Many people's lives have been ruined due to gambling and this has happened to my close friends. Because of this my family members sometimes advise me that gambling is not good. But I don't know that gambling is a serious addiction for those who are completely addicted to gambling.  Due to which it becomes very difficult for them to give up gambling in a very short period of time. Despite some family discipline, some boys avoid the eyes of their family and get addicted to various drugs including gambling.

My parents didn't know that I gambled, but when I was young, I learned to gamble with the influence of a friend. At that time, I wasn't really aware of gambling; all I knew was that if I won, I would get money. This was when I was young. And when my parents find out about this, I receive a punishment from them.

But now that I am old and have my own family, my parents still don't know that I gamble online. But I think that even if he finds out, he will just tell me for sure that I know what I am doing between right and wrong.

This is a good perspective. Kudos for having a responsible gambling habit to not bring shame upon your parents name. It's kind of rare to see someone taking care of their family name's reputation at this time because most of the time, people become selfish and tend to forget their roots. It's refreshing to know that someone values their parents and respects them so much to not taint what they take pride with. I hope many gamblers and players will have the same mindset as you. That way, there will be lesser to no case of gambling addiction, financial burdens due to gambling using credit or loans, and the likes that share negative connotation to gambling.

But maybe consider letting someone who you trusted so much to know a little bit of your gambling habit so you could still be grounded and be guided when things don't go very well. It doesn't necessarily mean to be your parents, it could be them, but if you don't want to bring stress or overthinking to them, you can just give them some hint that you occasionally play and just have a friend or your partner to know your routine in gambling, so you won't be lost in case you need some suggestions.

Just last week here, when I went to a grocery store to buy things. I was hearing a grown up man was mad on his call and from the conversations, seems the money he use to sent to his son finish even before the month end and from calculation the upkeep should be enough to last him for a month despite the high cost of living. The money should be manageable for two people talk more of him that stays alone in school. After a while, the dad called back and say he knows that he also gamble, his sure that some of his money always go to betting.

These are part of challenges that parent face with their children that are not working class. How can you be gambling when you don't have a source of income while having school responsibilities, it's very bad of them. I'm not an addict that gambles all the time and I don't inform my parent as well because I'm not a kid and I'm not under anyone's roof. I believe if you don't ask anyone for money, they don't have the right to poke nose into your private life affairs but when you are under them, then they need to know.

You need to think through a lot of things that the child knew about this much later, but it’s better to tell him about it smoothly and give bad examples so that he doesn’t even have the thought of trying it. Yeah that's true, no parents will be happy seeing there children gambling because the happiness and goals of every parents is to see there children becoming a successful and wealthy man in the future and if perhaps the child chose gambling it would be a heart broken to the parents because gambling cannot secure somebody's future but instead it could destroy the person future if becoming addicted to it.

So even if someone most gamble telling the parents about it is not Adviceable because it may cause them to have a negative impression on you, so is just better not to tell them anything about gambling.

That is the general perspective that both parents always have in mind for their children, they educate their children in the best way they have, and also always want the best for their children in any case. Moreover, we may also know how gambling is viewed in the eyes of society, it is very negative, and even if for example one of the parents is a gambler I am sure they will not allow their children to participate in these activities, none other than because the impact is quite large.

In addition, what parents are afraid of is the addiction itself, if the child gets into addiction then it is quite difficult to cure it, and yes it is clear for the main impact problem is that their finances will be worse, there will be many new problems that come about their finances. Honestly, I've also never heard of a gambler getting rich from gambling, it just doesn't make sense, how can you get rich from an activity that only relies on luck and without any guarantee to earn, the only thing is that the number of losses will continue to dominate. So in my opinion, one of the things that parents can do is continue to look after their children, limit suspicious activities and also keep them away from an environment that allows them to recognize gambling.

Parents always want their children to be well educated. and better live a luxurious life through a better job or business. no parent wants their child to become a gambler. Because gambling is a bad addiction, it destroys a person financially. A person cannot live a luxurious life by gambling it is almost impossible. So especially if my parents find out about my gambling then don't hesitate to beat me even though I am old enough now and have children of my own. And I would never want my child to gamble because I have enough experience with gambling and I know how horrible gambling is.

When you sit down with your parents and talk to them and they ask you: what have you been doing in your free time for fun? I believe or assume that you won't be afraid and ashamed to tell your parents that you went to the beach with friends, that you usually go to the bar to drink beer with friends, that you have traveled to places X and Z. see that the most regrettable thing is What this all about is that the money you spend on travel, for example $1000 on a vacation trip, is money that will also not make any profit and will not return to you, but even so you will not feel afraid or ashamed to tell your friends. parents and you won't feel afraid or ashamed to post on all your social networks.

