Suppose it all goes down to what you mean by long time, if you mean a year or two then holdings not a great plan, but if you are talking 10 years or so then holding Bitcoin is a very good idea. In 10 years we will see much much higher prices than now so you would make a lot holding for that time period
if you are a trader, and you follow the news from cryptocurrency, you will not keep them for long, because you will have time to wrap your money much faster on altcoin.
I do not want to handle my bitcoin for too long because if you hold it for a long time it may be possible to get off the price again so if the price is higher then I sell it immediately and I'm not expecting to increase before I sell maybe reverse yet it will happen and I will earn a little.

The reason we should not keep bitcoin long is because the bitcoin price is as high as 6000-7000 dollars. If we keep bitcoin for a long time, our capital is not there, so we should invest bitcoin for a short amount of capital
