They've already claimed that referendum is "illegal"/"illegitimate"/"provocative"/"wrong"/whatever bullshit, even before it was started. So, all these articles about referendum are pretty senseless because there is no sense of proving or searching for violations while proceeding an "illegal"/"illegitimate"/"provocative"/"wrong" referendum. Except propaganda purposes, of course. Cheesy

I know in fact that CNN stage a lot of "news" just like hollywood with someone behind camera saying "action" and "push down the civilians!" with staged backgrounds and paid actors maybe this one I posted is also staged ?
they claim double voting and enter several votes per person and this CNN clip even shows this. I cant believe that voters would do this in front of camera!

Self-defence forces in Slavjansk say they intend to switch from defensive to offensive tactics.

Seems like their patience had run out finally.

Meanwhile, military base in Donetsk is reported to be under the control of anti Kiev forces wearing Ukrainian uniforms.

And the Germans don't know which side they are on, exactly.  Grin

Kiev military unit shoots at Russian journalists after fight near Kramatorsk
http://rt.com/news/158760-ukraine-military-russian-journalists/

Quote
“We saw that machines were gone and the shooting stopped like half-an-hour ago. We tried to enter the premises of the village to find out what happened to locals, if they needed help, and if there were wounded among them,” reporter Oleg Sidyakin told RT. “But as we got closer to the outskirts of the village, we ran into an armored troop carrier with a Ukrainian flag on it and armed people in black uniforms. We were going in a car with 'TV' stickers, indicating that were are press. We stuck hands out of windows, but first there came one shot and then machine gun fire.”

Those black uniforms... Reminds me of this article:

I see Ukraine still attacks the young neighbouring state...

Fighting between Kiev’s army and local self-defense groups broke out in the afternoon near Oktyabrskoe.

“It was around noon. The Ukrainian army was taking ammunitions to the city of Kramatorsk,” local resident Vladimir told RT, citing his friend Aleksandr, who lives nearby. “There is the village of Oktyabrskoe, where there is a bridge [on the way]. Our self-defense blew up a vehicle with ammunition and set Kiev’s APC on fire,” he said.

Ah, I said yesterday, that the third option for Russia would be to wait for the Ukrainian presidential election, then talk to the legitimate government. Might be that the political analysts in Kremlin came to the same idea and are procrastinating...

Moscow in no rush to respond to Donetsk People's Republic plea for accession

Lots of interesting quotes from political experts in that article... I'll indulge quoting one. Smiley

Sleboda stated that when examining Donetsk and Lugansk referendums, one must pay attention to three things. “One, the extremely large turnout, which is nearly impossible to deny. The overwhelming landslide victory – since the vote was essentially public with the glass ballot boxes and the Western journalists who served in place of international monitors, we could say, who clearly informally polled on the ground the strength of support for the independence vote.”

“And three, we have to remember that this did indeed happen under the barrel of a gun – but not the barrel of the gun of the self-defense forces, but under the barrel of the gun of this Kiev regime who was actually killing voters as they tried to vote against it on the referendum day,” he argued.

In a week from now it will be 70 years ago that the Crimean tatar people was forcibly deported from the Crimea by Iosif Stalin for alleged collaboration with the Nazis. One of those deported is their current leader, Mustafa Cemilev. He served 17 years in camps for fighting for the return of his people.

Even though they were rehabilitated, it lasted until the last years of the Soviet Union that the Crimean Tatars were allowed to return to their homeland. Now they are again under threat. Cemilev has been banned from the Crimea, their parliament the Meclis is under threat of being banned because of "extremism". Thousands of Crimean tatars have been forced to flee to mainland Ukraine, and persecution of Crimean tatar activists has become a daily occurrence.

To make things even worse the authorities now refuse to allow a commemorative meeting on May 18, the day of deportation.
