Are we sure Donald Trump will even contest in this forthcoming election? Because the court cases on his head a massive oh. I saw a News that he accepted all the 34 count charges as guilty. And he will be sentence in the 7th of June. And if he is sentence to years imprisonment then he won't contest again and another thing that can restrict him is that, they will accussed of not being a genuine leader so he can't become the leader of the nation. So I am afraid of him contesting in this election.

But if he contest in the election, I think with proclamations he has made about bitcoin, the community will support him to actualize the dreams of the bitcoiners.

Do you really trust his words? We can never believe him as he is a cunning businessman with manipulative mindset hence don't believe in what he is saying he was initially against Bitcoin and now to gain supporters he is using by using his pro crypto act as a clickbait. I think we shouldn't him and moreover he don't have much chances of contesting this time looking at the recent cases where he was guilty.

I don't think this is unexpected at all.  Since Donny T will sell anything to make a buck, and got in to those ridiculous NFTs he sold, he would have to be pretty dumb (which he is imo) but really dumb to go and fight against crypto when he uses aspects of it to make money for his campaign /pay his legal bills or whatever.

I can guarantee that neither Trump or Biden could explain Bitcoin or the blockchain with any sort of coherency.  If Trump wins the presidency or if Biden wins, I don't believe it will impact bitcoins price at all. But that's just my 2.

My gawd! TDS runs rampant in these forums!! Some folks seriously need to chill and see a doctor or something. Left or right is for me a neither/nor proposition. You nuts on the extreme ends of both parties are getting tiresome. Any sane political commentators on here?!

Trump promised only 3 things. Free Ross Ulbricht on day 1 of his presidency, protect the right of self custody and reject the creation of CBDC. However, these things do not signal a real friendly administration to the cryptospace. I am also very skeptical if he will free Ross Ulbricht on day 1 heheheheheh. The list in my reply is what I reckon would certainly signal a real friendly administration towards the cryptospace. If they do not do this, I would be quite certain that they are not procrypto.

Trump's rejection of CBDCs aligns well with the crypto community's interests. No one wants to use something that can be easily tracked and traced by the government. This should be more than enough to help Trump win the support of crypto voters. Freeing Ross Ulbricht and establishing a friendly regulatory environment for Bitcoin is a huge plus. We all know how things went down for the crypto industry after Biden took office. Several crypto exchanges left the US (eg: Bittrex), while some services stopped dealing with US customers.

The only good thing the current administration has ever done for crypto is the approval of spot ETFs. But that's because the SEC had no other choice (especially with Grayscale's victory in court and rising interest/demand from giants like BlackRock and Fidelity). Crypto voters will choose a presidential candidate who aligns with their interests. And Biden is not the one. We'll see what happens after Election Day.

It was actually during Trump's failed presidency when US citizens could no longer access any exchange they wanted. 2017 to 2019 was when we started getting barred from most exchanges. And we might actually see crypto friendly regulations pass before the election under Biden. House already passed the bill with bipartisan support. If Biden gets that passed that pretty much cuts off anything Trump claims he was gonna do.

And god I hope people are not dumb enough to vote for a president based on crypto related promises lol. A lot more important interests out there. People should want a president who protects the country, upholds American values, isn't a convicted criminal, isn't corrupt, etc. And Trump is definitely not the one. I really wish Biden wasn't running again, Democrats could have such better options, but god he better win for the sake of this nation. I'd much rather have four years of possibly slower political progress on Bitcoin, but a functioning nation, than maaaaaybe have a little bit more political progress on Bitcoin but a fully corrupt govt and a nation on fire spiraling downwards again.

Are you a fan of Biden and the Democratic Party? I think we are not on the same side so this debate will never stop and I think we are off-topic because it has nothing to do with bitcoin. So I think we should stop arguing.

Um, this entire thread is about how Trump is supposedly so awesome. That's the topic.

And in order to promote Trump, the OP insinuated (falsely) that Trump would be better for the price of Bitcoin, even though there's every chance Trump could drive the price of Bitcoin to zero in favor of his own personal coin--or that his anti-abortion forces, needing to stop millions of people every year from doing what they want, would need to create a new kind of police state in order to enforce this, and police states don't like things like Bitcoin, which could pay for illegal abortions.

I think the anarchist bitcoiners are hoping Trump becomes president because in their opinion if America falls that means Bitcoin will rise as the replacement for the US dollar. And Trump is the best chance to topple America since the Cold War, and Trump is probably 100x more likely to topple America than the Soviets ever had a shot at.

