My parents live with me and they have no idea about my extra activities aside from work and I think they don't need to know it since I'm already capable of making my own decision and I'm the decision maker in the family, which I believe being a responsible is more important. Many are too open with their parents and that's ok because at least you have someone to lean on if something bad happen to you though many are afraid to open this because they might experience discrimination even from their own family and that's why many chose not to share it.

Many people still think that gambling is bad because they have often seen what gambling causes. For this reason, they forbid their children from approaching gambling and are not even allowed to know about gambling at all. Unfortunately, in this era of advanced technology, young people can find out about gambling easily because by searching on the internet, they can get all the answers and can start gambling. Now, it is only by providing understanding to children that every parent can do so that their children do not get involved in gambling. But there are still local or illegal casinos operating in our cities so that people can come to them to gamble.

Your parents, for a really long time having witnessed people in your village become irresponsible due to their gambling habits slowly become addicts. Living in a small village, news spreads quickly and as people gamble sitting by the roadside, it would be generally thought that the habit is what wrecks them.
And it’s quite irresponsible to play by the road side all day without having to do anything productive for yourself hence your parents fear.
I would prefer you respect your parents and not let them in on your past time activities. They’ll rightfully get scared and think you’ll end up like your village folks gambling all day everyday.

I am not in my twenties and my mother is very old, I don't think it's cool to tell them that I am into gambling when they know that I am all about Bitcoin investment, even before my father passed away he always told me to never gamble and I did honor it, because I never had interest until I get to know that gambling is now available online, I don't want my mother to start getting wrong thoughts about me or put her in a position where she is uncomfortable with what I am doing.

If you are a responsible gambler you don't need to tell them that you are gambling, even if you turn into an addict it's better to seek help else where, I am staying this because all I have now is my mother and she is old, if your parent are still under 60 and you need help, maybe you are the only child and no one help can help you then you can involve them, but for me its a big no.

The reason why people get assictwd to gambling is obviously their own desires and goals they have built in mind to make from gambling, you aren't working on anything, you aren't building something for the world to consume or use, so it makes no sense to expect gambling to turn things around for you, I know few people are lucky and that's the thing, once you get luck you have increase your confidence in gambling.

Judging from your response, it means you are still answerable to them for even asking where you are getting money from, but the case is different with me. As an adult of over 2 decades, no one cares about where I get my money so far I haven't given them any reason to question my responsible character. As for gambling, it's such that takes more money than given in most case, which is why not many people would be judging you through that since it's a few that wins big in gambling, and many of those who wins big also play big, meaning they already have money.

The reason why people started suspecting and asking questions is when there is an iota of irresponsibility in the dealings of someone. It causes concern and this would bring about curiosity that might eventually unfold the reason. There are some people who gamble but you will not even know not to mention anyone being bothered about them even if they eventually know. Once they do not behave irresponsibly towards gambling and personal lifestyle, they are good to go and they continue to live their lives the way they should.

Right, I never thought gambling was bad. I participate here mainly for entertainment. I'm old enough to say I'm fairly mature. But I don't tell my parents about this gambling because my parents and I live in village. Some local people here spend their lives gambling by sitting on the roadside. Just be responsible with the actions we made, especially gambling, well if you already earning a lot of money seems sometimes you really value this because its all of your time and effort jus gambling what you can afford to get entertained.

I dont live with my parents now but before when I used to I do say to them that I bet on sports  mostly in finals which they are okay with and nothing wrong with as it is my money. Mostly those parents that won't accept their child doing gambling are those parents that are very religious because it is a sin to them but luckily for me it is okay for my parents but still they gave me advice about the risk of gambling which I understood.

Gambling is not bad, the bad is how we deal with it, the addiction, and the other negative effects that comes from ourselves. Even if you are involved in gambling, but it does not give you any negative effect, it cant be said as bad. Of course most people have a negative mindset already about gambling because there are too many bad experiences from gamblers who are addicted and affected their life. I'm not sure about how old you are, but if you are mature enough, your parents do not need to know about it but still it is better if you tell them about it. It is better that they know it because you tell them than they know it from others or catch you do it later.

No, because with this aim in reality now they have become gambling addicts and are experiencing phase of financial decline so it is not recommended to carry out gambling activities to make money.
I believe that some children who have reached adulthood with tendency to gamble are those who were initially just curious about what the adults out there were doing in gambling risking certain amount of money to win, but the children still hid what they were doing they.
If we talk about problems like this, it is actually the fault of parents who are not very strict in supervising and limiting every activity of their child and also the fault of the child himself because he has entered into gambling and is in an inappropriate environment namely the environment of gamblers.

Usually when children grow up they are more wasteful in spending and also have fun with their friends so they try to make money by gambling.

There are persons who can merely eat one meal a day because they have very low income and you can mostly see them gambling all the time where else they are supposed to be some where doing jobs to be able to feed their family, sometimes the wife might be aware but what can she do when the man claims it is his own job and prefer gambling all day than working because of the less stress involved.

Many people's lives have been ruined due to gambling and this has happened to my close friends. Because of this my family members sometimes advise me that gambling is not good. But I don't know that gambling is a serious addiction for those who are completely addicted to gambling.  Due to which it becomes very difficult for them to give up gambling in a very short period of time. Despite some family discipline, some boys avoid the eyes of their family and get addicted to various drugs including gambling.

My parents didn't know that I gambled, but when I was young, I learned to gamble with the influence of a friend. This is a good perspective. Kudos for having a responsible gambling habit to not bring shame upon your parents name. But maybe consider letting someone who you trusted so much to know a little bit of your gambling habit so you could still be grounded and be guided when things don't go very well. It doesn't necessarily mean to be your parents, it could be them, but if you don't want to bring stress or overthinking to them, you can just give them some hint that you occasionally play and just have a friend or your partner to know your routine in gambling, so you won't be lost in case you need some suggestions.

Just last week here, when I went to a grocery store to buy things. I was hearing a grown up man was mad on his call and from the conversations, seems the money he use to sent to his son finish even before the month end and from calculation the upkeep should be enough to last him for a month despite the high cost of living. The money should be manageable for two people talk more of him that stays alone in school. After a while, the dad called back and say he knows that he also gamble, his sure that some of his money always go to betting.

These are part of challenges that parent face with their children that are not working class. How can you be gambling when you don't have a source of income while having school responsibilities, it's very bad of them. I'm not an addict that gambles all the time and I don't inform my parent as well because I'm not a kid and I'm not under anyone's roof. I believe if you don't ask anyone for money, they don't have the right to poke nose into your private life affairs but when you are under them, then they need to know.