When you go to a restaurant with friends and drink beer, you won't be afraid and ashamed to post it on your social media and tell your parents, but you won't tell your parents and you won't post it on your social media when you go to a casino physical or online gambling, this shows that you are afraid and ashamed that people will condemn you for being involved in gambling. but honestly there is no reason for anyone to hide that they play in casinos. Nowadays people place sports bets, buy lottery tickets, go to physical casinos and post on their social networks. They are not afraid or ashamed of doing this, because they are not doing anything wrong.

Well, pets has a brain too and many of them are smart, so yeah they know but the only difference is they can't do it like any other humans lol. The answer to the OP's question can depend on the age of the children. If we are already at the right age like you, our parents will mostly allow us and even if they don't, we will always find a way to play gambling.

If we are under age and our parents know it, we will usually get scolded. I only feel bad for the children who have an irresponsible parents because their parents will not really care about them and maybe encourage them more to play because they are also addicted on gambling.

I'm among those who don't live with their parents, and we don't stay close to each other as well, so there is no way that they can know about my gambling habit, and aside from that, we don't talk about it. The only thing we discuss when it comes to money is how I earn and how my work is going, and gambling is not my source of income. I don't see it as something that is important for me to communicate with them.
 
And even if I tell my parents about my involvement in gambling, provided that they can see my helping hand in the family living a decent life and I don't have anyone come to my door step demanding money that I owe them as a result of getting involved in gambling or me selling my properties all the time with one excuse to the other, I will be good with them, and they won't have any negative thing to say about it. All that they will advise me is to be careful, and whatever I know won't help my life should be avoided. That's the kind of response I will get from them.

Yes it's, even you hide it sooner or later they will know if you're a gambler. It's not only about parents, but your close friends, your wife or husband etc which have an often contact with you.

I think it's not shame, but it's stupid lol since he don't understand the purpose of gambling and such person will bankrupt sooner or later. It's really a red flag when someone is lack of money and still want to gamble, it's really a toxic for financial.

Parents want their children to be able to avoid things that have a negative impact. Unfortunately, many young people cannot differentiate between things that can have a negative and positive impact because they follow what their friends do. Another possible situation where people need to hide their gambling activities is those people who have no regular earnings or very small earnings but are into gambling. Because it'll shame them the moment their husbands or wives, parents, or any family members discover it.

Whatever the type of gambling, even if it is based on analysis and skills such as sports betting, it will still ultimately refer to luck. So we have to be more careful when we want to gamble, because of course the risks that are there are very large and for anyone who does not apply restrictions to their gambling at all then as we know large defeats will always dominate them. Of course, no matter what their parents are and no matter how bad their background is, they still want the best for their children, one of which is gambling, in general we already know that gambling is very negative in the eyes of society and even though maybe the parents are one of the gamblers but I am sure they will not allow it if their children want to join gambling, after all this is an activity that has a huge risk.

So the point is that parents will always want the best for their children, if the environment around them is actively gambling then they will try to keep their children away from that environment by giving them an understanding that gambling is very bad and they should not be carried away by the wrong flow.

Gambling is all about luck, and we don't know the outcome. Parents never want their child to follow something that've got more negative impact than positive things. Every gambler hope for the best to happen, but things won't be the best all the time. Parents will surely find this to be bad, and for that reason most of the gamblers keep their gambling activity hidden from parents.

As a grown man, they don't. Or she doesn't to be specific as my dad has already past away. I think my dad had some idea as he was constantly gambling on horses and weekly lottery. I don't think he ever even won anything big. But i didn't tell him about anything, even when i had some trouble with gambling.

To my mom i haven't ever told, not as a young kid or as an old man. It's not really her business. Although i am suspecting she suspected something when i was late on several rents. But she never even asked. I think she thought i drank them or something. And it's not like i had always problem with money. I was winning few big times as well.

I guess if i had more closer connection with my parents i could have told them.

They are going to be surprised when they find out you have a money problem and all because you are gambling. If it's in your personality you don't gamble yet you did while you are now living on your own. Your parents would feel deceived.

When your parents kicked you out of the house for this reason, she wouldn't be surprised if the kid suddenly called them from the police station asking them to bail them out. And they may be happy to make you realize mistakes.

You are right most parents although they are always open and mature thinking but they will worry about their children if they know their children are gambling, I think every parent will prohibit their children from playing gambling even if they are also a gambler.

I have the same thought as you friend that don't be too open to your parents because it can result in making them worry, even if you have good self-control in gambling and have responsibility they will still worry about you, even if they don't say it to you directly. Even some parents who know their children play gambling, they immediately scold them and do not let their children hold money because they are afraid to let their children play gambling which can be fatal to their future, I also just remembered that some of my friends were kicked out by their parents because their children liked to play gambling to sell what their parents had bought for gambling.

I basically believes that the age of the person involved in the gambling will matters the most. You do not expect a grown man who is able to manage his own family hiding his gambling habits from his parent, he is matured enough and knows what is right and wrong, perhaps we can't say gambling is a crime so why hide it from them.
But for the younger kids who pertakes in gambling of course there is every need to defend their gambling habits from there parents because they know it is illegal for there age.
