price has been rising with good multipliers over the past. in 2015 it went up 2.3x and in 2016 it went up 2.5x and before that i mean the years before MtGox pumping bitcoin and ruining everything, price was going up 2-3x every year.

There is no doubt that every years price of bitcoin increase significantly, during fisrt 2016 the price around 400 - 500 dollars ( with various fluctuations ) and know bitcoin price is 1000 dollars. I am sure that next years the price is growing up agagain rather than now

Legit demand coming from a growing user base. But as you may know, there is barely any real indication beside the growing transaction volumes to know whether or not people really get attracted to Bitcoin. That's why we can only assume that more and more people are finding their way to Bitcoin due to the increased transaction volume, and eventually also a higher price. Another major aspect that may help to significantly push the price forwards, is when we finally upgrade to larger blocks. I think it's safe to say that basically everyone in the Bitcoin world is waiting for that moment to happen.

We will definitely break $2000 at some point. It could be years though and the price will fluctuate until we reach that point. We will see drops in price below where we are now before we get there.

Yes, we can't just compare last year price and this year, then stated it will be the same. But, at least we know that bitcoin could leap more than 100% in a year. Bitcoin can't be predicted accurately, but we know the advantages and usability of it which attracts so many users. I believe bitcoin could reach $2000 by the end of the year or next year.

Yes true, fluctuations in bitcoin continues to rise and now has reached $ 1,000, if this continues to happen at the end of the year I'm sure it would reach $ 2,000. There are many a good factors that make bitcoin prices rise, surely adoption will continues to increase because the price of bitcoin growing and profitable so that investors and traders became interested to using bitcoin.

Yes, we will break more than $2000 some day.

As described someday we'll cross $2000. During the current rally crossing $1000 we won't touch $2000. I think during the days nearing to the next halving we will reach $2000, because something happening instantly seems a artificial bump, gradual increase is the best to be experienced.

Like I said in the other thread, the 2000 mark is still far far way. And people need to think about the mainstream, the massive adoption wont be possible with the current protocol. Why people are going to use bitcoin as a payment method if the transactions can delay days? Thats not reasonable and we cant get consensus about that fact, the mining pools only want more fee, but they dont want to change the blocks sizes or the blocks speed and without a change the bitcoin is destiny to be allways a speculation market without real aplications on the everydays people life.

I believe bitcoin can have a good value int he future but it would disappoint me if I expect it to happen as early as 2018. It could happen but not this year. $2000 is really huge sum for just 1 btc. I'd be one of the bitcoin user who'd have the money to spend on pink sand beaches and classy hotel.

We all got the chance to have tons of money and could probably own a small business later with just few btc we hold.

I think we have the same expectations. I also wanted to see the price of bitcoin to $ 2000 in 2018. maybe you're right, it will not happen this year, but I am convinced that this year will push prices higher bitcoin. This probably will be the first start for bitcoin go to international.
