I think you made the right decision, if you are not comfortable with your gambling, stop first, take a break. If you continue to gamble, your gambling money will only run out because you are not in the right mindset, that's what will happen.

"Don't chase your loss". that is what you are trying to convey and it has been already told a million times but we won't learn the lesson until we get hit on the bankroll unexpectedly.

Luck based games are totally unpredictable, even you can make up for 100 lost bets in one or two big multipliers but as I said its unpredictable so we never know whether we will be able to achieve it or just go with the loss completely. So keep it simple, gamble until you exhaust the money that you want to spend, and stop once you reach your limit.

Right, it's better to reset our gambling habit. For me, after a big lose or even a good win, I usually take a week break from gambling. After a lose, then I will take the time to think about it and most likely says to myself that I need to stop. If I'm winning, then I take the chance to buy something from those profit before going to play again in a week. The best part is that you won't fall in kind of addiction like chasing your losses and greed taking over and wanting to more money after a great win and try to play again the next day.

This is really good to hear that you managed to stop yourself from gambling and will want to have a break when you feel that luck is not in your favor. Many people know this but they are unable to do it practically, keep on playing and lose more.

I would like to know what is your gambling experience once you return to gambling. Did the bad streak end and did you start to win after a break? It would be nice if you updated on this thread when you resume and the results of wins or loses of your few games played when you resume gambling.

It can further motivated others , to follow you, when they know the results which you share later.

In order to help others remember, I appreciate you sharing your story in this forum. However, if you don't win, your loss will be greater and it will be harder for you to recover; therefore, in such a case, you really need to take a break. Great advise but it's very difficult for gamblers not to push for more. I mean, if you are in a losing streak, our judgement are really clouded, that's why we are out of control and the next thing we know, we have lost everything but still insists that we should go and play and recoup that losses.

So it's not just a weakness of you, but I think everyone has underwent this kind of experiences and it's really hard to snap back from the reality and get control of our emotions. Even if we skip and exit that day with losses, we will think that tomorrow we will comeback again and maybe we can win for more. Which I think is very wrong as we might take a small break in between.

We do not often talk about the mental stress that comes with gambling and it is even double when you gamble everyday. I take breaks from gambling and it is fine and I recommend it to all my friends who are also gamblers. And it does not matter whether you are betting $10 or $20 everyday take a break. More gambling during a losing streak will not make you win. When you rest from gambling for a day or two or more you return totally refresh and with better clarity.

This is true, but there are also circumstances which make it either harder or easier. If you're just gambling online at the comforts of your home, it is easy to leave and be back a day or two after. But if you've travelled to gamble in a casino, for example, and you still have money left, it's hard to do it. At most, what you can do is pause for a while, eat snacks, loiter around, or whatever just to cut your losing streak. Well, you can go home but it's probably a much harder decision to make.

This is also my experience when I gamble in a cockfight arena. I somewhat agree with the first half of your advice because taking breaks is one way to reset your session and it can help you consistently avoid making bad decisions if you're one of those emotional gamblers. You lost me at the other half because your luck could continue the way it was after your break and could last for more than a single session.

If I were you, I would have not even tried to chase those loses and try to break even, because of the risk it implies and the fear I would have to make things worse than they were.

That voice or whatever weakness you call it in your head telling you to stop, I hope it can hold you down when you don't want to listen, like tie you down or probably chain you down not to make a move to the casino or that gambling house.

I have done it and the results have made me a little healthier from bad habits.
