Bitcoin price matter for those who trade altcoins because it is commonly attached to bitcoin for most unless you want to trade it with USD.
For true devotees of Bitcoin, the price of the digital currency is almost irrelevant. They believe in its inherent value or, more frequently, cannot see any value at all in the alternative of government issued fiat currency. Price is therefore not a concern. At the other end of the spectrum, for those that harbor what appears to be an irrational hatred of Bitcoin and anything to do with it, the exchange rate also matters little. They were screaming that it was all worthless when the price was at over $1000, and somehow convince themselves that an exchange rate of over 200 times what it was before that bubble proves their point. For the vast majority of people somewhere in the middle, however, the price of the currency in Dollar, Euro, Yuan or whatever terms is important.

Very important indeed. Personally I have earned a living through bitcoin for the past three weeks. What I do is a collect bitcoin from this forum through signature and campaigns, and collect from faucets. I gamble on primedice and make four times or five times if I am lucky. I check when the price is favorable and sell either on localbitcoins or bitpesa.

Businesses. If you would be in a business and accepting bitcoin this matters everyday to you.
Example: If someone bought a Television with a price of $450 and payed through bitcoin which is also price at $450 per bitcoin. Payment accepted and me as the owner have 1 BTC now. Then bitcoin went down to $430 so now I am losing $20 dollars.

Price will vary on different things. Trading losses and gains can be seen through prices. On what value it is can be seen through price. Example is a advance set of computer. Why it is so high in price. Is it because they just want it at that price or because it have a great value.
