Is Halong Mining still alive?

It has been so quiet after the Innosilicon T2.

Rumors of greed, stolen funds, and internal struggles amongst the people within all the known affiliated companies. Ill leave it at that

Hello guys, my friend gave me 3 new Dragonmint T1, but I can't log into web-interface.
If seems, that he changed the password but didn't informed me about it.
Can you please tell is there some way of hard reset of the miner?
Like pressing the IPScan button on Antminer s9 during power on the device?

Thanks in advance!

Uh if he is your friend, then just ask him?

-ck, the following in cgminer readme is tantalizing:

Quote
--T1fantarget Throttle T1 frequency to keep fan less than target fan speed (default: 100)

Is there any chance of exposing this parameter via the web interface or API?
This would be so helpful in using T1s as space heaters where desired power output varies with ambient temperature.
I asked them to a long time ago (I'm not responsible for GUI code) but alas they didn't. There isn't much going on from the software arm of Halong any more and I'm not involved directly with them either.

I am at 3 units, no dead or temperamental boards.

Two of the units are running on MyRig psus, both still working. Other unit is on an APW5.

My room is not as hot though, average 85ºF. I have alarms set for 91ºF so I can remotely shut down a few of my 821's to cut down the heat output. My machines are being run inside an office building and when the building's central air cuts off on the weekend it can get toasty in there if I don't shut anything off.

i am actually interested on how loud this miner can be. i did not find any info on the matter on their site. only that the fans push 206 cfm of air.
Hair-dryer loud in efficient mode, vacuum cleaner loud during regular operation.

Send a request to Richard, [email protected] and he will explain what’s needed for RMA / warranty for the T1’s.

I think they end up with you don't they?

Testing the repair process at the moment.

These were purchased direct from Halong not from myrig.

So far, support response has been good and has supplied a US support location to send the boards. (not myrig)

I have to pay postage for shipping the boards to the repair center, Halong will pay for parts, repair and return shipping costs.

Caveat is "If no fault is found, or the warranty is invalid, the customer will be liable for return shipping costs"

Will update on progress.

Update as promised.

First two boards that fried I contacted Halong support, who gave me the US support location to return them to, which is a persons address in Brookfield WI

I was sending the boards from Canada, so it took 7 days to send via UPS, the boards were found to be faulty within 1 days and 2 new ones were despatched back to me via USPS

It took 12 days to get to Canada. Where they were reinstalled into the faulty miners.

Unfortunately, in the three weeks that it took, three other boards died in the two machines, rendering one of them completely dead, and the other running at 6TH or so.

So now I've sent the three dead remaining dead boards off using the same process.

The upshot is that the Halong support, RMA and repair/replace process is there, it works and I've had no problems dealing with them, they could use a faster courier for returns but hey.

The downside is that out of the 5 T1's I have I've had 5 dead boards.

I'll update again on the progress again if anyone is interested.

Is Halong Mining still alive?

It has been so quiet after the Innosilicon T2.

Bit of a falling out maybe as the T2 from Inno was supposed to be Halong's next unit. Not sure about what had happened but I imagine logistically it was a mess working through three entities to produce the unit. Which was a bit obvious as shipment dates were pushed back way to far for the T1 from what was advertised for a lot of clients/customers.

No idea, but MyRig's claimed supply seems to increase occasionally so they seem to still be receiving units from somewhere.

I had a myrig psu fail today.

So of 5 psus 1 failed.
Of 5 T1 miners.  3 work all 3 boards. 1 has two good boards 1 has a flaky board?

So 13 good boards
1 dead board
1 iffy board.

That’s about the same as the s9s.

Now I run the gear in a hot spot
Along with s9s which also fail.

My Avalon 841s are fine in the same spot.

I will still NEVER buy one simply because of how they run the company. Hiding the fact that the miners require a pool supporting ASICBoost until just before deliveries started. For the Investomers who pre-ordered thinking they'd run on any pool, they got screwed.
Fine -- they actually delivered miners. Kudos for that. Now how about them opening up a little to let us know:
  • Why they chose to use every page of Scamming for Dummies when they started marketing the T1. The 1 page they screwed up is that they actually delivered miners and more or less as scheduled.
  • Who the owners are
  • Where their business is registered and located
  • Their relationship to Little Dragon LLC and Innosilicon

dont forget to mention their failure rate on broken hashboards DOA

Anybody has tested T1s with the new bitmain psu? (APW7)
With the older APW3+ i tested on Halong and they just handle the eficiency mode, i hope the apw7 (1800w) can handle the balanced mode.

Not sure why it was removed  but here goes a list:

https://bitminter.com/ ----------  they mine both nmc and btc merged
http://solo.ckpool.org/ ---------- I mine here
http://ckpool.org/ --------------- I mine here
http://kano.is/  ------------------ Newly added
https://slushpool.com/home/ --- 4.6 Eh
https://www.f2pool.com/ ----- allows pps mining as a choice  about 4.2 EH

p2p pool I think not sure

I think there is an Indian pool  and a few more.
