That is the only real solution. And I believe that is what going to happen in the near future. The Easterners and the Westerners are diametrically opposed to each other. Their language, religion, culture, politics... everything is different. You can't keep them united. Similar experiments resulted in disaster in the former Yugoslavia.

Ukraine should be a symbol of international cooperation. The contaminated part (if you buy Ukraine wheat or what ever edible product you are being poisoned) shall be cleared and used to produce nuclear energy until great affordable alternative are found (it will only be a second or third explosion and contamination). Those who want to be Russian to Russia the other like you said to whom ever and those who want to be independent same. The real things is moving if you are in the minority or experiencing war... When war comes you will hate yourself for not having moved.

The saddest part is that all this conflict is artificial and may never have happened if the Russian leadership would have let the westerners clean the Middle East...

There is a marked shift for the worse in the Ukrainian genocide of Donbass. Whereas the last year saw mostly clashes between the self-defence forces and the Ukro-Nazi battalion (like Aidar and Azov) using small arms and mortars, now Ukrainian army pulled large-calibre artillery to Donetsk - on direct orders from Kiev. We are talking about 122mm and 152mm calibres here - which is forbidden by MNisnk-2, so in reality Minsk-2 is now void.

Reminds me of the scorched earth tactics practised by the Iraqi troops, when they were forced to withdraw from Kuwait in 1990. The Iraqis destroyed most of the infrastructure, and they set fire to the Kuwaiti oil wells. In the end however, it didn't worked out very well for the Iraqis. They were forced to pay hundreds of billions of USD in compensation to Kuwait.

The situation in Trans-Carpathia is interesting. But I am confused, as the pro-Nazi parties regularly win more than 80% of the votes there during the elections. Also, the Hungarians are only around 10% to 12% of the total population (mostly concentrated around Beregovo). Their numbers are not that significant, to provoke an intervention from Hungary.

The Elenovka tragedy

This happened two days ago. Kiev’s brutal bombing and provocation against peaceful civilians shocked many in Donbass and Ukraine. Six people were killed, including a pregnant woman, and scores wounded, in Elenovka village. These people were sitting in their cars near border control post between DNR and Ukraine, waiting in line to cross to the other side. Some of them were retirees forced to drive to Ukrainian side to get pensions, since Kiev refused to distribute pensions on the DNR side; others – were on their way to visit families or tend to their fields stuck on the other side.

This new provocation falls in line with Kiev tactics of trying to provoke DNR/LNR into retaliating. Poroshenko is desperate. He is being pressured by EU, and now even by US due the election year, to start fulfilling Minsk agreement’s demands. He can’t do that because his own Rada will tear him apart. His only choice is to re-start armed conflict in Donbass to delay Minsk-2 fulfillment. This is why provocations, targeting peaceful civilians, will continue.

My prediction is that the Elenovka tragedy won’t go as planned by Kiev. The plan to provoke DNR into retaliating is needed to distract Ukraine’s public from internal problems, to re-ignite animosity against Russia, to delay the implementation of Minsk 2, to blame the republics for breaking the truce, and to instigate renewed sanctions against Russia in the wake of EU gearing up for their removal. However, all this will backfire.

Instead, the brutal killing of innocents will serve as yet another clear international proof of Kiev breaking the Minsk agreements. This event will put yet another nail in the coffin of the Kiev junta and its support by the West (many more nails still required, but it’s a start). If not, then EU, US, Canada, IMF and NATO will publicly demonstrate to all that they condone the slaughter of innocent civilians. Before some crucial referendums and elections, and in view of recent EU and US criticisms, this won’t look good.

In summery: Given that Yats is out and Poroshenko's (Valtsman's) crony from the Vinnitsa mafia, Groisman is in as a new PM, the situation will spin even more out of control. Before everything could be blamed on Yats. Now, Poroshenko/Groisman will be getting the brunt of the blame. They only have a few months when they can push the blame on the previous PM, but after that they would either need to resign or to create a big distraction - war in Donbass. As the things stand, a suicidal Ukrainian offensive can materialise between mid-June and the end of August.

