Hey guys,

I was wondering if you keep all your bitcoins in one wallet, or do you use multiple providers/accounts?

I am currently using 3 different wallets, it kinda feels safer not to store everything in once place...

Thoughts?

Before i have a lot of bitcoin wallet. I have a blockchain Wallet. Xapo bitcoin wallet, coins.ph bitcoin wallet. And block.io bitcoin wallet, and bitbit bitcoin wallet. I have a lot of wallet before. 😂 but now i have only one bitcoin wallet. My bitcoin wallet now is coins.ph because coins.ph is my only one wallet that i can withdraw my all Bitcoin that i have. using multiple bitcoin wallets is not increasing your security and it can even become a pain in the ass to keep all those wallets safe. but on the other hand you can use multiple wallets for different purposes like a cold wallet and a hot wallet for storing and spending respectively.

It is a personal preference.

However, it is highly recommended that we have seperate wallets for different purposes. Like most of us for example, usually, people have 2 or 3 wallets. 1 of the wallets is for spending purposes and the other/s for holding their bitcoins and readying them to use/sell when the time is ripe.

Using only one Wallet and that is Blockchain.
I think it is one of the most popular ones.
to be honest blockchain.info wallet is really great in my opinion, i think there wont be any better online wallets ever because it is really newbie friendly and i use it from the beginning

i use only one bitcoin wallet right now and i think that i will never need any other wallets, i heard that blockchain.info wallet is not safe but i have never had any problems with it

when i didn't had much bitcoins yet,  i keeped all my bitcoins  in one wallet only  and i thought it is all right, as easier to remember password, but then i heard about wallet hacks and i use 4 now

and since i have 8 bitcoins  i simply keep 2 bitcoins  in each one of my wallets, and all are created  in different place, 2 in blockchain and so on, and  i think that i do good thing

i use 3 wallet online , one of my wallet get hacked 3 days ago and my mistake because i am not set 2fa, glad i am not save all my coins in 1 wallet  or i will lost everything.

Wait a minute, what wallet offers 2fa?
Coinbase or xapo that online wallet has a 2fa to secured your wallet but you can disable this or not use for authentication before you login..
I dont recommend online wallet i already experience bad things about those wallet so i convert in electrum it is better than using online wallet even theres a fee its ok for me safetyness is the best to choose..

True, using only one wallet was a good move. because if we use a lot of wallets there is a possibility that we're going to be confused because it forgot to put funds. not just sum up the time to Transact and pick the most popular wallet is the most secure locks done, because it is definitely the most popular wallet site (BC) has a security system so tight and so secret. you are so lucky

no i am using a sing wallet for storing my bitcoin and that is enough for my bitcoin to store there.it is a reliable and trust-able wallet. i can do fully trust on that coin.
its not about the security of the wallet, its about the anonymity. if you continue to use 1 wallet forever then you arent being anonymous in bitcoin.
I use a HD wallet that always changes my public address, but i also have a paper wallet for storing funds long term.

but you are not gaining any extra anonymity by doing this, because all your bitcoin addresses are easily linked together, you are just making it longer and you can easily check all of them by using something like walletexplorer to find all your addresses linked together.

I had 3 wallets before one year and after having some problems with my Coinbase wallet, i decided

to use only localbitcoins wallet to store my bitcoins.

There`s no 100% security even with a PC wallet  Undecided

I also used three bitcoin wallet to store, one as a long-term investment because I believe bitcoin price will be very expensive in the future and the rest of the other wallet as storage for a moment.

HODLing is an art, not just a word...
using multiple bitcoin wallets is not always good. you should try them and use only one or two that you find good.

because if you don't use password for them then you won't have any security and if you use passwords you have to set a different strong password for each of them and remembering all these passwords is going to be a hassle and you may even confuse them.

I find it natural to split my coins between couple wallets. Not necessarily because I want to keep my privacy but I feel more secured this way.
But if you own only small amount of BTC, say less than 1 BTC multiple wallets are maybe overkill, as it might be a hassle (for some people) to manage all of them.

Keeping small amount of btc in online wallet (for fast transactions and quick access) and rest of your BTC stored in Armory or Bitcoin Core is the best way IMO.

This strategy is very good for people who owning big amounts of bitcoins, cause if one of wallets is hacked or just even lost, owner will not lose everything at once.
i guess you might be right about this but if you actually use different wallet addresses on the same online wallet then i guess it wouldnt help you at all to avoid getting hacked

i use only one wallet at the moment because i dont need any more of them, i put all my bitcoins to the same address because it is easier to use bitcoins for me in such way

Everybody uses multiple wallet if they have few btcs. But only you earn from somewhere or just for the fun you have purchased than mostly 1 wallet people have rest they have 5-10 wallets easily stored online and offline as well.
in my opinion you are actually right, sooner or later you will have to use several addresses in my opinion as you might lose some addresses or just change wallets

i use several addresses because i just have a cold storage and hot storage so their addresses are actually different, though i have never used more than 2 addresses at once

i am don(ripper's big daddy).i clean scammers.
Sometimes i forget my passwords and login details to my accounts so I also feel fear in the case of bitcoin and for that i do not save all my coins in one wallet, and the other fear is its hack. so i keep my coins in multiple accounts.
good job...everyone makes multiple btc wallet but not just for fear of hacking. because bitcoin is not any things which can be hack.
so now you just create multiple btc wallet for keeping safe it from malware, virus, phishing which attack your private key.so everyone do for make transaction easier not keeping safe from hacking.
