use bitcoin when it is actually easier to use USD cash. Because if you want to get bitcoin back into fiat currency you have to go through all sorts of verification. All in all I think there is a chance they do but it really shouldn't be a problem for common bitcoiners.

How useless would Bitcoin be, if there were things that you would not be able to do with it. < Good or Bad> We know ISIS is using dollars and other currencies to finance their operations, so why do we need to put Bitcoin in the spotlight? A terrorist can come into the country with fiat currencies or they can use stolen debit or credit cards.

Let's be honest, most people will rather use cash for these criminal actions, because it is more anonymous. ^grrrrrr^

LOL.
as long as there is the good old US dollar which is untraceable, anonymous, easy to obtain, use and spend literary anywhere in the world, why would anyone with malicious intents want to use bitcoin which is traceable, not anonymous, hard to obtain, use and spend?!

what's is untraceable about USD exactly? unless you are talking about counterfeiting, there is nothign anonimous about using usd, it can be traced easily, the only thing is that it can be obtained easily too

because unlike bitcoin, you don't need to "buy" dollars, bitcoin need to be bought first, and i'm sure that by doing this they would first increase the value and second expose themselves more

There is a possibility that they are using bitcoin. But I don't think they do, what they need is equipments, connections and their goal, they do not need digital currencies. Terrorist are there for a long time, do you think they will be still there, lurking somewhere without someone giving them money, tips or equipments? They don't need to use bitcoin, but if they do, I think they are having a problem.

And when they are making transactions with their suppliers or someone is giving them an aid it is in the concrete form or in physical form which they can use anytime though it is possible that the cash aids given to them are stored in Bitcoin. If you are talking about using Bitcoin in order to have resources to sustain their terrorist organization then I think no they are not. As a storage maybe but not a way as to earn some money since they rely to those who aid them and focus on buying equipment and planning how to commit terrorism.

Or do they use money at all? If so, then it's probably located elsewhere where people wouldn't suspect that tons of money are hidden there. One thing that's most important to them are weapons and killing people. It's either someone is supplying them weapons directly or they have their own factory where workers make their weapons. For the latter, then surely they are using money because they would have to buy the resources needed. If it's the latter, then they are probably just getting paid directly to their families at home because what are they even going to do with their money, they are so busy killing people.

So, is the money bitcoin? I doubt it. A huge amount of money will be paid to those that dare to risk their lives. All ISIS members have the assurance that they are going to die one day by all the terrorist attacks that they are doing. There's a lot of ISIS members, so probably BTC would have to pump harder than this if they are actually using bitcoins for accepting payments for doing terrorist attacks.

Or (back to my previous questions) are they using money at all? It's possible that they are all doing this just because they want to.

Didn't that one cell in Paris use Bitcoin or something, and weren't they somehow related to ISIS in some manner? So I guess the answer would be that, yes, they do happen to use Bitcoin, but probably not in all that effective of a manner.
I would doubt that they have more than a million or so in Bitcoin moving throughout their "economy" at any given time and there is a larger chance that just individual cells use it for what they do, not the entire org.

May or may not be , we can't sure , the reason behind this is that the legalisation and regulations of the Bitcoin making the Bitcoin more open use and this retarding the people to use the Bitcoin for illegal purpose .
Here in my country the government is looking to regulate the Bitcoin , so if every country will do the same thing than How the ISIS agent will use the Bitcoin , since they can use ownself but everyone will not accept Bitcoin from them because after the legalisation and regulations we need to tell for the purpose that for which reason in got the payment and from where .

Yes, tell me what are the reasons that restrict them from using bitcoin. They are earning money by selling their oil and buying weapons with those funds and they might be using bitcoin. However since they don't have much advanced connectivity, I don't think that the percentage is anywhere more than a percent or two.