So in their mind you bring in Trump, he ends America's role as the dominant country in the world, the dollar loses its special place in the world as America collapses, and then Bitcoin ascends. Of course they don't realize that it is way too early in Bitcoin's adoption for that to work, so if America crumbles under another Trump presidency all it would do is crash the price of Bitcoin as the American economy fails.

Like you, I partly believe that Trump will make cryptocurrency grow stronger and more popular, because he is a businessman and he will not give up any opportunity if it can bring US economic interests.

First of all, Trump is an extremely poor businessman who inherited his wealth and lost the majority of it because of his foolishness.

Secondly, Trump is a criminal, not a "businessman", and criminals don't make "business decisions", the way real, honest businesses do.

Third, Trump does not care about you, me, or your Bitcoin. He has shown repeatedly that he will sacrifice the American people in order to enrich himself.

That's why my assumption would be, were he to be president again, that Trump will kill Bitcoin so he could replace it with something he owns, instantly making him the richest person who ever lived. And his voters have shown that the don't care if he enriches himself or breaks the law. In fact they seem to actually like it when he does that.

Bitcoin went up 500% under President Biden.

Don't mess with success. Don't take a chance on somebody who could literally bring the price of Bitcoin to zero if it made him money.

Exactly. Convicted felon Trump, who will no doubt be found guilty of many other crimes if he doesn't win the election and use his power to corruptly put a halt to those trials, doesn't care one bit about Bitcoin. He probably knows as much about Bitcoin as he does about running the country, which we spent four years seeing is absolutely nothing.

Also to base a vote for president on something as small as crypto is beyond silly. The Biden admin is already getting more friendly with the industry in response to Trump getting friendly with the industry because both sides realize there is no political upside to being against it, and at least a small political upside to being pro-Bitcoin/crypto. There are a thousand far worse things Trump will do to this nation and to the world than Biden has ever done to crypto.

Anyone voting for a pathalogical lair, convicted felon, failed one-term twice impeached corrupt president, who has multiple other criminal trials coming up, and who has proven time and time again he has zero interest in anything other than increasing his own power and wealth, and attacked our democracy, tried to steal an election, incited an insurrection against the government and stopped the peaceful transfer of power for the first time in the nation's history, and who acts like a spoiled like 5 year old idiot every single time he says or does anything....anyone voting for that criminal loser because he said he'll support crypto, well, to be nice let's just say they are not a smart person.

Honestly, I don't know if Trump really cares about bitcoin and cryptocurrency or if he's just lying to achieve his goals. But I will also support Mr. Trump over Biden or any Democratic Party candidate because if the Democratic Party continues to dominate the White House, the Biden administration's draconian policies on cryptocurrency will not disappear anytime soon. We don't seem to have too many choices here, so I think it's better to choose Mr. Trump than support Biden when he is trying to oppose and prevent the development of the cryptocurrency industry.

Like you, I partly believe that Trump will make cryptocurrency grow stronger and more popular, because he is a businessman and he will not give up any opportunity if it can bring US economic interests.

I reckon these are the occurrences where I will certainly begin to trust that the Trump administration is being serious on their procrypto agenda.

1. They will stop their cases against Uniswap and Coinbase.
2. The SEC will create clear guidelines in what is an illegal security and what is a commodity.
3. They create new KYC rules because their old rules have been difficult for the people in the cryptospace.
4. They stop treating the Tornado Cash founders and other developers of privacy software very much like criminals.

Is this what the Trump administration has promised us in recent statements?

Trump promised only 3 things. Free Ross Ulbricht on day 1 of his presidency, protect the right of self custody and reject the creation of CBDC. I don't know if he promised these 3 things if elected president, the only thing I know is that he promised to release Ross Ulbricht but I think this will not be as easy as he said, I agreed.
We should not expect too much that when Trump is elected, the government will become more friendly to cryptocurrencies, but at least I believe that he will bring more fairness to us and there will be no more unreasonable repression like what is going on.

What's even more funny is that after Trump declared his support for bitcoin and cryptocurrency, according to some sources, the Biden administration is also changing its stance on the cryptocurrency industry to prepare for re-election. I hope these will have a positive impact on our upcoming super bull season  Cheesy.

Wow, so you think anybody who happens to have a lot of money is "business genius" regardless of how they got that money? Really?

