 - Balance = 70.01000000 BTC. (Main Bitcoin Address: 17w8w8ZHdqkSYFkhAMfHJaEqCHgHm9egKv). Fake "wallet.dat". Download here. Password: "12aVP18cd5XsbcGQy8u6eywQ6UuA6Q319s".

How are these ones fake, just corrupted wallet.dat files no?
As the password only decrypts some of the keys.

Admire your persistence, found more wallet shelves, but about 150 BTC purse, adds a real wallet, don't know you is how to determine the authenticity of it?

Hello.

I can't really tell if it's authentic or fake, but it has a different password than the fake one; therefore, it can be assumed to be authentic until someone finds its password and it can be verified.

A greeting.

Hello, in a simple way, someone modified the password of counterfeit 150BTC wallet through the bitcoin core client? Is that possible?

Hello.

I have tried to do that but I have not been able, so I think it is not possible to do it easily.

However, I have changed the rating to "Authentic" by "Supposedly authentic".

You can try it yourself; the fake "wallet.dat" can be downloaded in the first post. The password is there too.

Greetings.

people says all this wallet.dat files are fake files and its like wasting time looking for password.
It's probably not entirely fake, but finding something uncertain is difficult. The fee is quite high although it compared to balance is quite small, it is only for adventurous people.
Its hard to deal a thing like this because it was just a simple file and I think there is no way to check if the file is legit or not if not by trying to crack it first but why not pay later ? but it's also hard to give trust to a stranger online . Process is difficult but worth it and the end if your only going to crack wallets with high amounts of btc.

This isn't only for adventurous people because not all adventurous people knows how to crack but you can also be adventurous if you love to sport and to travel outside .

There are people who say that and people who say otherwise. The important thing is that there is freedom to believe and do what you want.

looks like the majority of these wallets are forged from exposed public keys
in the distant past, some obvious fakes from coinbases like block #1

I'm interested in attempting to break some of these wallets but I'm not sure where to get them. If anyone wants to share, let me know.

I'm always looking for a way to get Bitcoins for free for my own personal profit.  And at first glance this sounds like an interesting idea, with a small chance of success.  And I'd like to think it could work, but knowing there are people out there even more unethical than me, especially foreigners, and I don't feel confident about this idea as a result.

Besides, I'm sure they have tried to crack them and failed, so what are my chances then for actual success?  I think not good.

And if I watched this Hashcat youtube video correctly,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1Y6TPGzVn0 then I have to correctly guess the number of characters in the password to even begin?  If I tell it to brute force a 9 character password and it is really an 8 character password, then it will never find the right answer?

I am trying to open a wallet.dat with Hashcat and a rig with 4 gtx1060 cards. Trying with eight numbers I have a time of about 3 hours .. for the answer !!!
