You really can't tell these days. there's some groups with 120,000 members which are just "bitcoin mining" investment scams.
I am not very happy with interactions on telegram because it seems that what we say is sometimes ignored when it comes to problems that they themselves cannot answer and solve. so it doesn't solve the problem and it's useless to hold a telegram for interaction. what is asked is only a simple matter and even then it is sometimes not done and delays, even has to be asked several times, so it is annoying. It's better to have direct interaction on the forum so there is attention.
If the admin interracts with the community and help with regulating all sorts of issues then the project is more likely to be trustworthy.
Don't decide for the number of active people in the telegram talking about the projects because maybe it is a way of scammer to attract the investors to invest to their project. Maybe they created a lot of telegram account na join tot he group to make a legit project because they have still project who successful even the nunber of active people in the Telegram groups is little just focus on the project not in the participants.
Most telegram groups whose members are active are paid people or agencies, so be careful especially on projects that are not yet famous,I never trust active telegram groups. I think everyone I don't know is a cheater. They are just advertising and shilling coins anyway. I could not see any benefits for me. need to be careful.
Not everyone you don't know is a scammer, but you are right if you have to be careful with people you don't know, increasing awareness is necessary especially when you are researching cryptocurrency projects. 
If the Telegram groups are active, then this is good so that everyone, by asking questions, can eliminate their fears and find out whether this project will achieve successes or not, if any project group is active on Telegram and they answer people's questions, this does not mean that they may fulfill their promises, and we must not rely entirely on Telegram groups in making an investment decision.
Not because the telegram is active it means that it is good already. There are instances that the telegram being active is just an act to take advantage of the member of the group. They will always try their best to look like a legit project even without the goal of succeeding the project.

In my humble opinion, that project is a scam. they conducted Airdrop but failed too pay people. also they the requested for KYC For interenational not from their region. something smells fishy. they might look real but i don't think they will last.Also the project has small attention in the group where people are been kicked out.

No, I don't trust Telegram activity. Maximum are fake activity. There are many scam projects in the crypto field, currently running many scam projects. We see many member of the telegram Joined many scam projects, all are Account is bot and Scammers team always have conversations among themselves.So that people understand it is an active project. ?] If you want to invest in a project, check these project all documents are original, see if their work is going according to the roadmap. And invest your own experience in verifying the truth.

?] active telegram group is very important for me, especially if the team always give us the latest informations about their project

seems this is not a good project because after hit about $650 the price down hard my friend and back to the bottom, just my opinion
by the way, if you bought this project below $100 and sell above $500 i think you already got a good profit
I didn't trust telegram group but I need to follow to have some information's regarding the project. But sad to say that most or large number of telegram group is turned to scam. Yes, they are active with thousands of members but you can't get even a single good information or the project team just leave suddenly and let others operate.
i dont trust but i follow. Because if you want to understand this market, you have to follow telegram channels, discord and 4channel. Without this 3 you can not follow the updates, new projects etc.
Having a lot of experience in crypto world will make you immune or knowledgeable to scams, you'll be suspicious enough of the projects, but for me, I will trust campaigns with active telegram groups for updates because I dont always have time to check for updates.
I think the project has good team members if the team structure is all filled. it will definitely run smoothly and even the community will be crowded. A crowded community does not mean a scam. Upon reading all your sentiments and analyzation I strongly agree that mostly of the active telegram groups always turns out to be scam projects or seldomly unsuccessful it is base on my own experienced as well being a bounty hunter of about a year now. There are plenty of active telegram groups which are just doing phishing and baiting newbies to join them and take advantage of it to scam those newbies and get money from them which I have noticed for over the past years I have been using telegram and participating on different telegram groups.

I don't know much about Xfinance, I'm guessing it's another DeFi project? Well if it's good enough you should know since you can figure out which projects are scam just by checking out their telegram groups, I hope you know the crypto investment rules, do not invest what you can't afford to lose As an Investor , Still i have a doubt with some active telegram groups. you are right, I think not only good and fast response in discussion forums. but the update of the project progress given is what makes a lot of people believe in the project. I am just like you, not very active in the telegram group. but every day I definitely see how progress is happening in the project group. I always hope there will be good news that makes me even more excited about the projects I am participating in.

Wow, if you are already have 6 years of experience in cryptocurrency field, then you should not newbie anymore.
Active telegram group is good for find the information about the project you want to invest.
This is important because without active group, you cannot ask freely and you can get real time answer by the admin at the same time.
