This is not happening only to bew projects. Look at Ripple,  it has a great book cover, but it's fully centralized and not even a crypto.

Also, XRP is not "cheap". When you look at Cryptocurrencies, you need to look at market cap. XRP has a market cap of about 13 billion now and even though the price for one XRP is less than $1, the supply is very high so it isn't considered cheap right now.

I remember participating in a certain bounty, I prefer to keep the name private. I went all in to write blogs, Facebook, Twitter and signature and had some coins. The ICO price was $2. Currently the coin is trading at 0.001 or less. I wonder what happened and it never revived again. I was convinced because of its concept, it will turn out to be great.

I also think SERO is a fair project although with no much hype. Many people are mostly interested in projects with hype, and when the hype dies down, there is usually massive dip for the coin or token. Let's look thoroughly at projects when analysing from different dimensions, not just the hype factor.

I don't really recommend or suggest new alts/tokens here in crypto still if they trusted like the team behind it then we can take risk in that

Like example if the funds of the project is escrow like when they promote this then if we can find their place if anything bad happen like this turn scam or hack us like they need to provide that because many really project here turn like that so we are secure

You can't judge projects by how they look, what matters is what they are here to fix in crypto space,i introduced a good privacy altcoin to my friends weeks ago and they neglect it because of its look, the name of the project is sero

How can someone judge a project because of its white&black inky look?the fact is sero is just more than its logo looks and its already trading at a very good price 0.33$ i think, while its ICO price was 0.01cent.

My advice to people like my friends is to always put aside how a project looks, either scam looking or not please take your time to investigate before you decide if its good or not. Some projects are more than how they look, remember that not all shinny things are good either, learn to do research on projects not how they look.
I am very happy i actually participated in the bounty for this coin weeks ago. You cannot imagine how surprised i am to see that its initial price was 0.01$. I just wish to encounter more projects like this. The issue of judging a project by its cover or packaging is very common nowadays but i believe projects like Sero will change the perspective. Vechain was another underrated project in those days.. Aside from judging with present looks,  i believe people want quick gain today rather than long term profit....

Sero is a good project definitely. Anyone who know how to research a crypto project he can easily get that SERO has good potential. When I check their bounty and ANN thread I was sure this project is good. Though I did not imagine that SERO coin price can go from 0.018 to 0.55$!

While I do not know how good is this coin, what you are talking about is very common, just take a look at some products in a store and you will see that most of them are very similar and the only difference among them is the marketing used to promote the product, so when you have several generations of people not used to look at the merits of a product and instead look at some other factors that have nothing to do with the effectiveness of it then you get people like your friends that refuse to invest in a coin just based on its name and its logo.

I agree.  The cover is usually judged by fools or children.  Because I think that everything needs to be investigated in order to give a real result or judge a project.
You actually can judge ICOs by their "cover", as they are almost certainly a scam or worth little or nothing. No matter how you investigate or scrutinize an ICO, it's sill not enough, and it's still susceptible to scam.
Altcoins are low at the moment, and I cannot blame your friends for not putting their money into this coin you're talking about, everyone just wants to get acquainted with the BTC.

The logo is actually very nice, I doubt anybody would assume Sero is trash just because it has a monotone logo.

Anybody who does clearly has no idea what they are talking about, few projects that turn out to be great have a completely trash logo.

Sero, while it isn't great, doesn't have a trash logo.

Seen how much SERO rise in gate. SEveral times I wanna write something about this project while the bounty is up.

This is the first not so known coin I see getting pumped right in the IEO stage. don't you think this is going to also be dumped after this pumped? I've see this happen many times before. This year alone I saw a lot of altcoin pumps, one that I notable sold mine was the BTC2 in the very underdog exchange like gate.io

Maybe there are many people here, including myself. Never judge a project only with its logo, appearance or design. Because we have to see from the idea of the project, roadmap, team, work partners. Those are the important parts to determine whether the project is good or not. it is not possible for people to judge the project only from the outside, if it is true that someone is doing research from the outside, of course it is an inappropriate action.

You are right and these are really impressive gains especially when most of the alts are struggling to retain their value but to be honest i have seen many good looking projects going down the grain and loosing their value to almost nothing, so all i would  say is that market is very tricky and you never know you win it all or loose it all.

Everyone has different abilities and they also have their own tastes. Less desirable projects are sometimes able to achieve success. Even these coins entered the Gate Exchange, will surely attract a lot of investor attention. Because Exchange is pretty good and has a large volume.

With the scenario; I think it’s not judging a project.

The situation was that; an inept research was not done about the project.
Next time when advising your peers; do not tell them about the project; tel them about the uniqueness of the project; and advise them to read more about it (researching).

It’s easier that way

People ratings for projects are very different and according to their own beliefs, for me, the cover is also necessary because their appearance has shown the seriousness of the project ahead. It doesn't matter which display is only black and white, the most important thing is that they can package with simple and user-friendly.

It is same as investors should not judge a project after reading Whitepapers, because a good Whitepaper is a good component of good project, but it does not guarented that project will be developed well over time, and it will be grow as planned in Whitepaper. There are lots of uncontrollable, and unexpected things in real life.

Yes it made me very surprised. I looked through this project before and ignored it. I even skipped bounty when I saw the budget was too low. But that was a mistake, after the IEO at gate.io, its price has increased 30 times. Incredible

I also missed out from acquiring this token before it got listed.  Not because I think they are scam but by the time I knew about their campaign,  it was kinda late and to me the allocation was very small

I don't think you can judge any altcoin by price action alone at least not in short term. You can only make a suggestion to your friends based on what you know, it is completely up to them from there on whether to invest or not. At the same time you don't wanna sound too pushy because then if they lose, they'll blame you but if they win you get no credit.  Smiley