So by that logic, all of the billionaires who have 10x more money than Donald Trump does and are against him must be 10x smarter than he is, right? So you should just go with the winner, right? If so, Trump is not the winner in this contest you've created here.

As for my own achievements that far surpass Donald Trump, I was not born with $3 billion along with loan guarantees amounting to twice that and I didn't lose half of it. So I am, along with virtually anybody whose made any money in any kind of business, a far superior businessman than Donald Trump.

You know the stuff you saw on Trump's TV show was fake, right? That's just a TV show. You know that, don't you?

We don't seem to have too many choices here, so I think it's better to choose Mr. Trump than support Biden when he is trying to oppose and prevent the development of the cryptocurrency industry.
It's hard to trust and believe all what is Trump is saying as I don't think I have ever heard him acknowledge bitcoin or crypto when he was in the position. So it seems that he is only mentioning crypto now because of the election. Even with the uncertainty, bitcoin enthusiasts' best option for now is Trump. Whether his intentions are clear or not, the fact that he is even considering bitcoin is a huge thing in itself already.

Yes, we have no evidence to confirm that what he said about cryptocurrencies and his interest in the market is true. But we should not dig up the past when as president, he was not interested in bitcoin because even among us, many people were skeptical about bitcoin when they first heard about it. It even took many people years to realize the greatness of bitcoin and begin their journey of investing in it. Like why didn't the SEC approve ETFs years ago and they had to wait until now? Like I said, we don't have many options and clearly Trump is the better choice for us.

Trump promised to free Ross Ulbricht on day 1 of his presidency hehehehee. It appears that the Biden administration should free him before November if they want to compete against Trump on his procrypto campaign hehehe.

I am quite certain that everyone will agree that this is certainly good news for many bitcoiners and the cryptospace community.

Donald J. Trump has pledged to commute Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht’s life sentence to time served if he’s re-elected president
.
“If you vote for me, on Day 1, I will commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht to a sentence of time served,” Trump said during his Saturday night remarks at the Libertarian National Convention in Washington, D.C. “He’s already served 11 years, we’re gonna get him home.”

I sure hope Trump keeps his promises if elected again. The crypto community isn't stupid. They will choose another Presidential candidate if Trump fails (not Biden, obviously). It seems to me that crypto is shaping the political landscape. It's now an important matter to discuss before the upcoming elections.

We're yet to see if the sitting President will survive or gets defeated by either Trump or RFK Jr. It's no secret that the current administration has been taking down the crypto industry with a heavy hand. ETFs approval are nothing if the SEC continues to go after exchanges with the "unregistered securities" dilemma. Who knows? We're living in uncertain times, so expect the unexpected.

I'm sorry but anyone who votes for a president just because of such an insignificant promise and wants to not vote for them again is indeed stupid.

There are a million much important issues in any country people have to concern themselves about rather than what that candidate promises them about cryptos! From health care system and local economy all the way to the WW3 that the US regime is insisting on starting these days. Cryptos don't even make the top 100 issues to be concerned about!

The worst part is that they are all the same! Like these days with tariff wars with China that will only cause inflation in USA and this administration and the previous one (and definitely the next one) all enforced Cheesy simply because they have no idea what else to do since the debt based US economy can not compete with the product based Chinese economy.

@pooya87. I reckon the promises of ending wars and ending any types of decision making that will make a group of people angry cannot be avoided by any president. I only want to witness if he will fulfill his promise that he will free Ross Ulbricht, he will protect the right to custody of cryptocoins and reject the creation of CBDC.

Will he do this or are these fake promises that he will never do? Day 1 he said he will free Ross Ulbricht hehehehehe. This is a head shaking promise that he might never do.

Addressing a crowd at the Libertarian National Convention in Washington, D.C. over the weekend, Trump assured that under his leadership, the future of crypto and Bitcoin would thrive within the United States rather than being pushed overseas.

Trump pledged to protect the rights of the nation’s 50 million crypto holders to self-custody, vowing to keep prominent critics like Elizabeth Warren away from their assets. Additionally, he promised to oppose the establishment of a central bank digital currency (CBDC), marking a notable shift from his previous skepticism towards the asset class.

“I will ensure that the future of crypto and the future of Bitcoin will be made in the USA and not driven overseas. I will support the right to self-custody to the nation’s 50 million crypto holders. I will keep Elizabeth Warren and her goons away from your Bitcoin. And I will never allow the creation of a central bank digital currency (CBDC).”
