I quit trading back in February, a little after Elon Musk purchased Bitcoin. I took a decent loss then, which I partially managed to recoup shortly after. However, I decided that trading isn't for me, it's way too risky and unpredictable for my liking. On top of that, it was making me anxious, seeing all these ups and downs, which I understand that is the interesting part of crypto, but it would make me irritating and distressed.

OP, “trading” can be a form of gambling too. 90% of “traders” are losers. In every bull-bear cycle 90% of them quit because they lost the money/coins in their accounts. Who are left? The HODLers.

I never did that, because when someone starts with a small capital, he didn't have to worry much about because he didn't lose much money in that case. But when someone invested more money then he should be a little or even more worried about it and put his step back. But the way traders owing their trading strategy should be better as well.

I do not yet consider quitting trading because I still see trading can be the main job for people who wants to have the opportunity to make money.
Every job will have its risk as you say but if we can manage the risk, I am sure we can handle it and we will not have to face a big risk.
High risk will depend on how much money we use and how well we analyze the coin that we do not have much info on.
If you can learn trading better, you will know how to prevent the big risk and make a profit in trading.

Likewise trading is risky too. For you as a trader, have you considered abandoning trading because of the high risk of losing money in your trade?
Unfortunately trading is a skill and journey that demands a lot of time and patience to perfect it and sadly we want to be pros after watching a few YouTube videos and the alike and once we apply these new skills and it doesn't work out we want to quit and abandon the trading journey....this is not how this works!

Truth of the matter,, When starting off to trade on real accounts, you will lose money, get emotional and with time experience will teach you how to handle all these different scenarios and move from losing trades to being a profitable trader.

if we are a trader and we are far from being an expert then we can trade with lesser money so that we can only loose less ,
that makes us continue and not quitting trading and who knows maybe sooner or later we can now be good at it , we wont have worries and we can increase the money that we put in to gain more profits .
my advice to every trader is dont quit easily but think of a solution to make you get going because quiters can never be succesful .

Not yet for me, maybe i will think about quitting when I have made a kill  Grin

Lol here... Nobody quits his business after he has made a kill except the business is life threatening and or an armed robber  Grin

And we both know trading is not life threatening in the case of making a kill.

When reality slaps you in the face then thats the time you do make out some realizations and would take the things even more serious and bit dedicated.

This is true as always when you keep losing out on your acquired profit either because you don't get serious with the business by not doing the right thing by applying some techniques or caution after you have made the profit (like putting a stoploss because price can eat the profit and to your balance, or you lock your profit up by adjusting your stoploss at your entry point securing your balance with that) at a point you realize it that you are making losses.

No I don't want to quit trading because I have always choose the right coin at right price but problem is that I have never hold any coin. when the price has gone up I always sell before price raised. I want to give some time to my trade and hopping regular earnings.

You need to get additional knowledge that will help you correctly set the goals on which you need to fix the profit. And I recommend starting the study with the Fibonacci indicator, which will help you correctly place buy/sell orders, as well as the levels at which it is necessary to set a stop loss.

Actually each time I risk my money and loose sometimes, it gives me more motivation to trade more. I’m not saying I jump in emotionally to bring back my losses and principle amount but I do this to check my trade in completely different way this time. Moreover, this strategy has built up pretty well and I know very well what way is not compatible for me and how I can improve myself each time. Nonetheless this has earned me little profits in my own small trading universe. So definitely I’m not going to quit my trading even though it’s with big risk.

I hear many people who feel like quiting or abandoning their kind of job because of the risk they go through.
Job risks come with the job. The point is that many people are not suited for the job but end up getting into that. Very common in some countries where the average income is low.

Trading should not be compared to a job. It is a speculative activity which can have a large gain/loss. It carries risks and every trader should know this before they start trading. Just because someone bought some bitcoin does not mean they should start trading on that. There are methods to not trade but still make money in the long run like holding or investing the money in a business (Ideally).

If someone feels they should stop trading, probably they should. A short break can often work wonders and sometimes one needs to introspect whether their choices have been correct or not. I dont day trade, so I dont end up with such losses.

