In my opinion, this is a very subjective indicator of the reliability of projects. Given the fact that any project can buy good reviews. by the way, very few people want to write positive feedback on projects for free.

They seem biased to me. A friend of mine who's doing an ICO told me that they paid 10ETH for 5 quality ratings and that's that! I noticed that some ICOs with good project, team, and good social media presence are struggling with getting good reviews.

With all that said, should it still be a factor to look at when investing in ICO?

Ratings are not as reliable as they were several years ago. When there were few of different projects, rating were idea-driven, while now all of them are profit driven. It means that you are unable to get good rating unless you pay for the rating. I do not think that such approach helps our community to develop.

You are very right buddy, many of these ratings are paid by project developers to pose a high quality profile of there project.
They do well with the people that want the good rating or bad because it brings some publicity to it

In looking for a good ICO, I have never used nor tried to visit ICO rating sites as they were too biased and somehow unreliable due to lack of evidences and proof. I choose good ICO based on their platform and uniqueness, and somehow their use and objectives.

ICOs rating site are the last to put a trust in,  Make your own decision and note that, once your decide to invest in ICOs, you are investing in a risk, good or bad, you must not loose a sweat.

Every investor should think first of all with his head and make decisions independently. But need must pay tribute to the rating agencies for the work that they do. Because without them it would be more difficult to search for all the information about ICO projects.

Of course good reviews and recommendations you can buy and it's all bought especially now! The best guarantee will be your own analysis of the project and evaluation of its product based on demand, market work and some other aspects! Recent projects of companies which will make an assessment of the ICO and to fight Scam projects! But these companies also need to develop a certain status of trust!

I do not trust these monitorings. All of them paid. Now it is very difficult to find honest audit of any campaign of bounties. All for money

No, I don't trust them at all! Most of such websites just shill fake ICOs and it hurts crypto industry in general.
That's why I started to avoid such web sites.
I would better find information in tg channels

I also have problem trusting them, and so am more of a fun of influencer's ratings, as there might be less bribes. Or if an ICO can reach, and pay off all the influencers, and rating sites, it is doin something good Cheesy

ICO's rating is not the only and far less important than PokasaTeli's choice of ICO. In my opinion, the first thing to pay attention to is the product itself, and whether it is useful to society.

I think that many ratings are not quite objective and are designed for inexperienced and novice investors. Who writes the rankings, they depend on it advertising revenues and that says it all. I wouldn't trust them too much. Perhaps not all ratings such as I wrote.

First of all, I think rating websites are not for believing. Rating websites are just a reference, you can rely on your own experience to judge.

If this questions were asked long ago let's say early 2018 or towards the ending of 2017 when there were so many project springing up, i would have consider it a Yes to trust ICO rating sites. But this days they are all paid to  give out those ratings, this is why some many investors have fallen into scam project because of the trust they have for those rating site. But for now, it a No for me and i also think 2019 will see a different package of how to check the authenticity of those projects without necessarily going through those sites.

I think that you gave yourself an answer already,by sharing your friend experience. This is sadly how ICO trackers work, and you cant rely on them at all as its so cheap and easy to buy high rating. If someone thinks that good  rating is earned and not bought in 99.99% of the cases, tell him to find some VIP/Premium or whatever listing on ICO Tracking site with low rating-its impossible to find that case.
Best way is to do your own due diligence, trust no one else.

I used to pay attention to the ratings, but after I got on two scames with high rates on the sites - I stopped doing it. Everything is bought for money and you can not believe it.

Probably not, most ico ratings are being paid.So ico reviews are being manipulated too ,to attract investors. So everyone should be careful of investing.