Btw, the situation in Donbass is different now from what it was in 2014 on another level. A large portion of the population of Donbass have received Russian passports during the last 2 years. Now if Kiev tries an assault, it will lead to invocation of article 61 of the Russian Constitution - protection of the Russian Citizens abroad. The precedent in the world practice is there - when USA sent troops to Panama to protect US citizens there.

The situation in Trans-Carpathia is interesting too. The governor of Trans-Carpathia asked the Ukrainian court to invalidate the results of the 1991 Trans-Carpathian referendum on autonomy, which were recognised as legitimate, though never ratified by Rada. If this motion passes through, it will set a precedent which can potentially be used to invalidate the results of the simultaneous 1991 referendum on the independence of Ukraine. Roll Eyes

Oh, and in addition to Rusins (Russians) of Trans-Carpathia, who refuse to be viewed as "Ukrainians", there also live Romanians, Hungarians, Poles, who hold passports of those respective counties. There won't be any battle because the locals will overthrow this joke government in the matter of hours. Most of ukrainian people are afraid to oppose the government, but they will smash it in case of 100 % confidence in its helplessness.

By the way, 135th regiment was able to give Saakashvili a proper lesson. It looks like Turchinov wants to become Saakashvili ver. 2.0.

If Kiev can’t attacks directly, what can Ukraine do? Instead, they are attempting to provoke DNR and LNR. To accomplish that they continuously shell peaceful citizens and villages near frontline. The idea is to anger the republics so much that they lose their cool and begin retaliating, thus breaking Minsk 2 agreement. After that Kiev, US and EU get to blame DNR/LNR and, of course, Russia in violating cease-fire. If that should happen, Kiev and US will immediately demand new sanctions against Russia and attempt to vilify Russia and Putin yet again.

This is why DNR/LNR can’t respond to obvious provocations. The especial cruelty of the situation is in the fact that innocent people and animals suffer under shellings, with no recourse. All villagers normally keep a lot of animals, who are also forced to suffer under bombings. Those who left to escape the horrors of war were forced to leave their animals behind!

When will these poor people and innocent animals get justice? Why is the so-called ‘civilized’ world blind and deaf? Where are US/UK/Canada/Australia and EU when obvious violations of human rights are perpetuated by Kiev, Poroshenko, nationalists and ukro-nazis in power? How do they justify their continued political, financial and ideological support of war criminals in Kiev and Ukraine army, while the international tribunal is what they truly deserve?

This is the latest from Donbass, near frontlines…

Citizens of Zaitsevo village, located near frontline, are among many on DNR/LNR side who complain that as soon as OSCE monitoring mission moves to Ukraine side, Kiev army renews the shelling. In other words, Kiev military is quiet, seemingly observing the cease-fire while OSCE mission is on DNR or LNR side. Then, monitors call Ukrainian command to advise that they are leaving DNR/LNR controlled territory to inspect the other side. As soon as their cars leave, Ukraine army and ukro-nazis begin shelling residential areas, schools, churches and hospitals with renewed vigor.

Villagers all around DNR and LNR have been complaining about this devious scheme since the beginning of the truce. It appears, finally OSCE is beginning to pay attention. Head of OSCE mission in Donbass Alexander Hug announced that they would install a 360 view camera in Zaitsevo.

On video below a local DNR commander says that he has had a camera installed for a while, and this camera has registered violations by Kiev. But OSCE doesn’t seem to accept local video proof.

Turchinov says that Russia would not last four days in a war with Ukraine

Alexander Turchinov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, has responded to the statement by the Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Sergei Naryshkin, who said that if Russia were to enter into a military conflict with Ukraine, it wouldn't last four days.
On his social network page Turchynov wrote that fighting with a country like Ukraine, Russia would not last four days.
Recall that in July last year, the chairman of the State Duma Naryshkin noted that Russia is not involved in the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, there are no Russian troops on the territory of Donbass, regardless of what the Kiev authorities are trying hard to convince the world community.
In March 2016, Petro Poroshenko said that during the armed conflict ten thousand Ukrainians died in the Donbass. The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that there is no reason to trust information on victims from Kiev.
According to official figures from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, in the south-eastern Ukraine, 9 thousand 167 people have been killed in two years. Almost 22 thousand were injured. These figures include "civilians, Ukrainian soldiers, and members of armed groups."