Moreover the term "lose money" is only half truth. In crypto trading, spot trading specifically, you exchange one coin to another and not lose the money - the bought coin might fluctuate in price but you have not lost the capital money. But in margin trading yes, the chance of losing money is quite common because that is nothing but betting on long/short.

I lose already hundreds of dollars due to bad trading position. Not anymore, I just learned from the past. As of now I am trading in spot, playing swing trades with different high marketcap coins. Playing ADA/USDT, BNB/USDT, BNB/ETH, ETH/USDT. I also investing in low cap and high potential nft games.

Almost every career, discipline or profession has its own hazard, risk and disadvantage. I hear many people who feel like quiting or abandoning their kind of job because of the risk they go through.

Likewise trading is risky too. For you as a trader, have you considered abandoning trading because of the high risk of losing money in your trade?

Yes. I'm planning to change my path to gambling rather than trading, since I'm always losing in trading and ended up badly why don't I just do gambling to see if I'm lucky on it rather than on trading both are risky but gambling has a much faster result than trading.

Trading is one thing I will never quit no matter the losses I face. One thing I came to understand about trading is the more you get acquainted with the market the better your trades. This is a career I intend doing for life for now as an alternative source of income and at old age when my services may no longer be relevant I would dive fully into trading as a full time adventure

There is no need to quit.
At the beginning of everything we will do, of course we have to consider many related things that will happen or the risks that will be received, daring to take risks is sometimes really needed for good results if indeed these efforts have the potential to gain profits. Things like this must be addressed with a strong mentality, a trader must have a strong mentality and commitment, even though there are risks... but if we have high intentions, it can be passed and succeeds over time.
That it will become usual to think about quitting when you are really at a bad situation. But because we aim for better and we consider this as a challenge, we change our mindset into positive. I felt that not only once but several times during my early days in trading but what it just hold on to me is I put this in mind that this is a part of trading, we can't go too far and reach our goal if we are weak. It was our emotions that brought us down and think negatively.

at the first place you should know the risk when it comes trading because its not an easy way to make money and perhaps before you enter in trading you make research first as well for sure, like we always do because of our curiosity, such what are the most important things to carry in order to succeed and to prevent losses from it.  Indeed even you search the word "trading" you will see the specific information immediately, for example "how risky it's and the advantages".
So if you quit trading it means you're a lazy person who don't have so much time to study the most important thing to become successful in it. Because to be honest how it will happen to you if you know already what is the best way or answers to all lf our problems in trading?

That's too bad if a person dares to quit without assurance, with just a little profit from trading you're facing too much risk. You can't be certain at all times you'll take sustainable gains in trading, because unlike from stable job that earns fixed amount of money will support your basic needs. Even how big your skills is, trading crypto still deals with volatile and unpredictable market.

It might depend on which kind of trading you are and if you're in day trading which is very risky and very pressure on your part.  I like long-time trading which is I still manage my time until now even though I have work in real life.  IMO, find a decent job + continue in trading or investing is a perfect combination because you have another financial support when you're down in trading.  It needs proper balancing and there's no need to quit in trading if you can manage your time properly and avoid being too much greedy in trading.

Trading isn't easy of making money, it needs your time and focuses on it.  But I suggest not to leave your job too just to focus on trading.

Yes i agree that we must have a full time decent job beside trading and not doing full time time trading without any other income source because full time trading in crypto could be so risky due to the market is not always green every day, there are the days that every coin is crashed due to bitcoin crash.
Only a high experience and high skills traders could make profits everyday from crypto market by doing futures trading but also it's too much risky if we don't have stability in our financial

Defi and Staking might make traders consider trading and just enjoy life when there is enough money to just settle in a peaceful place. Defi and Staking provide good profit if the trader just has enough capital to invest in a staking project like ETH.  If you earn thousands a month through staking, why not after all ETH price had been increasing.

Or there is also ADA which is continuously going up, history can tell that projects with a good foundation can make you an enormous amount of money enough to quite a job.
